Well, basically the imperial age was the time when the art of chemistry was discovered. That's the only fact about the imperial age that I remember off the top of my head (which I knew because in Age of Empires II, that's the age in which you can research Chemistry), but I'll see if I can find a wikipedia page and edit this post with it, just so you get an idea.. That's the main reason why I asked; my vampire's supposed to be something akin to the scientist, and if I suddenly realize that chemistry wouldn't be available, then I'll have to redo a good portion of my app. I've fallen into that trap before, having made a character that was supposed to have lived through a certain war, [i]before[/i] I realized said war was supposed to have happened 5,000 years ago =/

...

But yeah, my vampire's kinda relying on the discovery of chemistry [i]actually[/i] being made. Probably should've thought about that before I went ahead with it.

He is relatively short standing at 5'7", but despite that, he has a lean, muscular build. He wears a black headband which blue Ainu styled patterns on it. He usually dresses in all black. He is most commonly seen wearing a black high collared vest with blue lining and Ainu styled patterns over a plain black shirt and black pants with the hemline rolled up a a couple of inches above his ankles, showing off his black boots. Ed also wears a black trench coat with blue lining and Ainu styled patterns. He also has a black dragon tattoo and Ainu styled markings going up the length of his right arm.

[b]Personality:[/b] Ed is good-natured and cheerful, but gets serious in dangerous situations. He is also very secretive about him being half vampire leading him to not be willing to talk about it and be visibly enraged whenever it gets revealed. In addition, he can get very competitive. He was taught from a young age to respect and admire nature. Ed can be a very responsible person, too, for he can take care of himself and others on his own. He is also a very sensitive guy that can easily be provoked and his moods change quickly. As a fighter and in battle, Ed is very unbiased when it comes to his enemies. He shows the same degree of ruthlessness to his foes - regardless of age or gender.

[b]Abilities:[/b] Ed is adept in the art of swordsmanship and carries a katana with a dark purple handle and a circular hand guard with an ornate sheath. Ed is capable of most elemental magic and specializes in ice magic, which he uses in battle. In combat, he usually creates icicles and launches them at his opponents or he freezes the ground and creates ice spikes meant to impale multiple opponents. When at close range and not using his sword, he freezes his hand into the shape of a large spear or lance to impale his opponent or creates a pair enormous ice gauntlets which go up to his elbows and shields extend up to protect the rest of his arms. Because of the marking on his arms, Ed can create a dragon made of black flames. The dragon is extremely powerful, destroying almost anything it touches, but, since it uses so much power and stamina, he must rest after using it.

Her face is... attractive for the most part, consisting of a small nose, light red eyes and long black hair, which goes down her back and below her waist, where it is tied together and held in place with a band. On the lower right area of her face, under her lip is scar tissue; apparently from a burn or a chemical accident or something; Maria doesn't like talking about the incident that is connected with...
[b]Bio:[/b] The Sancran family throughout history has been known to put the safety of vampirekind first. Even their support for the truce those years ago was all to ensure that vampires were not all killed in a bloody war. Maria, however, was different. When growing up, she was taught to respect all sapient life. Whether human or vampire, each life should be treated the same.

...Of course, this would make her averse to the current war. For her part, not many know that she is against the war, aside for her reluctance to actually fight, which is attributed to her not being much of a fighter. This is because she is very patriotic, and is proud of her lineage, and proud of her race. And she will try to fight back in her own way if humans threaten them.

Throughout her life she has positioned herself on the forefront of vampiric science, much needed in the face of the fact that most vampires cannot use magic. Even within her family, the traces of noble blood have been thinning to the point that they too will be unable to use magic, even with a magical focus. Focusing on various disciplines, particularly chemistry and metalworking, she has made a few breakthroughs that would make the lives of the common vampire easier. This was before she was drafted to design siege weaponry, of course. Still, she continues to work diligently, hoping for the end of war so she can get back to her real job.
[b]Personality:[/b] Maria is calm and composed... most of the time. When it comes to 'SCIENCE!', she can't help but get passionate. After all, new discoveries always make her day. Persistent to a fault, if she sees the goal in sight she does not let up. One may suspect that her scar had came from an experiment that went out of control. Still, while she is persistent, she is usually careful and knows her limits... and which of those she break.

When dealing with others, she will sometimes talk about random things; she is still a little restless in that way. Still, she is compassionate, and can understand the humans, and why they would fight back. Unfortunately for them, she does not hesitate to kill in self defense of herself, or her people. Still, she wants the war to end, and thinks that Elnaer is unjust and foolish in ending the truce and returning world to war. Needlessly endangering the lives of the people; that is something she cannot forgive.

[b]Abilities:[/b] With a device she calles the 'casting rod' (a small cylindrical and hollow piece of metal, no bigger than a finger, filled with carefully preserved royal blood from her distant ancestors), she is able to use magic. With her thinned bloodline, she can only manipulate and create lightning and electricity. large displays of power is dangerous, though, and she risks injury, loss of magical potential, and even death.
When in combat, she relies on various vials and tonics she keeps stored inside her labcoat. Fortunately for her, they don't shatter easily, though they do need to be prepared once she uses them up.

Appearance: Lyon is tall, standing at approximately 6 foot 2, and solidly built. His body is firm and toned, due to the long hours spent training his body. He has pale skin, though that skin is somewhat tanned after fighting out in the sun for most of his life, and copper red hair that stands out against his skin. His eyes are a deep blue colour that darken while he's using his magic. He typically wears a set of iron armour when fighting that he often reinforces with ice, and a tight-fitting, plain black shirt and shorts underneath the armour. When he isn't wearing the armour, the tight-fitting black shirt shows off the muscles lying underneath it.

Bio: Lyon's parents and grandparents were cast out and made into an exiled branch of the family after they tried to stop the oppression of some of the humans shortly before the war. After the end of the was, all records about their branch of the family was lost and the main family refused to acknowledge them as having any sort of royal blood, which caused his parents to become quite bitter about the whole ordeal, raising him to dislike the vampire's royal family for the start of his life. His parents eventually turned savage, consumed by their hatred of the royal family, and went wild against a town of humans, falsely believing that they would gain more power by drinking human blood. This ended up with a group of bounty hunters that were hired by the state to kill rogue humans and vampires, killing his parents and grandparents. Lyon was spared only because he was still only about five years old, too young to be set in his beliefs, so they instead took him as part of their group.

Through that, he ended up as part of that group for all of his life, up till the start of the war, travelling round to kill the vampires who got out of control killing humans, as well as the humans who turn against the peaceful vampires. All that time he learnt a wide variety of skills, between fighting with physical weapons and learning to use his magic, while all the time gaining an understanding of the world through the eyes of those he travelled with. The group he was with was constantly increasing and decreasing in numbers, as members were killed or retired, and new memebers joined. Making the most of his abilities as a vampire and with royal blood in his veins, he became one of the strongest fighters of the group, although he refused leadership of the group when offered, prefering to keep his position as the leader's right hand man instead.

When the war started, his group got caught in the middle of one of the attacks, in a village they had gone to in order to stop what was reported as a wild vampire, but instead turned out to be a whole group of vampires using the village as a base, and answering straight to the vampire lord, Elnaer von Mirai. His group was all but wiped out, and him spared only because he was a fellow vampire, the only one amongst the group at the time. Running away from those vampires at the first possible moment, he found his way to the start of the resistance and joined it, often clashing in opinions with John, particularly about concerning vampires. Even so, he managed to again make his way to the position of the group's second in command after proving himself to the resistance, even with John disagreeing with that placement. With his abilities over water and ice, Lyon often also ends up stopping any major fires John sets when on the field of battle.

Personality: Lyon has a fairly realistic grasp of his own abilities and those of the members of the resistance, prefering to fight battles with a high chance of winning to those with a low chance. Having fought all his life, Lyon has a good grasp of both strategy and tactics, as well as the constant brutility that is the battlefield, and as such somewhat expects to lose some of the rebellion with each fight against the vampires. He also believes that the humans and vampires can co-exist in harmony, though he knows that even so, such a peace would be fragile, as with the last peace, and would like to bring the world to a point where the vampires and humans can co-operate without malicious intent to each other. Lyon is straightforward, expressing his views without worry about who he might offend, which have caused disagreements with John multiple times.

Faction: Humans
Abilities: Being from a disgraced branch family of the royal family, Lyon has some skill with magic, and after spending most of his life training his magic and fighting abilities, he is quite capable with what he can do. His type of magic is the ability to wield and manipulate the various forms of water, usually using the solid form of water, ice, as his main style of attacking. Using that ice, he can form various sorts of weapons, his favourites being a sword or a crossbow, depending on how close to the battle he is. He also sometimes wields pure water rather than a creation made by it, often in the form of small ice shards to form a deadly hailstorm, sharp blades made from water that he throws at the opponent with decent accuracy, or spherical balls of water that he can fire at his opponent that explode outwards upon hitting an object. His physical abilities are hiqh quality too, after long hours of training to improve his latent abilities as a vampire, to the point where he could defeat most humans without any difficulty, and match the skills of, and defeat, multiple vampires at once, up to the point where he could match the skills of the vampires royal guard without too much trouble.

Well, you asked for it, so a vampire is now second-in-command of the [i]human's[/i] last stand. Yay. Expect John to try to send him on suicidal missions and constantly try to replace him with somebody else, a human. xD

Anyway, here's the head of the Guards, and Elnaer's drinking buddy apparently.

Adrian stands at about 6', tall and perfectly straight, his thin figure hiding the incredible Strength and Speed bestowed on him due to his Pure Vampiric Bloodline. His face is cold and ruthless, a horrible grin revealing his pointed fangs almost constantly on his face, a terror for the inhabitants of Nuevida's dungeons. His ice-white hair is spread messily across his head, almost blending with his pastel white face. His eyes are faint purple, and seem to emit hatred and cruelty with every glance.
His clothes are thin and more for show than for use, for his skin is almost as strong as Armour, and his speed allows him to avoid most attacks. Underneath his long black cloak lies 3 swords and their sheaths, 2 on his right hip and one on his left. This are accompanied by 2 hilts peeping over his left shoulder[/spoiler]
Bio: Adrian is descended from a great line of Powerful Vampires, reknowned for their coldness, cruelty, strength and thirst for human blood. They were once a great family, almost alongside that of the Royals, and during the last war they were one of the most valuable assets in terms of producing soldiers and for getting information.
However, after the end of the War, they were one of the first families to be exiled. Their hatred of humans, and their longing for human blood led them to be much too wild for the new, civilised treaty, and the members were either exiled or killed.
Only a few survived in the empire, Adrian's family being one. Previously merely a Guard - and a hunter of Humans by night - he was instantly promoted under Elnaer's regime, a popular choice due to his incredible talents and hatred/hunger for humans. He became popular with Elnaer especially, and is Elnaer's Human blood delivery man, as well as drinking partner. This has resulted in Adrian having knowledge of most of the Empire's runnings, and much influence within the army. He is also the personal 'carer' of both 'The Elf', and Elnaer's 'Dead' Brother, the young Prince.
Personality: Adrian is the epitamy of Evil Vampires, fitting the ancient stereotype almost perfectly. His cold, pale face desplays most of his personality easily. His cunning and ruthless grin puts an expression of a maniac, a cold killer who lives to torture people, directly onto his face, and yet his decisive and cool eyes betray the hidden intelligence and the dark humour he has.
He is very proud of his pure Vampiric Bloodline, one of the few left in existance, and proclaims it to go directly back to the Dark Elves, the fathers of the Vampiric race. While this is probably untrue, and would make his bloodline more pure than even the Royal Family, his bloodline is very pure and integrates with the Royal blood at some points.
He is very calculating and maniacal, able to get into the thoughts of his prisoners, steal all their secrets, and then torture them in the cruelest fashions often with just his words, which he has a natural talent for using. He is often described as 'Evil beyond Compare', even by his own colleagues, and relishes in the title, as such he has become one of Elnaer's most useful weapons and soldiers, though not trusted.
He is also fond of Human blood, even more so than Elnaer, and has been drinking it illegally for years. He has recently become drinking partners of Elnaer, though he does prefer to go out and hunt himself, as opposed to drinking it from a cup. He prefers to 'Drink it straight from the bottle', if you like. XD
Faction: Vampires
Abilities: His rather small connection to the Royal family only gives him a small amount of magic in his blood. But this magic is enough to heighten his senses and physical abilities to that above normal Vampires, and allows him to control all 5 of his swords through telekinesis, though his telekinesis only affects these blades. His pure Vampiric Bloodline, going back generations, also bestows him with Physical strength and speed equal to those of the Royal Bloodline, for his body is not tainted by Human weakness. His swordsman skills are nigh unequalled among the Vampiric Community, his many years training and killing spent wisely, for he is one of the Greatest Swordsman to have come from Vampiric Descent. Not really. A species is a different type of animal. Since we're all Homo-sapien, it's racist not Speciesist. This it would be different species, because Vampires are not Homo-sapiens [s](I'd probably say Homo-Vampyric or something like that.)[/s] (EDIT It would actually be Homo-Desmodus I'd think, as the Vampire bat familiy is the Desmodontidae family.)
