Flame Dragon
Bon Kurei, yay! He is so amazing in this arc. Its like, holy crap, Oda can make any character amazing.
Shradow
Now that I'm also watching it from the beginning with my family, it seems to me that this show starts off way kiddier than what it becomes.
King of Games
It's certainly very cartoony at the start, but it's been said on many a DVD commentary, and i agree, that the series grows and matures with its audience.
Shradow
He is so amazing in this arc. Its like, holy crap, Oda can make any character amazing. I even liked him back in Alabasta, due to his entertaining nature and heroic sacrifice. But now he's gone full badass. And of course, after Luffy gets cured of the poison, his first word is, "FOOD!" Tentacruel
It is interesting to see Law have at least some weakness, he was getting a little OP'd.
Shradow
Well, Luffy and the gang fall from the sky and suddenly the Marineford Arc is hilarious. But still, Little Oars Jr. TT^TT
King of Games
Well, Luffy and the gang fall from the sky and suddenly the Marineford Arc is hilarious. But still, Little Oars Jr. TT^TT I dont THINK he's dead, if it's any consolation. On latest chapter: It's reassuring to know the Ope-Ope Fruit isnt completely OP. Shradow
Okay, One Piece characters, you've been fighting this Logia-Type Devil Fruit user (in this case, Akainu) for many many episodes now, stop trying to shoot him and then be surprised when he emerges from the smoke unharmed. I mean, seriously, and it happens every arc where people fight a Logia. >.>

I mean even Luffy has enough sense to run from Smoker as soon as he learns his attacks are useless against him.
Shradow
Well, Ace died, I cried (not as much as when the Merry died, though I almost expected that), and Whitebeard vs Akainu was epic as hell, albeit incredibly short. And it's been awhile since I've wanted someone to die as much as I have Akainu, but I can only assume, since this is One Piece, Oda ain't having it. My brain went into standby mode for a while after I read that chapter. Oda is a master at getting emotions out of his readers. Love, hate, sadness, joy, he can do it all. Watching Whitebeard after Ace died was simply amazing. I don't know the name of the episode but the name of the chapter with that fight was "Wordless Rage" and that was just perfect for it imo. Also, because they had to change it in the anime, what REALLY happens to Whitebeard in that fighthttp://www.mangahere.com/manga/one_piece/v58/c575/5.html
Shradow
Oh damn, in the anime it was just the moustache, not the side of his face. After all this I honestly think Sengoku saying Whitebeard could destroy the world wasn't hyperbole. I'd even go as far as saying that Whitebeard in his prime may be DBZ-level in power. Yea, seeing him loss half his face and still do everything he does after that still amazes me. I do understand why they changed it though, it is a bit graphic. Think of this, if Whitebeard is that powerful, imagine how strong Roger and Garp are.
Shradow
Speaking of that, seems like Garp is at least Admiral level. Based on how he's hailed, I might say stronger than the current Admirals, maybe up there with Sengoku. Let me guess, it has something to do with higher ups having less freedom in terms of doing things in the field, so Garp stayed a Vice-Admiral? Shradow
A yes or no would've sufficed, might read it later. As for that one episode name, it was, "The Navy Headquarters Falls! Whitebeard's Unspeakable Wrath!"

Shradow
Granted, that's just the translation on Wikipedia, could vary slightly with different translations. And the anime's episodes have always had long, two-part titles.

Denver
Another goddamn break...oh well, if it's for his health, then rest up, Oda.[spoiler=711]Good chapter, I didn't think of it all being a trap, but maybe I should have considering they just so happened to come across an Admiral there. The Dwarf/Gnome people seem kinda funny...
