"Keep an eye on what is going on outside, and do not let anyone in."

That was the last words that woman gave to the officer. He knew she had the authority to override his when she saw fit. She was commonly known by her last name ;Landon', though whether or not one called her Miss or Officer or left that part off entirely varied from person to person... she wasn't exactly a member of the force). He didn't even remember her first name. But the big thing is that she often sweeps in on strange cases like this, somehow sorts everything out, and closes the case with little fanfare. What happened would usually be glossed over and given only the minimal detail. It was a little frustrating.

Luck favored him that day, however. As he stepped out into the rain, he noticed the young woman who helped carry the injured man out of the building. He caught the tail end of the conversation. Something about a person being immune to bullets and not being crazy.

Jackpot.

Before the paramedic could reply to the story, the officer walked up to the two.

"So the patient is in the ambulance?" he asked the paramedic.

"Yes, we're about ready to transport him to the hospital."

"Good, we're going too." The officer then turned to Kuri. "We need your help to learn what was behind the attack; but we need to head to the hospital first. If you would step into the ambulance, please."

The paramedic was confused, wasn't the cop supposed to be dealing with the issue at hand? Then, he remembered what Kiri had just told him. While it told him little of what caused the man's injuries, he could see why the officer was so interested. If she was serious, then the police officer is doing what he is supposed to be doing. He figured that the officer planned to do the medical check and interview at the same time. And besides, perhaps he wanted her away from the scene and near the man; the two may be acquainted after all.

"Miss Landon, we seem to be blocked by another invisible barrier. We cannot react the second floor." The woman closed her eyes for a moment, as if to process the information given to her. "Leave two of your men there to try and see if they can pass it. Send the rest to help the others search the rest of the airport for survivors." Her voice did not waver. After the cop ran off to pass the commands to his unit, Landon turned her sights to the ones left in the lobby.

She was composed on the outside, but inside, she was frustrated. In many ways, it was her fault that all the people died. At least, that was how she felt. Because of that, she sought to salvage the situation as best as one could salvage a mass murder. As such, those who were left alive were considered even more important in her eyes.

"Bring the survivors here." Landon said. The officers complied almost immediately, starting to move towards each of the survivors still on the first floor: Halt, Kuri, Christ, Silva and Devin. They didn't seem as wary as before, but most still did hold up their guns, just in case the survivors did try anything funny...

Nigel held out his hand to recieve the Notebook, studying the cover with interest. It was either old or well used, the faded leather seemed to portray both. He was particularly interested in the vials; wondering why someone would make it opaque, for it seemed pointless. And their contents were mysterious, for the man seemed to have no chance to explain. Funny how we're treating a murderer like a trustworthy guy now. Nigel mused, barely even a hint of emotion over his face. But, I guess you cant think a guy looking like that would be lying.
He sighed and looked at Hikaru before looking back at the man. "Thank you." He merely said, not asking for any explanations of any sort before grabbing Hikaru and pulling him around said corner that the man had spoken about. "We cant ask him questions, there's no time." He merely stated before noticing the stairwell. "You go first, you heard what he said. I'll make sure the cops dont get around here." He added, leaning himself against the corner at such an angle that he could see around it without being seen himself, alert for any action that he could see. He looked down at the hand holding the gun to find out he was shaking. As he noticed it, it seemed to stop, but he was rather haunted by that image.

Silva was on of the few people on the plane that weren't asleeep. He was reading an article about campaign reform in a magzine. It wasn't overly interesting, but it kept reading to pass the time. After a little while one of the attendants told they were landing soon. Silva acknowleged the statement with a grunt that seemed to displease the attendant. He kept reading, but was interrupted again when they landed. He closed the magazine, rolled it up, and put it into his coat pocket. The sound of the rain annoyed him greatly. The constant sound being repeated over and over again drove him crazy. When Silva got to the main part of the airport, he noticed all of the shops. None of them struck him as interesting. Well, I am a little hungry so I might get a candy bar or something. He precceded to the baggage claim area to get his suitcase. He didn't really need it, but his girlfriend, Rika, packed it for him and made him take. Sliva then walked to the closest shop and bought a random candy bar. He didn't care what kind it was, he was just hungry. He walked around for a bit looking for the sign and eventually found it. He saw there were people already there. Ugh, people. And they're socializing . I think I'll just sit near them. He walked towards them and sit a little ways from them. Silva opened his candy bar and retrieved his magzine. He was able to read for a little while before he heard gunshots. He merely rolled his eyes and kept reading. They're probably just terrorists. Not the first time. He ignored everything that happened around. He ignored the loudspeaker, the gunshots, people dying, and the sounds of struggle. When he finally finished reading, he looked up to see a guy's head rot out of his body. That made Silva snicker a little. He rolled his magazine up again and pocketed it. He picked up suitcase and saw all the dead bodies. "Aw, looks like I missed all the fun." Then he saw the police come in and see what happened. "Little late to party, but whatever" Silva started towards the door, but was stopped when he saw the woman. She gave off a strong sense of power. She must be the head hancho. Silva walked towards her because he didn't want any trouble and he didn't want to get dragged by a cop like the kid being pulled by a cop towards this authoritative woman.

Lucas closed his eyes and tried calm his breathing as Kuri replied. He needed to stay calm, no nerves. His aim needed to be perfect, as did his timing. Being nervous would leave him dead. The pressure threatened to envelop him. He opened his eyes slowly, turned to Kuri and nodded. He saw a newcomer, swaggering in, seemingly oblivious to the situation. Perfect. He would be an even better distraction. Officers were approaching him, and the others. It was now or never.

Lucas darted to the left, reaching down and snatching the pistol with his right hand. In one fluid movement he rose and pointed it straight at the advancing officer, whilst using the new arrival to obscure him. He took the pistol off safety, hoping the sound would alert everyone.
“Now look. I’m normally a reasonable guy, but I have no intention of going anywhere with any police officer.” The officer approaching him stopped, as most people would when a gun was being pointed directly at them. A minute. I’ll give her a minute. He swallowed, throat drying slightly. It had been a while since the last stand off he’d had with Police. He hoped this one would go much better.
“So I’m going to leave, and if you value your life you won’t follow.” Wait, how many shots are left in this? Should’ve grabbed one from the corpse. He’d fired three shots, and guessed there were three left in the clip. He needed one to shatter the glass, so that left two to make them back away. It was going to be a hard time, but he had to make sure Kuri got out safely. He could never live it down if she got hurt.

"The barrier's finally down. We are continuing further in."

One of the two officers which remained almost fell on his face while trying to find a weakspot in the terrorist's barrier. With the barrier gone, the pair moved slowly up the stairs, and began to make their way down the hallways. Paying little attention to the dead guards that littered the hallway, they continued until they reached the dead body of the criminal who led the group.

The blood dripping from the criminal's body made the officers think that he was dead, but they had to make sure. The first officer bent down and checked the pulse of the body. Nothing. He shook his head while the second officer pulled a radio from off of his belt.

"This is Netcher, we found the main target," he said into the radio. "He's dead, he has no pulse." Then, silence. "Understood."

The first officer stood back on his feet, then suddenly looked deeper into the hall, where it turned around a corner. "Cover me," he said. The other officer, Netcher, nodded, figuring that his partner was getting a strange feeling and just wanted to check it out. He stood about a couple of yards behind his partner, who was now about to turn the corner where Nigel was laying in wait...

Silva had been the first to comply with Landon's request. She nodded at him, but before she could say anything else, though, Lucas stood up and started speaking. The officers near Landon all pointed their weapons at Lucas, but Landon herself did nothing besides speak to the young man.

"Do you think you have a choice?" Landon asked. She could not believe that he would try such a stunt. Well, she thought to herself, he did survive the massacre, after all. "Do you think you can hide from us out there?" Perhaps he was a part of the criminal plot? There was no way to check here. "We all want answers, but you're not going to get them by running away and becoming a fugitive. Now come over here." The other officier's aim was steady as she spoke; the bullets likely to be on target if they fired.

Kuri was on her toes, itching to move. The anxious moments waiting for Lucas to move felt like centuries, it was crazy! Then some new arrival showed up, and bypassed the police and went towards the lady who seemed to be in charge. Kuri knew this distraction was to good to let go, and a quick glance to her side showed she was right. Lucas moved at last, grabbing the pistol, and consequently the attention of the police officers. Right as Lucas got some buildup going in his little speech, Kuri bolted, hesitanting for just a fraction of a second when she heard the woman begin talking. Her little comments about the absurdity of escape gave the old doubts new places to grow, and Kuri thought that she might have a serious point. But Kuri shoved all that aside as she would run deeper into the airport.

That woman's right, and you know it. she thought to herself as she continued to run. Running away? Way to cement your guilt, you idiot. she argued further, and Kuri grit her teeth, sometimes she wished she could shut down her brain. She kept running anyway, deeper into the airport, frantically searching for windows that would lead to a good are a outside that was not visible by the police. After a few failures, she found one. It was a short drop easy to make and assures that there would be no bone breaking. She could only hope Lucas' end of the plan held up. If it didn't...well she wouldn't think about that. She found a little corner to duck into, where she could see anyone approaching with ease, but they couldn't see her right away. She would wait there until Lucas came.

Lucas laughed as the woman made her argument. It was a strained laugh, giving him a mad impression. It was an argument that made perfect sense, and yet Lucas knew he would never accept it. His diversion had worked, all the officers guns raised at him. He didn't think any of them had even noticed Kuri fleeing.

“Unlike all of you, being a fugitive for me isn’t a choice. I already am.” He moved the pistol around, flicking between different officers. Great… I’m outnumbered. His heart was beating a fierce rhythm, and his hand began to shake. The stress was getting to him. He turned to the woman, and pointed the pistol straight at her.

“You’re a smart girl, so you know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t have a reason to, or the means to do so. And even though I would love to convince you to let me go, I doubt I have time for that.” Lucas aimed the pistol directly at her. No. You shouldn’t shoot an innocent woman. She’s just doing her job. But he couldn’t see any other option. Unless. Lucas moved the pistol slightly to the left, and fired. He span on the spot, starting to run back into the airport. The bullet streaked towards one of the windows, shattering it. Please say that made them jump at least. Please. he needed that hope to come true if he had any chance. He sprinted as fast as he could, and released he had no idea where Kuri was.
“KURI, WHERE EVER THE HELL YOU ARE, GET READY.” He bellowed, hoping that she had heard it.

The moment the window shattered, everyone outside perked up. Even the officer who was speaking with Kiri dropped his plan in order to go investigating what was going on with the others. Inside, the medics who were checking out the dead people cowered at the sound of the gunshot. The two policemen closest to Lucas began firing at him and began pursuing him, but was interrupted by Landon.

"Let him go," she said. "We'll worry about that later. Right now," she said, looking around. There were only a few survivors left; four by her count. Unfortunately, she was running low on time. She turned around and walked out into the rain, with the officers directing the other survivors to follow.

The first thing she did was to identify the officer who was previously in charge before she came. "I got what I needed," she told him. "There are still bodies in there that need to be accounted for." Before he could reply to Landon, she continued walking over to a shuttle bus. Her vehicle could only hold 3 others comfortably, and she needed to move four people. The ragged man, presumably the driver, was leaning against the side of the bus, smoking a cigarette.

"Wha... What d'ya want?" He seemed... unfocused as he spoke to Landon.

"Police," she replied, producing a badge from her pocket and showing it to the man.

"What's going on?"

"I need to appropriate your vehicle," she replied, writing something on a sheet of paper on the back of the badge.

"Yeah, yeah," the man replied. She handed him the sheet of paper. After a quick glance, the man then handed Landon the keys. "Hope you catch the ****** who did this..."

Landon merely nodded, before turning to the small group behind her. "Alright, Everyone on the bus!"

Kuri was waiting in her hiding spot, praying that Lucas would show up soon. If he didn't show up, she would have to assume that either somehow he had been stopped, or he had planned on screwing her over and protecting himself. It felt like someone was ripping at her insides each moment she waited, the doubts using the free moments to plauge her mind. Thankfully she didn't wait long, after a few extra moments, she heard Lucas yelling, calling her out. Kuri jumped up, bumping her head on the counter she was hiding under in her haste. "Ow..." she groaned in quick complaint, before yelling at Lucas "Here! I'm here!" She pointed to the window she had selected, the one that had a nice vantage point of the entire bit of the area outside of the airport. "If we go out this window, we should be ok!" She said quickly, they needed to move before anyone chasing Lucas caught up.
