Fall Anime 2012

Recommended Posts

I need to watch Shin Sekai Yori, or at least the first episode. The premise interested me from what I heard of it.

Although Psycho-Pass and K are both decent, I'm iffy about sticking with them in the long run. Psycho-Pass seems a bit too heavy on the grimdark, and the lack of exposition and the overwhelming amount of yaoi undertones in K are turning me off a bit.

Teekyuu is not funny, and I guess it might have been for me if it slowed down a bit. I guess I don't really like shows where it's that fast. And by that fast, I mean it's literally impossible (though could be possible if it was slower) and they talk faster than any other anime I've seen. I had no problems with watching the short anime the last two seasons, so I guess it's good Chitose is still airing.

Lol at that red haired guy in Code:Breaker. The rest of it isn't even that interesting to me.

I don't think I have any more worries about dropping Shinsekai Yori. It got more interesting, and it seems like I'll like it even though it isn't the kind of thing I'm normally interested in. It feels quite freaky.

What's it like?

K is doomed to be bad, particularly once the budget dries up. In the mean time, I'll enjoy the ride. Zetsuen no Tempest, from the one episode I saw, seems like a better K on [s]half[/s] one-millionth the budget. "Oh hey, this seems like a good place to put use a fisheye lens." "You do know we don't actually use a camera, right?" "Yep. Get drawing."

Still need to see Code:Breaker, Psycho-Pass, Magi, and BTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! (how am I supposed to remember how many O's to use?).

As for what I have seen, Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai!, contender for best anime of the season, has naturally not been picked up by any legal streaming sites. Thanks a bunch (But Dr. Cakey, if you only watch legally streaming anime, how have you seen the first episode of Chuunibyou? Thinking. Do less of it.)
Well, it's genres are si-fi and supernatural, and so far it's got this small amount of freaky in each episode, but I can't really describe it any better than that. I could probably write a synopsis myself or just paste one but if people are interested in that that can look one up or try it out themselves. (don't have much time left to be online, will be again (really) soon but probably won't edit this)

Zetsuen no Tempest gets mind-screwy later (I've read the manga), and the author has an unhealthy obsession with Shakespeare. It's pretty good, though, and the plot is interesting when it's coherent. I'd recommend it.

It occurs to me that I haven't watched anything from the new season. Any recommendations so far? I think the one that sticks out in my mind is My Little Monster.
Definite recommendations from what I've seen so far are Tonari Kaibutsu-kun! (a solid and seemingly original comedy), Zetsuen no Tempest (supposedly awesome action thriller with magic), and Little Busters! (also funny and it's a Key work, those are usually good).

I have more, but I think they vary depending on your tastes.

Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm loving K right now

The scenery is gorgeous and I find the setting to be interesting
Yeah, very true. Not to say I didn't enjoy the last episode but sometimes episode 2s can not really do much to move a story (by that I mean sometimes it is those episodes that seem the most obvious that they didn't really do much of anything), and episode 3 was awesome. O.o

Also, Shinsekai Yori again: But now it's just really, really freaky to me. But not scary at all, if that makes any sense.

Why haven't i posted in this thread yet? 0.o

Anyways, things i've been watching this season:

JoJo's bizarre anime
Magi
Psycho-Pass
Robotic;Notes
Little Busters

& Continuing
Bakuman. season 3
SAO

Haven't dropped any of these yet. But Little busters is the closest to the chopping block. Luckily the male characters make me laugh enough to forget it's a painfully obvious adaptation of a dating sim.

I really do want to point out that what you are calling a dating sim is supposed to not be confused with a dating sim, because they are clearly different.
The term 'dating sim' is also often used in English as a generic term for romance-driven games (ren'ai games), a subject matter which is stereotypically associated with the visual novel genre. This can lead to confusion, as visual novels are considered a subgenre of adventure games and are not technically included in the dating sim genre. While the two genres often share a common visual presentation, dating sims are sometimes considered to be more statistically based than the "choose your own adventure" style of visual novels.
They don't have to have anything to do with romance, but most of them do making them too similar for you to realize they are any different. At any rate, it is clear that if this was a straight up dating sim, there would probably be much less guys. Just that you are just so technically wrong because it doesn't actually fall under being a dating sim at all.

Yes, I do realize that it is almost pointless to just point out one thing just being you are wrong under technicalities, but sometimes I just see it, and I realize it is wrong right away even though it is easy to make that mistake, and that there probably won't be any difference even if I do point it out, and do it anyway.

Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo.
I've seen the first two episodes and the animation is brilliant. I looove iiiiiit.
AND NO I'M NOT IN IT FOR THE FANSERVICE I'M IN IT FOR THE ROMANCE BECAUSE ROMANCE IS BEST GENRE.
yup

Also, I need to watch the Bakuman anime. My favourite manga is Bakuman, so who knows. Maybe it also might end up being my favourite anime as well.

I want to see To Love-Ru Darkness as well, but my internet sucks and I was barely able to watch Sakurasou.
Oh, now I see. D:

But doesn't it kind of make more sense to watch something you already know you'll like? Well, I mean you already seen something from it before, I guess I knew you would like Sakurasou. =D

You make a good point. xD

Well, I read the first couple of chapters of the manga, and I liked it. And from the picture on the Anime Chart I thought it looked really nice.
And I looooove iiiiiit.
