Follow your own advice.

As for the piece at hand, two simple sketches in and I'm already bored.
The shading on the forehead isn't subtle at all, when sketching it's paramount that the shading and foliage on the body aren't too eye-forcing and don't stand out too much.
I realize these are merely doodles, early stage at that, but it's still far too messy and uninteresting for my liking.

Regardless, you've progressed well in such a small amount of time (what's it been, 4 hours?).
I'd say you're a natural with the tablet, I just hope to see something actually worthwhile produced soon.
