Phantom Roxas Posted July 19, 2013 Report Share Posted July 19, 2013 So Kakashi made a suggestion, and I thought I should check to see who would be interested.Anyone who knows Ben 10 should know how godawful Alien Force and Ultimate Alien are, mostly because they go out of their way to retcon a lot of the things established in the original series. The final episode aired for TOS was called "Goodbye and Good Riddance", and even though it's supposed to be an alternate universe, it's still a really good episode and it does a great job of wrapping things up, and in my opinion, it's entirely possible for it to happen after Secret of the Omnitrix.What I want is to explore a Ben 10 universe where that episode is canon, and erasing the dumber bits like revealing that Gwen being the only one in her family to get powers because of some stupid alien heritage, or that one episode where Ben gets grounded, which is precisely why I obsess over Goodbye and Good Riddance so much. The way this would work is that it would be an "Ultimate Universe", where we could certainly bring over characters from Alien Force, but we could change things that don't necessarily have to apply. For example, Verdona could certainly exist, but without the stupidity that is the Anondite lineage.The premise would basically be Alien Force if it happened in a world where Earth already knows about Ben being able to turn into aliens. The Highbreed and the DNAliens will still be the main threat, and there could still be the hybrids like Allen, Helen, Manny, and Pierce, but other stuff could change, like Kevin could still be an insane villain and not some guy with roguish charm who Gwen is demanding to have ask her out one second, and then denying she has feelings for him the next. Oh, and like I said, Ben's parents know about the Omnitrix, and we won't get some stupid subplot where they have to ground him before reaching the conclusion that should have been reached if Goodby and Good Riddance was canon and I'll shut up now. Basically, a group of people, when they sleep, go to this Dream World, where they must travel and make it to checkpoints as well as complete objectives or else they don't get to wake up. It also appears that everyone in this group faces or are going to face tragedy in their real lives. Also, what they do, what they see and what happens in the Dream World reflects things that happen in their real life. Basically, it's a psychological type of RP. Additional Details: They have special powers in the Dream World to help them complete these objectives. Interested? This RP doesn't need a lot of people. Sounds pretty interesting, and I'd certainly consider joining Alright, I'll repost an idea here for an interest check. Name suggestions too please. Still thinking of a name. Mankind has left Earth for other planets. They have left of their living creations behind, ranging from genetic experiments and naturally evolved species to sentient A.I.s. Free from humans, they know build new civilisations and stuff, although the numerous races do not get along well. As a result, they will fight and wage war against each other. One day, the humans return to claim Earth once more. Now, the different races must try to set their differences aside and fight against the humans that desire to invade their planet. During this fight, among the destruction and debris, the races of Earth had discovered lost technology from a time before theirs. First off, it's NOT going to be like SAO, or Accel World, or .hack (okay maybe a little like .hack ._.) or anything, just an ordinary MMO game that's being plagued by hackers. Oh, and it's in a future where everything is connected to and powered by the internet (including stop lights, microwaves, generators etc. I dun care if it's realistic or not :U ) so that could be a plot point later on in the rp. I have also been thinking over a few ideas of my own. Has anyone played Heroscape before? It is a game that combines elements of chess and D&D. But that doesn't matter. It has a story that goes behind it. The best warriors, fighters, creatures, etc were taken from their home planet and then forced to fight to the death. Kinda Hunger Games-esque. Would anyone even be remotely interested in something like that? I don't have any plot ideas yet, it is kinda hard when you are going from just brutal fighting to an actual story line, but if I see that someone is interested, might just make it a thing. A totalitarian government watches the civilians of *insert name of Midgar-esque city* like a hawk, and watches their every move. The civilians are brainwashed to an extent, as theorized by a few radicals through studying the level of obedience the civilians have to the government's every whim. The radicals' theories, however, are largely rejected through lies and propaganda, but this just leaves their best option to be a revolution. Many rebellions are made throughout the city, but before a lot of them can even get off the ground, the radicals are ambushed by military soldiers, and the vast majority of them are killed. The lucky ones, however, manage to escape to an area that isn't watched, and recalculate their plans. They steal all the building materials they can, and begin building mechanized weapons that they can use in an attempt to avenge their brethren. However, the military is producing their own mechanized units at a colossal rate, and aim to locate the radicals' new found base and destroy it. Will the revolution succeed, or is the totalitarian government destined to reign supreme? ... That's pretty much the plot I have at the moment. Anyway, one more key thing about my mecha RP that should make it more unique: It has an "elemental wheel" of sorts. So far I have cybernetic mechas, which use gatling guns and cannons that fire the same armour piercing rounds as tanks do, pyrotechnic mechas, which use missles and flamethrowers, hydraulic mechas, which use water cannons and cannons that fire blasts of liquid nitrogen, electronic mechas, which use lasers and fire blasts of lightning, nuclear mechas, which use nuclear missiles and radioactive tank rounds, and psionic mechas which... use psionic attacks. The "elemental wheel" goes like this: Cybernetic --> Pyrotechnic --> Hydraulic --> Electronic --> Nuclear --> Psionic --> Cybernetic I'm probably missing an "element", I know, but I can't think of one that would go between Electronic and Nuclear. Also, I'm considering individualizing the mechas even further by splitting them into Air and Ground mechas, but although differentiating them's easy enough, balancing the two is rather tricky atm. ... Here's hoping this bid for uniqueness doesn't blow over people's interests =/ Due to the nature of the plot, I will be limiting the number of apps that are ultimately accepted; although not as heavily as Blu normally does, 'cause that's just cruel. Maybe between 6 to 8, depending on whether or not I get flooded with apps. ... And reserves won't be accepted either, to make it even fairer on potential participants. Furthermore, Cybernetic/Mechanical could focus exclusively on melee weapons, while Pyrotechnic/Ballistic could utilize ranged weaponry, mostly explosives. Electronic/Digital can now focus on electronic warfare and shutting down enemy mechs, like Psionics, but Nuclear/Atomic takes a retro bent and uses nuclear-powered ray weapons and nuclear arms, and finally, Psionic goes into a very biomechanical route, with alien-looking mechs with strange powers. This also allows for a more hexagonal elemental wheel, with the elements on opposite sides of the spokes being good against each other. Cybernetic/Mechanical can hack weaker Electronic mechs to pieces, while Electronic mechs can hack into and/or disrupt Cybernetic mechs easier thanks to their simpler systems. Pyrotechnic/Ballistic and Nuclear/Atomic will be mortal enemies due to their conflicting conventional vs space age natures, and Hydraulic/Chemical and Psionic also work as good foes, since the more varied nature of assorted chemical sprays can hurt the biomechanical Psionic mechs more, but the Psionic mechs could adapt against a certain Hydraulic/Chemical attack, and then use that against them. Hydraulic's the only the one that isn't really better, but then you don't risk some moron getting Chemical and Nuclear mixed up, or getting Chemical and Atomic mi-... wait. "Cybernetic" as "Mechanical", and "Pyrotechnic" as "Ballistic", with "Electronic" as "Digital" and "Nuclear" as "Atomic". with "Electronic" as "Digital" and "Nuclear" as "Atomic". "Nuclear" as "Atomic". Why didn't I think of Atomic before?! D: ... Also, your idea of having Atomic and Pyrotechnic as mortal enemies and what-not actually goes in tandem with what I was thinking for speed tiers: Pyrokinetic and Atomic mechs would be slow, but heavily armoured; Hydraulic and Psionic mechs would be fast, but only lightly armoured, and Cybernetic and Electronic mechs would be smack bang in the middle between armour and speed. I think this'll all work as a compromise. Now I just need a name for the RP. I was thinking of Rogue Syndicate I, but I'm open to suggestions.
