Shradow
It was never stated that Garp actually fought Gold Roger You know, except by Roger himself, in both the manga and . If, "You and I have nearly killed each other countless times." doesn't count as fighting, I don't know what does. Also, I have to change my opinion on my favorite Straw Hat. I like Chopper for his character development, but Zoro is just too amazing. I've just never seen a character, let alone a protagonist, who's just got such an overwhelming demonic feel about him (even with anime where the protagonists are actually demons). His honor code and seriousness about being a pirate and a swordsman is amazing, and he can still be utterly hilarious due to things like banter with Sanji and his poor sense of direction. And stuff like this is just awesome:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-m-TNHOoc0
Tentacruel
I'd like to point out that Smoker is definitely (or was at least) stronger than Luffy and he failed to catch him on multiple occasions.
Flame Dragon
I'd like to point out that Smoker is definitely (or was at least) stronger than Luffy and he failed to catch him on multiple occasions. Thats because Luffy would run away. Roger was said to always stand his ground, regardless of who he would face.
Tentacruel
Good point. Good point. But still, I'm sure part of Rodger's success is his crew, due to how strongly One Piece promotes teh Nakamas. Still, we have no idea what Rodger's fighting style was. I imagine he was some kind of freaking beast.
Shradow
Until we learn the full story on Roger, I'm adamant in the idea that he had no Devil Fruit powers. Makes him more awesome that way.
King of Games
I recall most people believing Whitebeard had no Devil Fruit before it was revealed. And then he did and it was earth-shattering Kaboom amazing.Shanks I could see sans Devil Fruit, and still be ruling as an Emperor.
Shradow
Yeah, I don't see Shanks having one either, in the same way as Roger. He was on his crew and got the straw hat from him before giving it to Luffy, so you could draw a few parallels.

Shradow
Yeah, it's been 10 years, you never know. We know he didn't have one then, I'm just saying that I don't think he's gotten one in that 10 year period.

K.B. strategist
You know, except by Roger himself, in both the manga and . If, "You and I have nearly killed each other countless times." doesn't count as fighting, I don't know what does. Ah you're right. However note that the phrasing was pretty ambiguous on that. Sinking one's ship with cannons is one way to almost kill one another, for example. Also since no one else remembers anyone but Whitebeard tying with Roger, their battles were probably minor skirmishes at best. Or, as said, took place at sea, where killing each other without actually fighting is easier. Garp's current strength is somewhat ambiguous but as of now Word of God is that Whitebeard was the strongest man in the world pre-timeskip. Perhaps age treated Garp worse than him, perhaps Roger didn't start off as strong as Garp so he always had to run away from him (lending more parallels to the Smoker-Luffy relationship), whatever. Anyway, I don't think Roger had Luffy's fruit first. Why on earth wouldn't Buggy, or Garp, or Robin, or someone have mentioned that Luffy had the same abilities as the most famous man in the world? Shradow
Well, one of the things Garp is praised for is actually cornering Roger several times, as in almost catching him. I'd say in order to do that, the fights they had would have to be more than minor skirmishes. And between guys like Garp and Roger, almost dying several times doesn't happen from just minor skirmishes. And Rayleigh, as an old man, swam through the Calm Belt, kicking Sea King butt along the way. I don't think that for Garp or Roger, in their prime, having their ship sunk would be enough to almost get them killed.

Flame Dragon
Does this mean Doflamingo is a Celestial Dragon? Yep. TECHNICALLY Vivi would have been one two. I believe so...... This raises countless new questions. Like why does he have a bounty. My guess is he gave up the title, but still has the connections. Anyway, Cavendish was shown to be more than a one note character. I like. Also, Brook is acting badass. As always, One Piece is amazing.
