He is relatively short standing at 5'7", but despite that, he has a lean, muscular build. He wears a black headband which blue Ainu styled patterns on it. He usually dresses in all black. He is most commonly seen wearing a black high collared vest with blue lining and Ainu styled patterns over a plain black shirt and black pants with the hemline rolled up a a couple of inches above his ankles, showing off his black boots. Ed also wears a black trench coat with blue lining and Ainu styled patterns. He also has a black dragon tattoo and Ainu styled markings going up the length of his right arm. [b]Bio:[/b] Ed was born to a a male vampire and a human mother. When word of his birth got to the vampires, they dispatched soldiers to kill him and his parents. Before the soldiers came, Ed's parents gave him to a elderly priest who happened to be passing through. When the soldiers came, they killed his parents. The soldiers couldn't find Ed, so they killed the townsfolk and burned the village. The priest raised Ed until he was 8. Right before the priest died, he told Ed of his origins and left him at an orphanage. Ed didn't stay at the orphanage for long. He left when he was 10 and become the apprentice of the local mage so he could learn magic. Once Ed had learned enough, he left and started traveling around learning magic from wizards and mages he came across. He drew a liking towards elemental magic, especially ice magic. Then, when he was 15, Ed came across the way of the sword. He found a master willing to teach him and quickly became proficient at it in a years time. For be his best student, Ed's master gave him the sword he uses now. When he finished his sword training, he traveled up north to train and hone his ice magic. He found a tribe of ice mages living in the northernmost region. Ed became the apprentice of the tribe to learn their ways of ice magic. He quickly adopted their clothing style and mannerisms. They trained him to his limits and beyond, but he didn't quit. They taught him powerful ice magicks, which he integrated into his sword fighting style, and important life lessons. They also taught him his love for nature and all its living things. For four long years, they trained him and when they were teaching, they gave Ed a parting gift. They gave him the markings on his arm, so he could use his black dragon technique. He thanked them and left. He joined the Resistance shortly and became a valuable for their cause. His cause, however, was to get revenge for his parents and to protect the nature the loved so much. [b]Personality:[/b] Ed is good-natured and cheerful, but gets serious in dangerous situations. He is also very secretive about him being half vampire leading him to not be willing to talk about it and be visibly enraged whenever it gets revealed. In addition, he can get very competitive. He was taught from a young age to respect and admire nature. Ed can be a very responsible person, too, for he can take care of himself and others on his own. He is also a very sensitive guy that can easily be provoked and his moods change quickly. As a fighter and in battle, Ed is very unbiased when it comes to his enemies. He shows the same degree of ruthlessness to his foes - regardless of age or gender. [b]Faction:[/b] Humans [b]Abilities:[/b] Ed is adept in the art of swordsmanship and carries a katana with a dark purple handle and a circular hand guard with an ornate sheath. Ed is capable of most elemental magic and specializes in ice magic, which he uses in battle. In combat, he usually creates icicles and launches them at his opponents or he freezes the ground and creates ice spikes meant to impale multiple opponents. When at close range and not using his sword, he freezes his hand into the shape of a large spear or lance to impale his opponent or creates a pair enormous ice gauntlets which go up to his elbows and shields extend up to protect the rest of his arms. Because of the marking on his arms, Ed can create a dragon made of black flames. Age: 148 (appears 25) Appearance: 6' 4", athletic physique, ghostly pale purplish skin. Raven's eyes are blood-red and glow red when she uses her powers. Her black hair is shoulder length and kept in a ponytail. She has two dark red horns growing out of top of her head on each side, forming crescents and pointing straight up. Her smile is full of fangs that are distinctly otherworldly and not vampiric. Her body is covered in black daemonic runes and symbols, the most notable of which are the stylized and heavily runed pentagram on her back and Raven's contract in daemon script spiraling around her arms. These runes glow red when she uses her powers as well. Her normal attire consists of a silk and steel bustier that leaves her shoulders and midriff bare, a steel chain belt covered in runes, a long silk and steel mesh skirt patterned for maximum protection, and steel plate boots. Bio: Raven was born an orphan and raised under vampire oppression. Being a human orphan during those times meant being snatched up by the scum of the vampire nobility. While most human orphans had magic to defend themselves with, Raven was born without any control over magic, leaving her with only her wits. Although Raven was able to escape such a fate by pretending to be a servant girl for other nobles, an observant brothel owner caught onto her ruse and snatched her off the streets. The owner horribly mistreated Raven, allowing his clientele to do unspeakable things to her, some of which almost killed her. Death was something she would constantly beg for, but never would she be able to die. The brothel owner made large sums of money from clientele who wanted to unleash their most sordid fantasies and made sure that Raven was kept alive. However, one night when Raven was servicing one particular client with low stamina, she was able to escape through an unlocked door. She ran out of the city and kept running until she found herself in wilderness controlled by human bandits. Her hopes of finding sanctuary were dashed as every band of rebels she encountered refused to associate with her on the suspicion that she was a vampire spy. Although she manage to scavenge a little food and water from the land, she soon found herself dying if starvation. When she was about to die, an old hermit found her in her pitiful state and brought her back to his hut. He fed her, watered her, dressed her wounds and clothed her, bringing her back to health. Raven was grateful and asked the hermit how he managed to giver her so much when he had so little. The hermit then revealed himself to be an Elvish priest for one of the Old Gods, Daggoth. He said that all of her health came from the benevolence of the dark god. Wanting to give thanks and praise to the god who saved her, she asked the hermit to arrange a meeting with the dark god. From the smoke of the hermit's fire, Daggoth appeared before Raven. The dark god continued to be benevolent, offering her to grant her another favor. Raven requested revenge against all of the world, which had done nothing but try to torture her. Daggoth was willing to give her the means to do so, but requested that she show her devotion by slaying the hermit. Never having killed anyone, Raven hesitated before picking up a rock and beating the old hermit to death with it. After doing so, she gained her ability to teleport. With her new found power, she returned to the city. The city streets ran red as she killed the owner of the brothel and all of the clientele which had used her, making sure they died with terror in their eyes. After each kill, she tore out their hearts as an offering to Daggoth before flaying them and hanging their mangled bodies from the roofs of their houses. After killing them all, Daggoth offered her the chance to exact her revenge against the world be acting as the agent of chaos on his behalf. She gladly accepted the contract and gained the rest of her abilities. At first, her resolve was strong. She sowed the seeds of discord throughout the human-vampire war on both sides. However, as the years passed, Raven found herself becoming the monster she hated when Daggoth commanded her to torture and slay children to cause anguish to their parents. After 148 years, Raven slowly started to question her contract to this dark god... Personality: Raven is usually a very cynical and amoral person who takes pleasure in seeing the world burn. This unsavory attitude came from a combination of daemonic influence from her master, Daggoth of the Chaos, and from her deep seated resentment for both races which rejected her. Ever since making the deal with Daggoth, Raven relishes combat, preferring to settle her problems with the drawing of blood. She has little to no trust in others, keeping all concerns to herself. Despite how inhuman she may appear, the forgotten and rejected Raven before her transformation remains, locked behind a shell of violence and chaos. Faction: Neutral, opposed to order and control, helping underdogs destroy their oppressors only to abandon them before they can consolidate power. Abilities: Teleportation - Raven can effortlessly teleport herself and up to two other people using her Void powers. She can teleport short distances that she can see during combat to get to a better position, but can also teleport very long distances under certain conditions. If she draws a certain symbol on a flat area and gives an offering of blood to it, she can teleport to a different location with the same symbol, no matter the distance. Overuse of this ability will cause Raven to be trapped in a pocket dimension until she dies. Arcana Runes - Raven can invoke the power of the 22 Major Arcana by drawing the appropriate runes on the subject. Most of the effects are beneficial, like restoring health and strength, but some have drastic negative effects. Also, drawing the runes in the wrong order will cause the opposite effect on both the subject and Raven, possibly leading to death. Eternal Life - Raven is immune to aging. In addition, when Raven dies (which happens often), she will come back to life after one hour passes at locations filled with dark energy. Raven can make such an arcane location, but doing so requires many resources and Raven has only created one, at the location where she first contacted Daggoth. Void Blade - Raven can use void energy to form melee weapons, her favourite being an overarm blade. She can temporarily empower her weapon with more energy, making it able to vibrate rapidly, allowing it to penetrate armor and even solid rock. He stands a bit taller than the average height for one of his race, and as far as muscles he's not built much more than the average swordsman would be. His skin is far from natural in color, being a pale grey that appears silver in the appropriate light. When it comes to choosing his clothing, he opts to wear a suit of segmented armor plates permanently colored black with crimson runes unrecognizable to most onlookers painted over them. When wearing this armor, he adds a helmet formed in the shape of a dragon's head with the eyes positioned in such a way as to allow him to see through them. Speaking of his face, he sports a strongly squared off jaw ending in a cleft chin. His cheeks are full and healthy and his cheek bones sit at the average height to be neither too high nor too low. The most shocking features of his face, however, are his complete lack of any facial hair and the fact that his eyes are solid globes of green, seeming to have been blown from fine glass.[/spoiler] [b][spoiler=Bio:][/b] Iron Dragon was not always as he is. He was, at one time, the renowned scientist, sorcerer, and researcher on the Elvish Language Doctor Sa'lien employed by Lord Elnaer to research a form of weapon of the ancient elves which combined magic and machine. The weapon itself was almost entirely in ruin, and little progress was made in its research until the good doctor made his way to the ruins in which the weapon had been discovered. A set of schematics and detailed instructions for the creation of the weapon were discovered and taken back to Sa'lien's lab in the vampiric capital city, and revealed the weapon to be a sort of mechanical humanoid warrior. After several years of research into the schematics, gathering the necessary resources, and the recreation of the mechanisms outlined in the schematics for the weapon's construction Sa'lien began the process of actually producing the device. Another few years went into the construction of the device and the mysterious infinite power source which drove it and seemed to require the application of blood to the device's core. A suit of armor for the weapon to be clad in was also produced, curiously enough requiring that the helm be shaped into a dragon's head. Due to a lack of understanding of the ancient Elves, there was no thought as to any effect beyond the desired one. Eventually, the time came for the Device to be powered up and thus Sa'lien arranged for his lord to be present when the weapon was active. As such, Sa'lien quickly completed the necessary placement of the humanoid figure with its surprisingly pale grey skin in the center of a runic circle standing alone and clad in the segmented armor which had been made for it. Things came to a head as he slashed open his palm and placed the open chest cavity of it. Moments later, Sa'lien felt the life drain from his body and crumpled to the floor just as Elnaer entered his laboratory. The construct's chest cavity slowly closed and its green eyes came alight as the good doctor's blood washed across its armor and permanently stained the red runes upon it. Though this is unknown, the construct is in fact powered by Sa'lien's soul and it is he himself trapped within it. Regardless, as the Vampire Lord entered the room he found the construct standing over Sa'lien's corpse and assumed the creation had gone out of control and killed the scientist. The creature was ordered killed on the spot, but escaped from the lab and eventually hooked up with a group of rebels in the capital who dubbed him "Iron Dragon". For several years Iron Dragon fought with these rebels, doing damage to the Vampiric war machine from the inside, putting his considerable intellect to work. However all this came to an end when a raid on the Rebel's hideout ended in Iron Dragon's capture and imprisonment by the vampires to await a decision as to his fate.[/spoiler] [b]Personality:[/b] The man likes to stay quiet and focus as much as possible on whatever task is at hand at the time. However, when it comes time for revelry, he can be loud and boisterous like no other despite his inability to become drunk or even feed on anything. Though he himself does not benefit from either side being victorious directly, he has put his support behind the Humans but could potentially be persuaded away from that path. Of course, he does not know that he used to be Doctor Sa'lien and all he knows about his life as the doctor is what he has been told about the Vampire's leader in weapons development. He is able to morph the fingers on his hands into lethally sharp claws heated well beyond the melting point of steel but somehow manage to maintain solid form(magic). He is capable of growing a pair of wings which bear the same coloration of his skin and allow for flight. Finally, he has access to several dragon breath type weapons including flames, clouds of toxic gas, acid spray, and even a freezing breath. I submit my app to be judged. And the Elves in Eragon had mastered metallurgy so I think that something like this would involve metal. After several years of research into the schematics, gathering the necessary resources, and the recreation of the mechanisms through which arcane energies were to be channeled outlined in the schematics for the weapon's construction Sa'lien began the process of actually producing the device. Another few years went into the construction of the device and the mysterious infinite power source, a bizarre egg-shaped green stone, which drove it and seemed to require the application of blood to the device's core. A suit of armor for the weapon to be clad in was also produced, curiously enough requiring that the helm be shaped into a dragon's head. Due to a lack of understanding of the ancient Elves, there was no thought as to any effect beyond the desired one. Eventually, the time came for the Device to be powered up and thus Sa'lien arranged for his lord to be present when the weapon was active. As such, Sa'lien quickly completed the necessary placement of the humanoid figure with its surprisingly pale grey skin in the center of a runic circle standing alone and clad in the segmented armor which had been made for it. Things came to a head as he slashed open his palm and placed it upon the green stone in the humanoid's chest cavity where the heart would be in a human. Moments later, Sa'lien felt the life drain from his body and crumpled to the floor just as Elnaer entered his laboratory. The construct's chest cavity slowly closed and its green eyes came alight as the good doctor's blood washed across its armor and permanently stained the red runes upon it. Though he himself does not know it, Sa'lien became the being that would become Iron Dragon, his soul providing control of the construct powered by the green stone. Regardless, as the Vampire Lord entered the room he found the construct standing over Sa'lien's corpse and assumed the creation had gone out of control and killed the scientist. The creature was ordered killed on the spot, but escaped from the lab and eventually hooked up with a group of rebels in the capital who dubbed him "Iron Dragon". For several years Iron Dragon fought with these rebels, doing damage to the Vampiric war machine from the inside, putting his considerable intellect to work. However all this came to an end when a raid on the Rebel's hideout ended in Iron Dragon's capture and imprisonment by the vampires to await a decision as to his fate.[/spoiler] [b]Personality:[/b] The man likes to stay quiet and focus as much as possible on whatever task is at hand at the time. However, when it comes time for revelry, he can be loud and boisterous like no other despite his inability to become drunk or even feed on anything. Though he himself does not benefit from either side being victorious directly, he has put his support behind the Humans but could potentially be persuaded away from that path. Of course, he does not know that he used to be Doctor Sa'lien and all he knows about his life as the doctor is what he has been told about the Vampire's leader in weapons development. [b]Faction:[/b] Humans [b]Abilities:[/b] As his name suggests, Iron Dragon has several abilities which could be associated with the winged fire-breathing lizards. He is able to morph the fingers on his hands into lethally sharp claws heated well beyond the melting point of steel but somehow manage to maintain solid form(magic). He is capable of growing a pair of wings which bear the same coloration of his skin and allow for flight. Finally, he has access to several dragon breath type weapons including flames, clouds of toxic gas, acid spray, and even a freezing breath. I'm a fricking insomniac and I still managed to get about 2 hours asleep. You dont seem to have left! You are British, aren't you? XD[/quote] Indeed. @Ketodama: well, I suppose I may as well accept~ just, don't try to explain the elf-and-dragon thing or you may spoil the entirety of Legend Fire e_e ....okay? The character itself IS interesting though, but for timeline's sake, its planning came after Feredir and all those elf wars so he wouldn't know about it.
