Human Centipede 2 was the most disturbing movie i've seen but not really "horror", Shutter Island I think was supposed to be a horror film but it didn't really feel like one, I still loved it though

In general horror films don't really scares me, do you know any actually scary horror movies?

Seeing as horror is one of my favorite genres, I have A LOT of movies that I love. My all-time favorite is probably The Exorcist. I've watched that movie more times than I can count, and it never gets old. For being released in the early 70's, it was WAY ahead of its time and it was the first movie that ever, quite literally, haunted my dreams. To this day, I still get shivers down my spine when I think about the first time I saw the "crabwalk" scene.

Some of my other favorite horror movies include: [REC] (a Portuguese horror flick that was later remade into the shitty American horror movie Quarantine), Grave Encounters (mainly because it's so cheesy that it's good, and it includes some good jump-out-of-your-seat scenes), Ju-On (the original version of The Grudge), and Silence of the Lambs (strictly for its realism, and how deliciously deranged, yet brilliant, Anthony Hopkins' character is).

Both Human Centipede movies were absolutely hilarious, in my opinion. It seems as though most horror movies these days focus more on scaring their viewers with gore *coughsawcough* than actually being scary.

Gore =/= Horror

my vote goes to the Friday the 13th series, i'm a huge fan of slasher flicks, Friday the 13th may be my favourite, but movies like Scream (specifically 2 and 3), Nightmare on Elm Street (though i don't think a deadly-gloved dream killer bears much of a challenge to Jason in his creepily zombified glory), and of course the classics like Halloween 1 and 2. Speaking of which does anybody else think Rob Zombie did a great job with his remakes?, personally i think he captured Mike Myers sadism and overall frightening nature from the original movies quite well.
And on the subject of classic horror movies, i'm quite a fan of Vincent Price's movies, he was a great actor and made a lot of his movies what they are, and going on the subject of classic movies, the 1960's made a great one with Italian horror's "Black Sabbath" trilogy
