Darth Revan of the Sith
I couldn't give less of a crap. This is just like the Whitney Houston sh*t. Just because someone does something important, that person automatically becomes important and deserves lavish ass funerals with praises from everyone. Nobody does that for the black kid murdered by racists. Nobody does that for the kid who committed suicide. Nobody does that for the kid murdered by an American projectile in Iraq. Nobody does that for the raped and murdered 15 year old teenager. Nobody cries on the television for these people but we will cry for Neil Armstrong. F*cking great. Those who become famous in the eyes of others recieve the glory and memorials that all should get, and the inoccent people on the street who live through every bad day of life on day at a time and bad things happened to them are ignored. Becuase people are self centrered, and will only mourn for people they think derserve there pity.

BehindTheMask
Over 7.5 million children under the age of 5 die from malnutrition and mostly preventable diseases, each year. 36 million deaths each year are caused by noncommunicable diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes and chronic lung diseases. This is almost two-thirds of the estimated 56 million deaths each year worldwide. (A quarter of these take place before the age of 60.) Why should this guys death be anymore important? Why do you guys only care about the famous people? LIKE omg, death totally sucks #yolo #2012 swag #livefreedieyoung The man was 82...we should have expected him to pass. Sure his death is terrible, but more people die every day from preventable diseases.
Legend Zero
Is it a new hipster thing to not care about people dying? I get the whole "this person isn't more important than anyone else" but this guy is kinda better than most, imo. :S I always heard that when he looked back at it he can't believe he trusted the technology they used. Cin
We're talking about someone involved in Science hardly with achievements worth brushing off like you guys are. Yankee
Usually I wouldn't care. However, I gotta admit, being the first man on the moon does put you up higher than any celebrity. You seem to think that oh "Ben is just being unnessecarily cruel" or "Bens doing this to seem cool." Im not. This is just my opinion. It's just every single time someone posts a thread saying the news has reported a death you're here singing from the same hymn sheet. And I know you claim otherwise but it does look like you just do it to play devil's advocate. To be controversial... maybe that's just me though. That aside - you're alright Ben. Agro
A well known man who inspires people and is a symbol of human achievement, ingenuity, and exploration of our universe, dies. And at the same time, people are told about a person they've never heard of, and know nothing about, who had died off in a far away ghetto. And somehow the differences in the reactions of those people surprises some of you? It makes sense for more people to be saddened by the passing of someone they know the backstory too and have "known" for years, or for a majority of the examples given in this thread, decades. It would be illogical to think otherwise.
