Just finished the 3D2Y special, I liked it. World's power was actually really cool, I got some good entertainment from Hancock and Buggy being themselves, and the first Red Hawk was awesome.

Wished we got a glimpse of some of the other Straw Hats training, but whatever, (I want to know the deal with Zoro's eye)

Latest chapter was cool. It's amazing since Bellamy used to be one of my most hated characters from this series, but now he ain't too bad to me. Oda really does interesting stuff with his characters sometimes.

Luffy slamming Mingo was great!

As for the character popularity poll, I'm predicting Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Chopper and Law to be top 5, in that order.

I'm glad they snuck Usopp's awesome moment in right before the contest started so it'd be taken into consideration.

My top 5 are

Luffy

Zoro

Usopp

Sanji

Law

Franky, Mr. 2 and Ace are other faves.

Finally saw 3D2Y. Really good. World was a cool villian and they wrote a great back story for him. The other Warlords being there was kind of random and felt forced, but that is only a minor complaint. Happy I watched it. Just wish I didn't start it at 3am since between ads and a bathroom break I ended up staying up WAY longer than I would have liked.

The others being there made sense. Amazon Lily is relatively close to Mariejois and the other World Government places, so some were bound to pass through somewhat close to the area and see World's ship since he was also headed there once he got his hostages.

I get WHY they were there, but it didn't feel like they had much point in being there. Mihawk especially.

Well yeah, same went for Hercule.

He was the world's strongest man (who wasn't a Z warrior), he just happened to be hopelessly outclassed by them.

And he managed to make Fat Buu go good as well as helping take down Kid Buu, which are pretty great feats.

Oda is a HUGE Toriyama fan, so he was likely going for this. Also, Buggy is/was his favorite character.

Something I've always wondered about Buggy, would sword users with Armament Haki actually work on him?

The wiki says this: This type of Haki also has the ability to bypass the powers of a Devil Fruit user, touching the "substantial body" beneath whatever protection the fruit provides, such as the case of body-altering Devil Fruits such as Logia or Paramecia users. However, unlike Kairoseki, it does not negate a user's Devil Fruit powers, allowing them to defend themselves, and continue fighting normally.

Because of this, wouldn't he still be able to separate when hit with a Haki-imbued cut? I guess maybe he'd actually feel the pain of the attack but still separate like normal. One things for sure is that he'd definitely be able to reattach regardless, so in the end there'd be no physical injury.

Toriyama said if he ever made a manga sequel or whatever, the main character would be Hercule.

This would be the greatest thing ever.

It'd be really interesting if we ever got a story covering Hercule's rise to fame during the World Martial Arts Tournaments that the Z Fighters weren't there for. Especially if its style was more like the original Dragon Ball. It being more comedic would fit Hercule well.

I remember thinking about that a while ago. I think you're right in that he'd still separate and all that, it'd just hurt.

Kinda like when that Whitebeard Division leader cut into Akainu's neck; he filled it back, but he mentioned it hurting and expressing annoyance from him using Haki.

And yes, I'd be very interested in that. It'd be a good time to reuse characters from Dragon Ball too.

Toriyama's roots are also severely gag-centric, so I wouldn't put it past him to pen a Hercule gag manga.

[spoiler=...]

I like Fujitora. It's interesting that he holds a mindset that the Navy aren't exactly the good guys of this world. I wonder if he's planning on changing it from the inside or something like that.

And I guess we're heading into Doflamingo's backstory now.

"Greatness was not only my birthright, but I also acquired one of the rarest abilities in this world!"

F***, does Doffy have Conqueror's Haki (unless he just means his Devil Fruit)? Also, I always wondered why he would become a pirate if he was a Celestial Dragon, turns out he wasn't for all that long.

And yeah, Fujitora's a cool guy. More Marines that can tell Luffy is actually a good guy is always nice.

It's great that the people of Dressrosa know what happened now and trust King Riku again.

Random question, I wonder how a fight between Baggy and Trafalgar would turn out to be like. A slice within a slice.

As for the chapter, I liked it, and have a ton of things to mention that are mostly about what's currently happening that the chapter did not focus on, so I'll cut that out.

Doflamingo seems very spoiled, which is weird considering how it looks like his dad wasn't the one to educate him like that. I also wonder what the "third Corazon" he could have been (according to Trafalgar) exactly entitles.

They didn't have us sympathize with Crocodile either. They made him interesting again when they brought him back during Impel Down, but nothing empathetically.

I'm definitely interested in seeing what's made Doffy tick over the years, but I'm not expecting something that'll completely alter my look on his character.
