You can if you wish. A lot of the myths of the gods were distorted, so you can mess with the details, or outright, erased so you are free to create your own gods as well. Yes, genderbends are allowed.

 

However, no one will be very powerful at the start, your power level is powered by followers, and what sort of power you have will be very specific. Those higher up on the divine hierarchy simply borrow from the power of those beneath them.

 

All gods will have a human form and a god form (can be anything), however traits from their god form are still there in their human form (e.g. animal ears, horns, tails, maybe even wings). The point with this god form is that even if you don't have some sort of combat magic, maybe you are a harvest god or something, you can still fight in this form.

 

Combat will actually be kept minimal.

I'm thinking about starting a Pokemon roleplay-- yes, I realize that there's already one underway, but I was thinking something a bit more familiar, taking place in a pre-established region.

 

I want to keep it a relatively grounded, simple RP. (Although I will certainly take a few creative liberties.)

Well... do note that once they guess the culprit wrongly, the game is over. I'm OK with this as long as it's not too early, but I don't know about you.

Actually I decided I'd tweak the original rules just so that if the party gets it wrong a random person will face execution instead of killing off the the whole party, so that I can still keep the tension from the original Class Trials, but at the same we won't have to stop the whole RP prematurely.

That has been put on hold until I can actually work out where everyone needs to go to play etc plus I have to read over the whole of the red box.

Seeing as how Yu-gi-oh RP's have to have some kind of tournament in them for some form of relevancy before they completely die out I am thinking of Yu-Gi-Oh RP based on a central theme: The Tower of Babel! It should be different enough to retain interest.

Like most of the series, it occurs in its own universe and has its own concepts, although these concepts are similiar to W concepts. Instead of GaiaMemories, we have Rider Cards and Weapon Cards. Rider Cards can be inserted into some smartphone-like device that turns into a driver belt thing. Weapon Cards are inserted into mass-produced 'Frame Weapons' as a catalyst to create unique weapons.

Of course, the monsters in this RP are known as the Infected, named so because they have been infected by Virus Rider Cards, turning them feral. If they acquire sufficient willpower, they can turn into a Kamen Rider. Otherwise, the Virus Rider Card is just confiscated once the Infected is defeated.

Just what I have in mind. For now, I'm thinking of an Academy-style RP.[hr]My second idea is a Pokemon-based idea, to be released after XY.

A group of evil scientists have captured human test subjects in order to test their new, synthetic crystal - Humanite.

Humanite is... well... a Mega Stone. It evolves humans into combat based forms. However, unlike regular Mega Stones, this Mega Stone works differently from regular ones.

It gives humans abilities, a typing, as well as gives them a full set of moves that the human initially does not possess. It works differently for every human.

Needless to say, these test subjects escaped upon Mega Evolving. The potential of Human Mega Evolution was just too extreme.

With nowhere to go and the scientists tracking them down, these not-so-ordinary humans must band together to protect themselves.
