The Olympics

I live in London so even more awkwardly hyped.

Still, opening ceremony was funny. Diving will be interesting today. Swimming was good yesterday.

Watched women's basketball yesterday at the Park. Very awesome. Yay for cheap tickets.

It wasn't kind of okay Britain.

So erasing my previous post from all of your memories, I actually did watch GB vs UAE in the football. I was invited round a mate's so it was more to catch up with him.

Now I know it was just the UAE, but they looked pretty good tbh. Much better than bloody England ever are.

Live in Bournemouth so haven't seen much but the torch. Not really interested in it myself, might stick the football on every now and then but that's about it. Quite a poor team we have in comparison to Spain and Brazil though.

This being the Spainish team that's just been put out by the great footballing nations Japan and Honduras? :D

I'm honestly not that interested; Winter Olympics is usually more entertaining for me.
Say, is that girl Sean Johnson (whatever her name was) back this year? I remember she was hyped more than the whole event last time she was in.

No, her and Nastia Liukin aren't in it. I would know since I just watched like 2 hours of gymnastics. Poor Wieber.

Forgive me for being the typical too-much-of-a-football-fan that I am here, but lets put from perspective on this. Much better than England ever are? I honestly thought we could've gone all the way at the World Cup 2006 if it weren't for Rooney's red card and Carragher having to retake his penalty; that was such a strong team and playing well. Granted the next two competitions didn't go so well and Rooney hasn't shown up for England since. England got knocked out to Italy, whereas GB just beat, err... UAE. Agree the played well, passed the ball well and looked good in attack. Couldn't defend to save their lives though. I'm a big fan of a lot of those players, shame we didn't bring The Ox though.

And yeah, that's a shock to me! Serves them right for showing up with no passion tbh. To be fair to them, they did lose their first game with ten men against a surprisingly very strong Japan team.

Canada and England had bad openings(still laughing over the malfunctioning totem), China's was pretty good. And the three governments aren't very far off as far as control of the people goes so there isn't much of an excuse beyond the fact that Canada simply fell flat and England went fullblown multi-culti instead of focusing on making something good. The Olympics themselves are kind of a joke, just a bunch of athletes being even more glorified, competing in events of which a good amount are bad to watch, subjective, or utterly stupid, then going back to their hotel rooms to have mass international Olympian tier orgies. I'd rather watch that.

I like the accidental drummer when China reaches one on the count by the way, very nice touch.

It's funny, all the players that play tabeltennis and badminton are Chinees. Well, a lot of them.

This.

I actually look forward to watching Freestyle wrestling, swimming, and surprisingly; athletics. I was never much of an athletics man but I started to incorporate it into my workout. I figured if I’m going to be like a warrior then you’ve got to move like the world’s fastest, most impressive; and one of the most charismatic. Usain Bolt.

Once the main athletic events get underway then i'm sure more people will be interested. At this point however, I am only looking forward to BMXing and Mountain Cycling.

I was *this* close to getting a ticket for BMX quarters.

The majority of the UK is asleep at 1AM; how on earth did they sell out while I was trying to get one .-.

;-;
