Crystal Blue (Gishkisworm)

So, seeing that the new banlist that was posted some time ago was confirmed, and Gustkrake is limited in there, I decided to abuse the hell out of all my Gustkrake-related decks while I can. Though this one runs only two (one will probably be replaced for a Tetrogre for the next format).

It mixes the sackyness of Lightsworms with the Gishki consistency, creating some rather amusing results. I practically haven't touched the decklist since I made it, so there you go.

I can see where you're going. A mixed deck of LS to dump and Gishki to take it from grave. But with the monster list in which consists about 50-50 LS and Gishki, if this deck were mine, I would to decrease the Solar Recharge, Gishki ritual card, Salvage, and that submarine card.
At simple statistic, with 50-50, the probaility your hand is full of LS or Gishki is about 12.5%, 25% mixed, and the rest is spell trap.

Solar recharge would be a dead draw if you got full Gishki/ no LS at hand, that's roughly 55% of estimation. (-3)

Salvage would be dead hand if you don't have plenty Gishki at your Graveyard, or even if you do, there is chance that you can't drag the ritual card to your hand. Except if you have the gishki that can be traded for it already plunged inside the Grave. (-1 salvage)

That submarine card only can revive 2 Gishki cards from your list, 6 over 40 in deck ratio. ( -1 or -2)

That Gishki ritual card is easily searched with the abyss and of course, the trader. Usually I brought 2 copies, not 3.
Moreover, as you thin your deck with LS ability, the chance that you will draw the card will always grow, because you can bounce it back to your deck. (-1)

Garoth wouldn't be as powerful as where it will be at LS deck. So does the Gishki Beast, although it is slightly better than Garoth. ( both -1)
Garoth effect would require another LS, and the odd is slimmer as 50% of the monster not LS.
Maybe another Ryko or Wulf will do the job. Wulf here also at ankward position just like Garoth, but if you like him, I would recommend 2 or nothing at all. I know the possibility of bad hands with more Wulf, but with a single Wulf, you'll rarely saw him into action. Moreover, when the number of LS decreased, so does the mill mechanism. (+1 or -1 Wulf, +1 Ryko)

I would swap one of the Mind Augus with Zeal Gigas, most of the time, I'll prefer to summon a more battle ready monster than a recycler. Augus is a fine card, in fact that it is one of my favorite card for Gishki, but I always bring one but never more. It is easily bump-ed back to my hand from the Graveyard when I need it. As long it has already at the Grave, and another Aquamirror. (-1 Augus, +1 Gigas)

Then, after reducing a significant amount of cards, I would put some staples such as Solemn Warning, Dark Hole, Mirror Force, or Torrential Tribute.

Wow, that's probably the most elaborated comment I've ever recived on a deck. Before anything else, thanks!

Recharge at 3 might be too much since I don't run that many LS, I'll consider dropping 1, but no more than that since it grants really good milling and consistency.

You only need 3 of Abyss, Vision and Shadow to make 3 Salvages live, and in a deck as fast as this one having some of them in the grave should happen as fast as turn 1. 3 is a must in almost every Gishki variant in my oppinion.

I really like Surfacing because it's a +1 with Abyss and helps making Gachi and Phoenix. I might consider dropping 1 though.

I've also tested bulids with only two Aquamirrors, and they work just fine. So yeah, -1 of those.

Gishki Beast is my best way of making Rank 4s, adding some variant to the deck. It stays.

It is true that I don't get to use Garoth's effect very often, but I want to keep my LS count high enough to make JD playable. Maybe if I ever try a JD-less variant I'd drop Garoth and maybe Wolf.

I'm iffy about running different-leveled Evigishkis in the same deck, but I guess Zeal Gigas' raw force would be very welcome in this deck. I'll try that out for a while.

So, I think I will go with:

-1 Gishki Aquamirror
-1 Solar Recharge
-1 Evigishki Mind Ogress

+1 Dark Hole (don't know why I didn't have it in the first place)
+1 Torrential Tribute
+1 Evigishki Zeal Gigas

Oh, and:

-1 Evigishki Merrowgeist

+1 Maestroke the Symphonic Djinn

Maestroke is too good to not be run.
