Route 111 [Hieratics]

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure what that card is after Dark Hole, and I don't think Hieratics run Reflection at all.

I personally max Card Car D for the most consistency possible; Dualities as well. You need to be able to go off otherwise you're not going to stand a chance. It's worth setting up for Turn 1 by using these and then just going off the turn after. Fiendish Chains and the like should be more than enough to buy you a turn to set up all the plays.

Definitely +3 Card Car D, and +2-3 Pot of Duality.

After Dark Hole is Galaxy Queen's Light; I just added those along with Superdimensional Robo Galaxy Destroyer, so I can bring out a big field-wiper with just Dr. Red, MD and any other two monsters. Also allows for even quicker Gustaphs.

I was trying to see how well Reflection would run, but so far, in five duels, I've never pulled it. But I could replace the Reflections with Duality or Cardcar D.

Hieratics with 3 Card Car and 3 Duality are immensely consistent. Don't worry about Galaxy Queen's Light; it's a decent card but it's not worth the space in here at all. If you're running the 6-Card Consistency Engine as I like to call it, you won't have any worry setting up your plays and getting Gustav to the field easily. Until they hit that stuff in September, anyway.

Again though, I'm using it for Superdimensional Robo. I'll test out your version though, with two Duality and two Cardcar D (since I don't want to clear out any monsters). I'll see which works better for me.

My apologies; I missed that part. I guess that makes sense then; I mean, it's not going to be nearly as consistent, but if your Win Condition/Goal isn't the Hieratic OTK loop, and it's something else, then by all means try it your way.

Especially because if you're going to be doing a lot of Special Summoning but not going for game, perhaps you should just keep the other stuff sided and switch mid-Match to the regular build if you find yours doesn't work.

It is sad that the only advice I can give to Hieratic decks is to drop 1 Wattdragon for Luster Dragon #2. That and what the other guys said: Galaxy Queen's Light and the Hieratic Seal that is not Convocation don't do much for the deck, swap them for some consistency cards.

Why would I remove Wattail for Luster Dragon? I can't make Pleiades with Eset and Luster, y'know.

And GQL did help me bring out Superdimensional Robo Galaxy Destroyer one two occasions and Gustaph on two more, both of which won me the duel.
You run a different Normal because Chain Disappearance is a card. And it hammers you if you run too many of the same card that come onto the field at <1000 ATK.

And you can't make Pleiades with Eset and Watttail anyway. Pleiades is Rank 5. Watttail is Level 6. Eset doesn't change Watttail's level.

Well, you shouldn't be going for Pleiades a lot either way. The reason to replace 1 Wattdragon with Luster is to avoid your opponent's Chain Dissapearence becoming GG. I know, nobody mains that card, but it's almost a Side Deck staple.

I've never seen competitive OTK versions of Hieratics running GQL, but if it works for you I guess it's fine.

Darp on Wattail and Eset making Rank 5. My bad.

And I've never really encountered Chain Disappearance...Ever. I mean, I understand it's a threat, but I've never encountered a deck that runs it. I'll side a Luster, though, in case I encounter it at some point.
Just run it. You don't lose anything for running it (okay, like 100 ATK, but that's nothing) and lose a Side Deck spot and a chance to be chain disappeared if you don't.

While I completely understand the logic of running 1 WTD and 1 LD2, I was never a fan. In my build, I almost always run 2 Wattail Dragon, and 0 Luster Dragon. Of course, I also ran Honest and I found the Deck had much more synergy that way, especially because Wattail can run over Laggia and Dolkka. Chain Disappearance seems to be less of a factor now than it was two months ago, so you could probably get away with keeping it as is.

But, since it doesn't appear you run Honest, you might as well make the switch.
