[color=#000000]So yeah. I'm back. I took a break from card contests (and card making in general) and went to the TCG and Creative Writing Sections. They are pretty lively there and pretty much everyone is humorous (I lol'ed so much :P ). Also, there is always some discussion going on about bad card design, the current format, overpowered cards, etc. etc. Needless to say (but I'm going to say it anyway), you can learn some stuff and have fun while you're at it. Anyway I was wondering what kind of contest to hold next when I found a picture of this guy:[/color]

ANYWAY, ignoring the sexiness above, this image gave me an idea for another exciting, challenging contest. Enjoy ;)

1. Donate 30 points to enter.
2. No lateness of any kind will be tolerated. It will result in immediate disqualification.
3. I will accept contestants until August 21st. unless I get all contestants before then, in which case I will start the Judging Process early.
4. Cards will be due on August 28th. Unless I get all cards in early, in which case I will start the Judging Process Early.
5. Post any contest cards here in the forum, and they can be changed anytime as long as I haven't started Judging them.

You must make a retrained, Xyz version of some of the most broken/overpowered cards ever designed. After you have donated points, posts in this topic what card you will retrain, and that's pretty much it. [b]Please[/b] DON'T select a card another member already picked.

Since you will be 'retraining' a badly designed card, the overall design will be a HUGE part of the scoring (half of it, actually). [i][i]Woah, you got this in pretty fast. My only issue is that retrained monsters generally have a slightly differemt name, with a picture that looks similar to the original monster, but that's just me being picky and it's not a real problem. The REAL issue is that I would have to give this card a 0 in the overall card design, which is half your score. This is splashable in any deck that runs level 8, but it's wayyyyyy worse than the original version. For this contest, what I'm looking for is more balanced and better designed veriosns of the card you pick. Not . . . this. I don;t want you to get confused with retraining a monster to make it stronger, when this contest is geared toward balance and better card design.[/i][/i]

Kenji, we had to do Xyz versions of them. Not just a basic retrain. (And yes, I am always going to call you Kenji.)

So, this is my entry. Do tell me if there are any immediate problems with it and I will rectify them.

Lore: Whilst this card is face up on the field negate the activation and effects of all Spell cards. During each of your End Phases; detach one Xyz Material from this card. When this card has no Xyz Material; destroy it. During the turn this card is removed from the field; no Spell Cards may be activated.

Assuming you didn't make it with the Materials you need, it takes 2 turns. As written this can also be used for Ultimate Axon Kicker and such. You can play it as Foolish Burial, but Lavalval Chain is faster.

I'm really sorry you guys. I'm usually a far more active host, but things have been pretty busy lately (plus, I haven't been able to get to a computer like I've wanted to). Anyway I'm glad you all are still actively participating, and as a result of my absence, I will give contestants [b]ONE EXTRA WEEK to turn in cards. In terms of what this contest is supposed to be, you two have got it perfect. Different picture, different names, and reminiscent eff's. Great job. I look forward to grading them.

Alight it has been a week, and you all have had more than enough time. This contest is offically over, and I will accept no more entries. That means Enguin is disqualified for obivous reasons. I will begin judging and have prizes sent out within a week. Thank you for your participation and patience with me.
