Dr. Cakey
Virtually every event and plot point in the movie I disliked. But I liked the movie anyway. Which leads me to believe Nolan was cheating in some way.
I sat for like five minutes trying to figure out what I should be discussing in this spoiler tag. Plot? Theme? Costume design? There are problems with all of them (Forget the mask - what is Bane even wearing?), but these two items seem most important to me. 1. Both Bane and Selina Kyle accuse Bruce/Batman of being weak and/or not having the moral high ground because he's lived a life of luxury. Now at least one of these two doesn't know he witnessed his parents' murder and then spent several years in unsavory parts of the world in prison before being trained by Liam Neeson to be a cultist warrior-monk, then spent the next handful of years of his life physically fighting crime, but whether the speaker knows this is true or not, we the audience know it isn't. But the movie seems to act like they're right - that's the point of the Pit sequence. Am I wrong? 2. Bane and Talia's goal was to use the Quantum Death Bomb to blow up Gotham. It would detonate after however long that sequence was (a month?), and it could be manually exploded by Talia any time. So a) why didn't they blow up the city immediately or at least sooner, and this is less important but were they planning on dying in the explosion?
