New Archetype - The Chaos Spellcasters!!!

Ever wondered how it would feel to play a viable Spellcaster deck in the present meta? Tired of getting your Dark Magician pwned and destroyed before it has the chance to declare an attack? Frustrated with the unbearably slow pace of Spellcaster decks, or their lack of tier power? Worry no more, for the Chaos Spellcasters are here! This new archetype will fill the field with Spellcaster-type monsters and leave your opponent beckoning for mercy.

Overall, this set of cards is based on a simple ideal - field swarming. Due to their excessive ability to Special Summon other Spellcaster-type monsters from the Deck, they create a strong attack force that, when used to Synchro and XYZ summon, can generate powerful effects (based on traditional Chaos cards such as Chaos Sorcerer). Additionally, there's one unstoppable card in this kit (although extremely difficult to summon), the Infinite Chaos Master of the Greater Magic, that is almost completely uncounterable. He is, in essence, the third "Victory Card" - the other two being Exodia and the God Cards.

However, the most essential aspect of this deck is its link between LIGHT and DARK monsters. All the LIGHT monsters ("Heavens" monsters) benefit DARK monsters ("Shadows" monsters), and vice-versa. Key to the functionality of this deck is the field spell, which changes the Attribute of all monsters you control to LIGHT or DARK, thus allowing your monsters to benefit themselves AND activate a special effect. This synergy between the two attributes leads to literally "Chaotic" combos that can be devastating to the opponent.

So, without further ado, I introduce you to the cards:

So now that I've shown you all the cards, I'm sure that you've picked up on the combos that I'm trying to incorporate. The trump card, Infinite Chaos Master of the Greater Magic, probably makes more sense as to why its almost impossible to counter, but it also takes a long time to get out (plus, its lesser counterparts are easily destroyed by battle). This Deck that runs on mixing LIGHT and DARK to create a mix of Chaos XYZ and Synchro's has a lot of power in the Spellcaster World, and can easily be used to summon traditional cards like Dark Paladin and Sorcerer of Dark Magic (Using Chaos Summoner and Chaos Seeker to carry out the preparations). The field spell plays a huge role in this deck; hence, I added several support cards to help find this essential card, without which, the deck is essentially useless.

Guys, please comment on this post! I want to see what you all think and want tips on how to improve, balance, and fix this Deck. (Also, praise is much appreciated :)) The first archetype I made was an inherent failure (the Ritualist Spellcasters), so I designed this one to compensate. I hope its good, and I'm waiting to see what everyone else thinks!

There are a few OCG errors. Like "destroy one card" should be "destroy 1 card. Also, you should make it so they get effects when one of them is destroyed instead. Because cards are really easy to "leave" the field. Like going to hand, deck, graveyard, being used for a synchro. Conjurer can really abuse that since you can synchwith 2 others and she gets her effect for more synchroing. Also, Messenger needs to lose that Special Summon effect. Because the way its worded is that it can constantly Summon that monster at any time during the turn if your opponent doesnt have any cards. Also, not only do they have a clear field. You can get crazy advantage. Overall... 7.5/10

I see your point with Messenger, so I'll make sure to remove the part where he Special Summons a copy from the Deck. As far as the leave the field aspect is concerned, please give me some specific examples. Then I can see where to go. Conjurer, for example, has that effect so he can work with cards like "Illusionist of Shadows" while the field spell is active and all monsters are treated as LIGHT ones. Thus, when Illusionist leaves the field by its own effect, Conjurer's effect triggers, which created the kind of dynamic combo I was hoping to create.

Made the following changes:

Fixed the image links on the XYZ monsters.

Balanced out Messenger of Chaos.

Balanced out Conjurer of Chaos
Guys, please comment on this post. BUMP. I want more feedback, after making these changes, and more on the general deck. please :)

It seems the archetype tries to do everything, rather than focus on something unique for the archetype. Also, I don't see how "Sacrifice of the Shadows" could destroy itself. Some card, such as "Chaos Rebounder" are very over-powered. I'd give it a 6/10, as it seems to be a bunch of cards with the same name but with such varied effects.

Link to comment

Sacrifice of the Shadows can destroy itself because of the effect of the field spell (that changes all monsters to LIGHT or DARK, depending on the phase of the turn). The goal of the set is to benefit the monsters when they become their opposite attribute. For example, "Enlightened Wizard of Shadows" can, under normal circumstances, target itself and add Chaos Counters on itself, but when it becomes a LIGHT attribute monster (due to the field spell), it can no longer target itself and thus is able to Special Summon a monster(s) from the Deck.

EDIT: 9:59 PM, 8/29/2012 (Monday)
Made the following changes:

Changes Chaos Rebounder's Effect to return the attacking monster to the opponent's hand (instead of destroying it).

Edited the Field Spell (Gates of Chaos) to be more simple yet equally effective. In doing so, the card was made easier to use (with less ambiguous timings) and more difficult to strategize with.
BUMP. More comments on the cards please, not just ratings. Please :)
