ListenToLife
Nigel caught the bag easily, sighing at Hikaru's rash instincts. He shrugged and leant the guitar case against the bin alongside his own bag, before running out from behind the bin, diving into a nearby gift shop. "Cocky B*stard, isn't he." He muttered to himself. "Some guy on an Intercom can kill with thought, and he just jumps out! Thinks he can fricking kill me." He sighed again and ran through the shelves, looking for things that could be used as weapons. He couldn't really find anything in the main aisles - though he'd kind of expected that - and so instead jumped over the counter, finding instantly what he presumed would be there. A hand gun, for use of defense in cases like this. He was slightly impressed with what he found - a Colt .38 super, quite a decent pistol - but only spent a few seconds admiring it before leaping back over the counter, running to the entrance of the shop. Seeing the gunmen distracted by Hikaru's move, all eyes away from himself, he moved around the outside of the Lobby, coming up their flank. Thankfully, it seemed like no-one noticed him, and he was soon behind the gunmen. Quickly, he moved behind the nearest one and placed a gun to his head, apparently un-noticed. "Be quiet and drop the gun." Nigel whispered, his eyes locked on the lead gunman.
Piercer of the Heavens
Christ like may people in the airport had no weapon that he carried, so like the rest of the people he listened to the gunmen. He just sat on the floor with the other people, thinking to himself. "What can I do? Can I even do anything? I should, I have the abilities. But... what good can they do?"Christ continued to think similar thoughts to this. They wouldn't stop, he was actually getting frustrated until he realized something. His ability is helpful here, and his skills too. He still needed to think of his plan though. While he thought Hikaru stood going against them. Christ knew that this was his chance, he placed both his hand on the floor for a few seconds and then removed them. As he did this he saw Nigel leave, going in for a sneak attack. Two golems appeared where his hands where leaving two craters on the floor, which he covered with his bad and a notebook. The golems looked exactly like Pileated Woodpeckers. The exact size and shape, except of course their color was that of the floors, since it was what they were made of. Do to the commotion nobody noticed.Instead of flying away though, they hopped through the crowd until finally escaping the crowd. They both headed to Nigel's location. "Ex... excuse me. You wouldn't mind if I played a tune right." Christ said as he took his ocarina out. "Music does calm people down, and like this it would be less of a hassle for you guys." Christ didn't wait for an answer, he just began to play. Christ knew that this would help his golems get away from the criminals. Far enough to where they wouldn't be seen. Once the golems went out of sight they began to fly quickly flying to NIgel's location, making sure to not be seen. They were sent to assist, but by the time they got there Nigel already had a gunmen as a hostage. So instead the golems hid ready to strike in case something went wrong. Aerion Brightflame
Lucas had dropped to the floor like most of the others when the gunmen had appeared. Whilst he was certain the gunmen couldn’t hurt him, he wasn’t so sure about the voice over the intercom. It had killed two people already, and now countless others were dying to. However, none of the eight people who were part of talents of the soul were affected. It got Lucas thinking. If I can’t walk through the barrier this guy probably created, then maybe he can’t hurt me. Which probably means everyone else has powers like mine. Proof of this theory came when Hikaru stupidly attempted to attack the gunmen, and he hadn’t died outright. Both Nigel and one of the newer arrivals who hadn’t introduced himself were also attempting to stop the gunmen, Nigel had found a gun from somewhere, and was holding a gunman at hostage, and the new guy sneaking towards them with a dagger. He could have just sat back and let them handle it. But where is the fun in that? Standing up whilst the gunmen were distracted by Hikaru’s attempt, Lucas simply phased his body out, and slipped into the wall. He gasped as it passed through him. Ten seconds. Lucas took two steps further into the wall, lining himself up with the gunmen as far as he could tell. Then, he charged through the wall, dagger raised. His shout drew the eyes of all the gunmen. The first of them he came across simply stared at the sight of a man in a trenchcoat charging through the wall at him. Lucas drove his dagger into his throat, letting the man collapse to the ground. Before the gunmen reacted, he threw the dagger into the throat of a second one. Like the first he fell to the ground. Reaching for the second dagger he turned briefly to the others. “If you don’t want to get shot now would be a good time to do something.” Lucas shouted at them before turning back. One of the gunmen had a pistol a few inches from Lucas’s head. He waited a second to long before firing, Lucas had seen him, and phased. The sound of the gunshot echoed around the room contrasting the sweet ocorina music being played. The gunman staggered backwards as the shot passed through Lucas, who shivered at the sensation. He felt what it would be like to be shot, the bullet spinning inside his organs, it was never something he could get used to. “Nice try. My turn.” Lucas stabbed the man in the chest, snatching the pistol as it fell from his limp hand. Lucas let the body fall to the ground, raising his pistol at the leader of the gunmen. Three gunmen were down. He’d opened up the situation for the others. Let's see if any of them are willing to put there lives on the line. ListenToLife
"That's a good enough distraction, if any." Nigel muttered, dragging the now unarmed and silent 'gunman' behind along with him, sneaking away from the crowd down a side corridor, where they would be heard. Still with the gun to the Hostage's head, he looked around the corner to see the commotion that was being caused, studying it quickly. People were falling, dead, for no apparent reason. Life seemed to just be drained from them. And yet, all the contestants of the 'Talents of the soul' seemed to be fine - in fact, they were the only people fighting. He hypothesised some connection to the 'talents' but dismissed it quickly; he doubted that anybody had similar 'skills' as himself. This was challenged quite a bit as he watch one of the gunmen shoot at a Contestant - Christ, if Nigel remembered correctly - from point blank. A good shot, killer, that was impossible to dodge and a heavy impact...and it was merely shrugged off. Well, that was incorrect. It didn't make contact at all. It was hitting his head one second, and was behind him the next. Well that's interesting. Nigel mused, turning back to his hostage. "Now then." He started, his dull voice gaining a sudden threatening and creepily detatched feel. "Want to tell me where this intercom guy is? It'd be mighty helpful, and would save us both a lot of effort - perhaps even some lives."
Otaku-sama
Kiri watched in horror as the people of the crowd who had tried to fight dropped dead where they stood. The only people alive were the gunmen and the people from the Talents of the Soul. Despite their young age, they were all armed and have started to attack the gunmen. Somehow, one of them was melting into the walls and stabbing the gunmen with a knife while being immune to counterattack. "Who are these kids? What kind of set up is this? This ain't a TV show," Kiri muttered in confusion. While the gunmen were occupied with the superpowered freaks, Kiri snuck her way to the rest of the crowd. Checking the woman who had tried to rise against the gunmen, Kiri checked for any signs of life. "No pulse, no breath. Damn! How is his guy just killing people like this?" Kirk checked a few more bodies, getting the same result every time. Accepting the fact that the the whole crowd was dead, Kiri turned back to the fighting and spotted the old envoy was still alive, crawling towards the customer service desk. Kiri quickly made her way to the old man and helped him back to his feet. "Let's go gramps, you aren't dying on my watch," Kiri said as she lifted him up, bearing some of his weight on her shoulders. Slowly, they made their way to the customer service desk. Kiri gently laid the old man behind the desk while she rifled through her duffle bag, producing a first-aid kit, hoping there would be something in it that could slow the death of the old man. InSaNiTyVoid
Kuri was searching through her bag when Lucas got up, she barely even registered his movement. She pulled out her knife and she looked over when Lucas came back, he was doing something strange...pulling his hand out of the wall? Great. Looks like I'm not the only freak around here. she thought to herself, she would have been far more freaked out if they weren't in this situation right now. She began twirling her knife in her hand, trying to think, but then the intercom came alive and the man made his demands. When he killed the civilians so nonchalantly, Kuri's first thought was Geat. Not only am I not the only freak, it looks like I'm the weak one. but that thought was wiped out as Kuri moved forward full of righteous anger, taking off her left glove. About halfway through this though, she stopped herself. What am I doing? It's one of me, ten of them, I have two hands, no way I can get them all. I need a plan. Then she saw Hikaru attack the gunmen and she wanted scream Is he an idiot?! Why would you think that would work?! But then the incredible happed: he didn't die! It seemed he was immune to the mysterious intercom man's powers. Kuri wished she could chance that, but she needed a bigger distraction considering the limits of her ability. Then she Lucas use his "power" yet again and phase through the wall only to sneak up on the gunmen. Lucas managed to kill three of them and Nigel had moved forward and managed to get a gun to one gunman's head. Lucas called out to the other contestants, and Kuri decided it was now or never. She took off her gloves and ran forward as their attention was split between Hikaru, Lucas and Nigel. She managed to jump and grab the head of one of the gunmen from behind, she let out a quick exhale before focusing her power into her hands. His struggles quickly turned to screams as his head began to decay at her touch and the rate only increased, and the few remaining gunmen looked on in horror as after a few moments, Kuri was holding nothing but the bloody remains of their ally's head. "Yeah, I would back up if I were you." She panted trying to act confident even though attack that alone had been rather draining. She kept the power in her hands going, the errie purple light adding to the scare tatic. There, that ought to scare them a little she thought to herself, she knew if it didn't, there might be a problem. Just in case, she held up her knife in her right hand, and used the dead man's body as a meat sheild while she moved towards the other gunmen, trying to corale them in one spot. All in all she looked around in shock, it seemed every contestant was immune to whatever power had been killing people, that couldn't be a coincidence. She made a mental note to ask each and every one of the contestants if they had an ability if they made it out of this.
encapturer
"No way I'll just... tell you that..." Nigel's hostage was strangely uncooperative, even after being threatened. "We were dead men once we came... to this godforsaken island." He shook his head. "If you're going to kill me... then kill me. It'd be better that way."
"****, what kind of crazy power is that?!" While the nervous criminal had already shaken off Halt's mental modification, the sheer insanity of what was going on scared him for real. His allies were dying. Nine or ten superpowered kids rushing them all. Hostages were dropping like flies since his leader went berserk. And now this girl just up and... old-ified one of his comrades? "****, ****** ****!" His mouth spewed profanity after profanity; insult after insult. "I'm outta here!" he finally said, turning tail and running deeper into the now empty airport. The one who was next to him paid little attention to Kuri's attack. He did not even care that Nigel had a hostage that he pulled away somewhere. Instead, he was pointing his gun toward Hikaru. The one who kicked off this whole mess. "All we wanted to do is live..." His voice still was stern, but it was clear it was breaking up. "...All you had to do was to let us have a.... a.... ****** plane..." His eyes started to water, as he took in the situation he was in. "But now, we all... you, me, everyone here..." He did not finish his sentence, settling only on firing his gun at Hikaru. The other three terrorists began to fire at those who fought back. One aimed at Christ, one aimed at Halt, and another at the customer service counter; he had seen something vanish behind there in his peripheral vision. Their handguns, however, didn't have much ammuntion, so after blasting away, each one dropped their weapon, and pulled out another of the same model; probably confiscated from the security guards.
"Th... thanks." The old man noticed that he had begun bleeding in his right shoulder. Slumped on the floor behind the counter; he and Kiri were protected from the shots that were being fired at them. There was a wound there in an outline of a perfect circle, blood now slowly dripping out of it. His right arm felt... limp; it was odd, he figured it would have hurt much more than that. It could had been worse; after all, he could have died once he was exposed. He laughed a bit to himself. Of course he didn't die; Kiri had the potential, and she was right next to him at that time. Perhaps her field enveloped him somewhat? "If you don't want me to die, then I need you to stick with me," he said, managing a smile. "But now, we need to get on that intercom here and tell everyone that the one killing everyone... is probably in one of the security offices on the second floor...." ListenToLife
"You dont seem to understand, you could live if we get this guy." Nigel stated, keeping his voice low. He was surprised at the lack of co-operation; though the fact that the guy running this could kill people with a thought he shrugged it off. He sighed and looked the hostage straight in the eye, a cold, almost dead-like stare, before hitting him over the head with his gun. He watched the man slump to the floor, unconcious, and wondered for a moment if he'd survive this. Knowing that he'd probably be thrown in jail, he mused if it would be a better option, death. But it wasn't the time to worry about stuff like that. He sighed again and leaned himself against the wall, looking up at the roof. He only just noticed the absence of the previous noise from the ceiling, the patter of raindrops on the roof, and was now curious. He could see clearly out of the skylight that it was still raining, yet none was touching the roof. Not a single drop. The barrier encompasses the whole building. He realised, working up a hypothesis. But to make it cover the building, the creator should be near the centre. And an area with access to the intercom is needed. He sighed and pushed his head into his hands, picturing the building in his mind. He slowly eliminated the places that weren't near enough to the centre, and then chose the places that would most likely have an intercom system. Adding that to the fact these people were armed with the same weapons as the security.... He sighed and rubbed his temple, trying to think of where to go. He guessed it would be some sort of Security office, for they were bound to have weapon supplies and intercom connection. In order to get a better view of the building, and to hopefully find a map layout of the area, he moved to the nearest set of stairs so as to climb to the top floor and get a bird's eye view of the fight. Ren✧
Halt cautiously crept up behind the gunman he had assaulted with a seemingly effective psychic attack. It appeared however that the moment of confusion he had caused had passed, and now things were turning for the worse. He watched as a girl, probably a contestant in the show, grabbed a man's head. The gunman's head began to decompose, dropping bits of flesh and blood everywhere. The sight sickened Halt, nearly to the point of throwing up. All this was a little too much. Halt didn't have time to dwell on this though. He sensed movement in the gunmen's mind, not really knowing why, Halt fell to the floor and rolled. A second later the white tile of the airport floor shattered as a bullet hit the spot where he had just been standing. A snarl appeared on Halt's lips, it was do or die. Jumping up, Halt slashed at the nearest gunmen with his knife, causing the gunmen's next shot to go astray and hit a window. The window shattered and for a split second the wind and rain from outside entered, but within moments the invisible barrier sealed the opening. Taking his advantage. Halt hit the man quickly, but powerfully, with the butt of his knife on the man's temple, causing him to fall to the floor in an unconscious heap on the ground. Lifting the man up, he used him as a shield in case the remain gunmen decided to open fire on him again.
Piercer of the Heavens
Christ of course continued to sit and pretend to not be doing anything. Yet it seems that a gunmen was suspicious of him and fired. Lucky for Christ the gunmen's adrenaline mixed with fear made him miss the first shot. This gave Christ enough time to run and hide behind a counter. "Crap!" Christ thought putting his hand over his chest, feeling his heartbeat. "That was close one, really really close one." As he hid he had an idea, he still had a link with his golems so he can switch the orders they previously had. He closed his eyes and began to concentrate. The two golems, who were hiding under a bench on the floor above everyone, began to fly. Their orders were different now, they began to search every room, store, etc in the airport. They were now looking for the leader. The golems did go in opposite directions though, since it would cover more ground. In fact one of them flew right above Nigel's head as it went on its search. Little by little the golems were eliminating rooms, but it still seemed that it would take a while before they found the leader. "Alright now that they have new orders time to deal with these guys." Christ said looking over the counter. "But I don't know how to fight so what can i do." He began to look around, for things to use, except he was in a fast food restaurant. "Dam it there knifes but I can't throw them... not to mention their plastic." Christ couldn't figure out what to do so he decided to stay put. "I'm helping anyways, my golems are searching for the leader. That should be enough." he mumbled.
encapturer
Nigel made his way above, at which point he could see everything that was happening below. Halt had been able to dispatch one of the remaining criminals, and began using the body as a human shield. It may not had mattered much, as the last two had seemed to have run out of ammunition, and tossed their weapons aside. They were truly out of options... outnumbered and outgunned, one could say. As such, they decided to flee. They were'nt sure if their boss had released the barrier yet, but attempting to escape seemed to be their only choice. They went deeper into the airport; away from the bodies, and away from the superpowered people that defeated them. The one who fled earlier had made his way to the second floor, who, unlike the two who just started to flee, decided to find their boss. He had heard where he was planning on observing his 'master plan' as he called it, and figured he would be safer with him than not. The hallways were empty, except a few dead guards and staff members his boss dispatched on they way up. However, since he didn't know how much time he had before he would be searched for, he slowed down and tried to move as carefully and quietly as he could, but he did not notice that he was passing right by one of Christ's animated golems... Durandamon
"Hahahaha...no." - Hikaru pointed his gun at the runaway gunmen, shooting at their ankles, once each, to paralyze them. He then slowly walked up to them, without hurry, and turned his gun around, hitting the first shooter's head with the gun's handle. Hikaru finally turned around and grabbed his guitar from where Nigel had left it. - "Sigh...now I have to run..." - without paying attention to anyone who could have been left there, and ran to where the first criminal escaped, running into the second floor as well. Hikaru saw the crook walking slowly, and decided to try his ability, like everyone else did. His hands glew with a white light as he grabbed his gun and pointed it at the ground next to the man and making a really loud bang which echoed around the narrow hallway. With Hikaru's ability, the handgun had shot with the strenght and sound of a cannon ball. - "The next one goes to your head." - he mumbled, hoping to had said the right words; since he wasn't wearing his headphones the loud bang had temporarily damaged his eardrums, and he only heard a loud ring in his ears. Piercer of the Heavens
As one of the golems raced through the halls it came upon on of the criminals. It quickly stopped and began to follow it, making sure it wasn't herd. "Alright." Christ said as he sensed that one of his golems found a lead.Although he didn't know exactly where he knew that they found someone. So he decided to give new orders to the golems once again. He still sat on the floor and once again closed his eyes. His new orders were simple, the one who found the criminal was to follow. While the other one was sent to find Nigel and lead him to the criminal. "Okay now that I gave them new orders time to continue to wait." he mumled. The golem who was still searching suddenly turned back headed to Nigel's location. it took a little, but the golem finally reached Nigel. It couldn't talk though so it needed a different way to communicate. So it landed a meter away from Nigel and then started hopping toward him. Once close enough it bit his jeans and began pulling. it then let go and began to fly toward the criminal. It would return and repeat the pulling until Nigel would follow. encapturer
"YEEEARGH" The remaining criminal continued to flee, even though he was more than a little disoriented. The extremely loud gunshot had not been good on his ears, he had trouble even understanding what Hikaru had said afterwards. He pretty much reached his goal, however, he ran face-first into an invisible barrier, knocking himself out. This hallway turned a corner here, but at the end of it was a single door with a plate on it. It said "ad Securit"... the rest of it was damaged or torn off. The door opened and out stood the mastermind behind this all; still wearing that grey hoodie which obscured most of his face. He held his head as if he had a headache, before doing a dismissive wave motion with his hand to no one in particular. Looking down, he saw one of his lackeys was out cold; his position suggesting that it was due to running into it. He looked up and saw the one who was currently chasing him: Hikaru. "Why... Why are you here?" he said. one could understand his voice, but it sounded far away for some reason. He was hunched over a bit, and breathed heavily; whatever happened to him, he had clearly seen better days.
"Whatever was stopping us, is gone!" "Why are you standing around then?! Get in there!" Indeed, the barrier that surrounded the airport was now gone, allowing the police officers that were stuck outside entry to the lobby. The sight that they were greeted with was... disturbing. Newly dead bodies all over. Only a few people were still conscious. The scene was enough to stun the police from making any actions for just a moment. Then, finally noticing there were still a few people alive, one officer spoke up. "You are under arrest! Hands up where we can see them!" Each officer pointed their side arm at one of the people still alive there, some going further in the first floor to do so; some at Kuri, some at Halt, some at Lucas, some at Christ. Some of the officers were clearly afraid; after all, something clearly happened that caused this unsettling scene. The other officers spread out to look for clues, and survivors; one went to check behind the service desk where the old man and Kiri were at, and a few started to head up to the second floor, as well... ListenToLife
Nigel looked down at the stone bird with mixed humour and curiousity, for the sight was certainly a strange one. He shrugged and decided to follow the bird, for it seemed to want him to come with it. It was a strange thing; it seemed to have some rough sentience and intelligence, though it was rather crude. As he walked towards the steps down to the second floor, he noticed the sudden reappearance of the noise, the rain pattering on the rooftop. "The barrier's down." He said, grinning for a moment before realising what that meant. The Police were here. And he was a guy with a gun in a building full of dead people. Sh*t. He cursed, before running swiftly down the stairs, the bird starting to fly now. He noted a loud gunshot from the floor below, too loud for a normal gun, and moved even faster, almost overtaking the bird. Finally, he noticed Hikaru in the distance, chasing one of the Gunmen. However, before Nigel could catch up, the Gunman seemed to collide with thin air and fall to the floor, unconcious. The door the gunman had been running towards proceeded to open, revealing what Nigel presumed was this Mastermind, a surprisingly sickly looking man whose face was hidden, but had a weak frame and seemed to have a headache. The man proceeded to say something to Hikaru, something Nigel couldn't quite catch, before Nigel arrived next to Hikaru. "So, care to explain somethings?" Nigel said, scratching the back of his head with the gun-weilding hand, as if to make the man aware he was holding the pistol. "And do it quick, we have company." Otaku-sama
Peeking over the counter of the desk, Kiri saw that the gunmen had been subdued and one of the freaks had made his way to the second floor. Seeing the old man become more faint, Kiri decided that telling people about the second floor was less important than keeping him alive. Since he was the only one who really knows what's going on, keeping him alive was Kiri's top priority. "You've gotta hang in there. If you die, the rest of us will be stranded on this island with nothing," Kiri said to the man, no longer being quieted by the sounds of gunfire. Taking a small knife out of the first aid kid, she tore away the old man's coat and shirt around the wound. In a stroke of luck, the bullet had gone straight through his shoulder out the other side. This was a blessing in disguise in Kiri's experience since the bullet did not need to be retrieved. Quickly moving into action, Kiri improvised a tourniquet out of gauze and duct tape and tied it around the man's shoulder to slow the bleeding. Then, Kiri took out the needle and clumsily sutured the hole shut on both sides. Finally, she taped a gauze compress to the wound and put the man's arm in a sling. The whole operation took her only a few minutes. "It's a damn good thing I learned how to do that, or you'd be bleeding out on me," Kiri while taking a brief moment to admire her handiwork. To her surprise and relief, she heard the squads of police officers stream into the airport. However, the shouts from the same officers demanding the freaks to put their hands up put a sense of foreboding in Kiri's head. "Hey, it's ok! I didn't kill anyone! They have no reason to arrest me!" Kiri thought to herself, trying to calm herself as the sounds of footsteps got closer to the desk. When an officer poked his gun, followed by his head, over the desk, Kiri lifted the old man. "Get this man to the hospital! He's been shot by the goons and he won't last too long with these stitches!" Kiri shouted, hoping to get another officer to help her carry the man (and in the process, herself) to safety.
InSaNiTyVoid
Kuri was still holding her meat sheild, but the gunmen had already began to flee. She saw that Nigel and Halt seemed to be dealing with the stragglers, so she dropped her confidence ruse, and she dropped to the floor. She hated using her power, it was always so draining. SHe stumbled back to her gloves, and she got them on quickly, she didn't need to add a mishap to her little airport adventure. Kuri watched as a few of the contestants went to chase the gunmen, and she sighed, she wouldn't be much use to anyone if she passed out, so she just sat down. Looking around at all the dead bodies she felt her stomach twist, why would anyone do this? She sat back, tired and panting, but then all of a sudden, the police stormed in! Sooo...the barrier's gone...I'm sitting near a bunch of dead people....and there are cops...ughh she thought to herself, groaning a bit in annoyance. She quickly hid her knife, they already presumed her guilty, no need to help them confirm it. They said the usual arrest bit, and Kuri debated what she should do...she didn't come to this place to be in jail or anything, but she doubted the show would let their contestants stay in jail for too long. She put her hands up, sighing in boredom, and kicked the ground a few times. Looking at the cops again, she noticed a few of them were shaking, probably in fear. She couldn't help but smirk, it was a sad sight. Then as they fanned out, Kuri heard someone calling out that they didn't kill anyone, and she saw it was one of the contestants! Kuri thought to herself Soo...where was she during this?? but then she saw Kiri trying to get the police to attend to their escort, the old man. She sighed, he probably wouldnt be in any shape to alert the show to their situation for a while. They might be in jail longer than Kuri would like. She kept her hands up, she was too tired to fight anyone.
Durandamon
Hikaru didn't pay attention to the man knocking himself out of thin air, and walked forward, turning a corner before meeting the man who was behind the operation; he was wearing a grey hoodie and looked like he was about to pass out, sick and pale. Hikaru started walking toward him, and heard him mumble something to him, which he barely picked up due to his ears still ringing. - "That's funny, I was about to ask the same thing. What's the deal with taking over an airport? If you wanted a flight, I guess you shouldn't have bought all those guns and stuff...oh, hi there." Aerion Brightflame
Lucas had let the others handle the rest of the gunmen, taking in the others who’d used abilities. Most impressive was Kuri, turning a man’s head into a rotting mess. Remind me never to piss her off. He’d dropped the pistol as the gunmen either ran or died, and leant back against the wall. Then, he noticed the sound of rain falling against the glass. Barriers down… Which means. His eyes flicked to the doors, which flew open, armed Police officers shouting the normal abuse. Several of them pointed their guns directly at him. Damn… No way I am getting caught here. Even if the show could pull strings, he doubted they could get him off a count of murder. He raised his hands like everyone else, trying to remain discreet. The older women of the contestants, called out to them. She was with the old man, who looked in rough shape. So he doesn’t have an ability then. The others didn’t seem anywhere near as daring as Lucas planned to be. Then again, why would they? Doubt any of them can walk through bullets. Lucas found Kuri was within earshot, and as the older women spoke, he whispered to her. “Hey… look, do you want to get out of here? I don’t exactly want to go to jail anytime soon.” He said, eyes searching around for the pistol he’d discarded. Five feet. Could make it in one move. His plan was simple. Grab the pistol, phase through there firepower, and walk out of the building. Shooting a holw through a window for Kuri. That is, in theory. encapturer
"The police?" the hooded man chuckled at his situation. "Well, then," the man said, closing his eyes. A faint light appeared in his free hand, and was then replaced by a small composition notebook. On the back there were three opaque vials taped to it, but otherwise it was ordinary. "You'll... want to take this. It looks like I overextended... I won't be alive much longer." The footsteps grew louder, but then there was this muffled *thud*, and some voices that none of the three could really make out. "Around this courner..." the man continued, blood starting to drip from his mouth. "Is a maintenance stairwell. Go all the way down and go through the hole we made there. You'll be in a garage underground. Just go all the way to the end and head up the stairs... and hurry." At this point blood started to leak from his eyes. "You don't want the police to catch you, and I don't know how long my barrier will last once I'm dead..."
A single look at the old man and his injury lent credibility to Kiri's story. The officer who found them looked back to one standing in the doorway, probably his superior, who nodded at him. That was the only answer needed to act. "Okay lady, let's get him to the hospital," he said, helping Kiri carry the old man out of the building. As they exited the doors and into the rain, a small group of medical personell entered in, and immediately started to survey the scene. Two paramedics the approached the injured man, one of them taking him from the officer and leading him to one of the ambulances nearby. The other started speaking with Kiri, since she would have more details of what was going on in there. "Don't worry, the hospital isn't far," he said, composed even in this bizarre situation. "It would be helpful if you could tell us what exactly happened to him in there, if you remember, of course."
After Kiri and the old man was heading towards the ambulance, a woman in a sharp suit entered into the airport. With her short bobbed black hair, a black suit and shoes, she had an air of business sense around her, and did not look to be older that 25. Looking at the few young adults who remained alive , she turned to the officer at the door. "Do we know what happened here?" she asked. Her voice was commanding. "No, we are still searching for any more survivors," he replied. "And these kids?" "They're suspects. Some of our men may have found some clues but what the medics found doesn't make any sense. I mean..." "Okay," she said, interrupting the officer. He fell silent. "I'll be dealing with these kids myself." "Understood."
Otaku-sama
Kiri breathed a sigh of relief and her expression softened when the officer decided she wasn't a suspect and decided to help her instead. She wasn't the type to do well in prison. Getting outside and feeling the rain fall on her shoulders after such a moment of terror was a feeling like no other. Handing off the old man to the paramedics, Kiri turned to the paramedic asking her about what happened in the airport. "I can't tell you for sure what happened in there, but I'll tell you what I can," Kiri started, taking a deep breath before continuing, "I was invited to the island for some show called 'Talents of the Soul'. The other contestants for the show that I've met were all kids, and they all had weapons. Then, out of nowhere, people started talking about an invisible barrier. Right after that, a bunch of goons with guns and their boss over the intercom took over the airport. When some people thought they could take down the goons, they all started...dropping! Dropping dead like flies! I can tell ya it wasn't gas or something like that, I've checked the bodies myself. No signs of any bodily damage or blood. It's like their souls were just ripped out of their bodies!" Kiri took a few breaths after she started getting too frantic when talking about the people. "It's...it's like nothing I've ever seen! I've been places, lots of places, but never have I seen so many people die so suddenly like that. Not only that, but the kids weren't normal either! They had freaky powers, like from the comic books! I know I must sound crazy, but one of them made a guy's head rot right off his body! And another, he was immune to bullets! I don't know what they are, but they aren't normal people." After regaining her composure, Kiri knew at this point the paramedic would be thinking she was crazy or had PTSD. Superpowered kids? It sounded like something out of an anime. Kiri could barely understand it herself, but after all of her exploring experience with ruins of the old magicians, she knew seeing was believing. Sighing, Kiri addressed the paramedic again. "Before you ask, I'm not on any medication. I saw what I saw and what I saw was real."
InSaNiTyVoid
Kuri looked at the ground as the cops inched closer, and she felt the familiar sensation of panic in her mind. Her first hours here, and she was already going to be arrested. This was the absolute worst scenario, she should've just stayed back during this whole fiasco. Stupid, stupid, stupid! she screamed inwardly, why did she left her anger get the better of her?! She was supposed to make sure she got her answers, not be some vigliante hero or some other stupid thing. Now she would get arrested for who knows how long! Heck, who can say the show would even try to get them out? It was a surefire way to lose money for them, who's to say they even considered the contestants worth it?! She tried to calm down, she had to keep a cool head. But the more she tried the more she worried about what this would do to her brother...he had only reluctantly agreed to this nonsense, and look what had happened. Takai had not wanted to Kuri to go off to somewhere he couldn't protect her, and she had assured him she wouldn't get in trouble, but look at her now. She began running through an array of escape scenarios, she was not going to be caught here. Whatever happens afterwords, she would try to make sense of this place, but getting arrested was not on the to do list. Kuri ran through a lot of the plans she had made in those seconds, but many of them ended with her having a lot of bullet holes. She had to hide her fear, she didn't really have a plan for this, nor could she come up with one. Then right as Kiri began cementing her story, Lucas was whispering something to her. Something about her wanting a way to escape, she looked up at him, contemplating what he could mean. Of course she wanted to escape, but she was not exactly sure what she thought of Lucas yet. But then she smiled, he had already outfoxed her in their last "battle" who was to say he hadn't thought of an escape plan? "O-of course, what's the plan?" she whispered back, finding her voice a little shaky.
Aerion Brightflame
Lucas had spotted the older woman being escorted out with the old man. Coward. Where was she when we risked our… Ok they risked there lives? In her wake came the suit wearing woman, young, around the same age as Lucas he guessed. She had a seeming aura of power around her. Kuri has spoken back, her voice shaking. Expected given the adrenaline rush, and fear of jail. Lucas scanned around once more, checking everything is in place. His throat was dry, and he swallowed. Wait… what the hell am I doing? He was putting Kuri, a young girl in life threating danger. He couldn’t believe that he hadn’t realized that before. How can I be so stupid… No. I should just leave by myself. Not risk her life along with mine. He thought about how he had killed the men without a care, when years in the past he had hated himself for it. Is that who I am? Someone who finds life cheap. He thought about stopping himself, telling Kuri to ignore what he had said. If he made a run for it, why wouldn’t they try and hurt everyone? The doubts barricaded Lucas’s head, his humanity fighting back against surival instincts. And then he looked a Kuri, and caught her smile. She… trusts me? He may have been wrong, maybe it was a smile about something else. But it was enough to sway Lucas mind. He swallowed once more finding the courage to talk, and whispered quickly. “In about twenty seconds, I’m going to roll and grab a pistol. I’m going to shoot at them and distract them, or kill them if I have no choice. You run back, deeper into the airport. I’ll follow and take out a window. You jump, I follow. We run as fast as we can.” It was a rough plan, but the best Lucas could think of. “But Kuri… You are going to have to trust me. If there is any doubt in your mind, don’t do this. I don’t know about you, but I have a reason to get out. I would rather die escaping, than rot in a cell.” He closed his eyes, and scanned the officers with weapons still pointed at him. then with a almost silent sigh, he asked Kuri. “So do you trust me?”
Piercer of the Heavens
Christ looked over the counter as he herd the commotion stop for a while and then begin again. He saw that cops were raiding the place and rounding up the kids that were meant to go on the show. "What the heck. Why are they rounding us up" Christ started to panic, he didn't want to get arrested. "Wait, I didn't do anything. Why would I get arrested?" He thought. Christ started breathing heavily now, worrying about getting arrested. at that moment a cop found him, "Kid, your coming with me." The cop said. "But why? I haven't done anything. I've been hiding here the whole time" He was rushing what he was saying making him look more suspicious. The cop then grabbed his arm and took him to the women in her suit. By now Christ was so worried that he lost all concentration making both golems that were with Nigel crumble. The only thing left behind was pieces of marble on the floor. Christ then looked around and realize that there was two craters on the floor under his backpack and notepad. "Oh no my stuff is there. What if they arrest me thinking i caused those craters... well I did, but I don't want to get arrested." Christ started to calm down a little, but still afraid. There was nothing he could do though, he had no amazing athletic abilities or brain power as the rest.
InSaNiTyVoid
Kuri noticed the hesitation from Lucas, it was a little unsettling, it was his plan after all. What if he just decided to let her get caught? It could be a ploy to give himself credible innocence. But Kuri blasted those thoughts away, she couldn't afford to hesitate right now. She calmed down a little, ignoring the screaming in her hyped-up, paranoid head and looked back at Lucas. She couldn't deny she was a little dissapointed considering he had bested her earlier. His plan was ok at best, but it was the only thing that might work. And she thought further, his letting her in on the plan could just be him being nice. With what she had seen of his ability before, he could escape this at any moment. She was going to have to bet on it. "Alright...I trust you, but try to make the distraction good will you?" she whispered, letting out a choked chuckle, "I'd still rather not die at all, if it's all the same to you." She looked at the cops, then at the pistol, he could definitely make it to the pistol before these cowards reacted, but there was the one lady who seemed to be not only in charge, but also to be extremely focused. If any problem arised, Kuri had to guess it would be from her. Kuri kept her eyes on that woman as she waited for Lucas to act. She looked to her things, she felt the knife was still where she had hid it, in it's casing under her shirt, she prayed she wouldn't need it.
