So it's basically a video full of random dancing in some of the worst possible places and with the infamous horse dance.

Discuss this thing that has gone viral. :D

I just checked and this guy wrote all that crap.

I was about to call him a Korean LMFAO but he has actual talent so I won't.

Eh, I usually don't like this stuff either. You'll learn to deal eventually.

All you've said so far is say how it's so bad, yet you give no justification behind your words other than "but still just horrid music."
If you want horrible music, go listen to Rebecca Black's "Friday" or Justin Bieber's "Baby", because honestly, "Gangnam Style" is better than even those songs, in my opinion. (Because I actually sat down and listened to both those songs and my ears were wondering what the hell was going on)

On-Topic:
This song makes me feel like I'm listening to a Korean version of PONPONPON.
...
I like this.
Korean music FTW.
*is Korean*

I'd consider it good music. Self-hating, and ridiculously weird: but, yeah, it's decent.

He did go to a music college, so if the music's bad, he's doing it on purpose.

Too weird.

THANK YOU. I'd say that it is purposely stupid on account of the dancing. And since the guy did write and choreograph the entire thing himself instead of sampling everything, it's a lot easier to respect than say, LMFAO or other American acts.

And this is coming from a metal snob mind you.

I don't know how much it's worth musically, I rarely debate about this sort of things.

He's mostly an overweight, <30 guy in a music industry that takes itself WAY too seriously and where people mostly want to look and sound the same.
And he's basically going all LOLOLOL IDGAF YOLO over them.

Don't know how much it's worth in comparison to "I'm Sexy and I Know It" and such, I only found it sort-of funny ._.
But I like how he literally does whatever the hell he wants and doesn't really care.

Just thought I'd post the video here because Josh Groban and some other people twittered it. :D

All the stuff going on in the video is actually on purpose.
Gangnam is one of Seoul's 25 government districts, and is known to be extremely affluent and trend-setting.
PSY is essentially poking fun at rich people and the things they do in their free time, and doing it with a touch of the characteristic Korean sense of humor.

Also, I'm completely addicted to this song. I find it waaaaaay too good.

Wow, this guy can tank. He should be in M.U.G.E.N. with skills like that.

PSY seems to brag more about his attitude ["I'm the kind of guy who one-shots his coffee before it even cools down."] whereas LMFAO focuses totally on the physical aspects ["I'm sexy and I know it."]

Amazingly, while PSY does look for "sexy ladies", some of his lyrics indicate he is looking for a girl with more substance as well. (with "Gangnam Style" perhaps?)

If you look at the second line of "Sorry for Party Rocking" you get ["I be up in the party, lookin' for a hottie to bone..."]
But PSY adds a bit more to his search ["A girl who covers herself but is more sexy than a girl who bares it all. A sensible girl like that"]

tl;dr: Gangnam Style is swag + class, so he wrecks LMFAO.
More artists need Gangnam Style.
