Return of the Orichalcos (Finishing/PG-13/IC)

Pandora reluctantly sighed as cake splattered all over her from when Puddingcess' cake toppled over from Chi's counter, though the cannon shot managed to take out the other facedown card Protheus had, due to Puddingcess' effect of destroying a card. "Thanks to my Chateau, my Puddingcess returns to my hand. However, I don't have anything else to do, so I will end my turn."

Pandora: 4400 LP
Hand: 3 (Puddingcess, 2 Unknown)
Monsters: Mille-Feuille (1000 ATK|LV3), Butlerusk (2000 ATK|LV4), Majoleine (1900 ATK|LV4)
Spells/Traps: Offering, Chateau (Field)
Graveyard: Rainbow

Natsu watched all of this unfold from nearby, simply observing. The rules were coming to her easily, thanks to the surprisingly helpful overlay, which included a card database. She wished she had a deck, though, at that moment, something stirred within her. She needed to find something, or something needed to find her, and she eagerly awaited for the three of them to depart for where her original self lay.

Kurai was surprised by the Ringmistress he had heard that Itsu was a bit eccentric but he didn't expect a circus lady A.I. but then he remembered that he had seen weirder and decided to just go with it. "Um well I'm Kurai Kagami and my old man sent me here to deliver a letter to Itsu but she seems to have disappeared from the multiverse and so I just kinda followed the big SOS that is being sent from here." Kurai hoped that he'd be able to get some info about what was going on from the A.I. Ringmistress because his dad told him that he couldn't go home until he delivered the letter to Itsu which wasn't really that bad Kurai had been on his own plenty of times but something about how his dad sent him out seemed strange.

Albtrum watched as Alexander and Atsuko were going to up onto the bases roof which doubled as a vacant lot, he knew that if they went there that some of Itsu people might find them and save Atsuko and normally he would tell Arche but then he remembered how she had disappointed him and decided that he'd just watch for now.

Ringmistress frowned at hearing this. "Well, we've got a bit of a predicament here. Itsu is currently M.I.A." Ringmistress created a holographic screen showing Itsu's petrified form. "She has a bad case of no soul and no powers. Her body is made of a special enchanted mythril that contains her incredible powers over fire. She is quite literally a star. When her powers were removed, her body no longer had the heat energy to keep the enchantment going, so it simply shut down and solidified into pure solid mythril. She is currently the most expensive statue on the planet, thanks to the uniqueness of her metal, though no one but us knows that yet."
Ringmistress dismissed the screen. "However, you present us with a conundrum. Before she was lost, she ordered the execution of Contingency YRP-169, which, in the event of her demise, calls for the activation of a special emergency interdimensional distress beacon, which is termed "Phase I" then the immediate lockdown of this facility until authorized help arrives, "Phase II", at which point we assist any authorized relief to the best of our abilities, "Phase III". But you are now in here, when you aren't supposed to be, and under the contingency, we can't let you back out until Phase II is completed. However, I have secondary protocols regarding the event of employees being locked in here, so I came up with a solution, if you would be willing to try it."

"Good game." Protheus said, drawing his next and final card. The duel had been decided from the very beginning.
"I activate from my hand the quick-play Primal Darkness Xchain, allowing me to exchange a Dark One monster on the field with a monster in my hand. Therefore, I'll switch Dark One Chi with Mu." All of a sudden, Chi disappeared, returning to his hand, while it was replaced by a boy in dark robes with a talisman attached to a hat he wore (ATK 1500). "Now, I activate the other quick-play, Primal Darkness Sibirka, allowing me to return Primal Darkness cards in my grave to the bottom of my deck."

Suddenly, a dark wave filled Protheus's grave, and his Xchain and Xlast cards flew out, before tucking themselves at the very bottom of his deck.

"Then the effect of Dark One Mu activates. When it's summoned and it's the only monster on the field, out comes Nu." Then a girl wrapped in dark and red robes with a talisman attached to her own hat appeared (ATK 1900). "Effect. If there are no monsters in my grave, I can bring out Xi." Then a young boy, also in dark robes and a talisman attached, appeared (ATK 1300). "If there are no Spells or Traps when it's summoned, its effect activates. I can bring out Pi." Another monster then materialized, a little kid wearing blue robes and a talisman attached to his own hat. "Finally, if I control three other monsters while Pi is summoned, I can bring out the Dark Tuner Rho." Finally, between all four of Protheus's monsters appeared an angelic entity with dark wings (ATK 2800).

"Now I tune together my Level 2 Pi with Level 3s Xi and Mu." He said, and all of a sudden the three monsters rose up together to create rings and stars, aligning with each other. "Synchro Summon - Dark One Qoppa." Then in a burst of light and darkness, from the three monsters appeared a powerful armored entity with wings (ATK 2500). "When Qoppa is summoned, it allows me to bring out any Dark One from my deck. In this case, I'll bring out Dark One Omega." And a devillike being descended onto the field, joining the legion of the other three monsters (ATK 3000).

"You're still quite far away from facing me, Pandora, I'm afraid." He said. "Dark One Nu will attack Mille-Feuille, Qoppa will attack Butlerusk, Rho will attack Majoleine, and finally Omega will attack directly."

The four monsters launched forward. With a magical attack, Nu obliterated Pandora's Mille-Feuille (Pandora LP: 3500). Then the armored Qoppa crushed Butlerusk with a powerful wave of darkness (Pandora LP: 3000), Majoleine was quickly overcome by Rho's swift movements and a single kick that snapped its neck (Pandora LP: 2100). And finally, the devil entity slashed at Pandora herself, decreasing her Life Points all the way to 0.

Winner: Protheus
Then he glanced over at the clone, looking at it like a man would look at an animal.

"You left yourself wide open." He told his daughter. "You need to always have a set card on the field, a Mirror Force or whatever. If you don't, attacks like the one I had performed will always happen. You're good at swarming the field, and the effects of the Madolches are impressive since they keep your graveyard empty, but you need an actual strategy to take advantage of that. Otherwise, it won't mean anything."

After the advice, he turned around to prepare a vortex that'll take them to the earlier-obtained coordinates of Itsu's demise.

Kurai was a little overwhelmed with all the information being thrown at him but it looked like Itsu was really out of commission and it looked like it would be a while before help came. "Before I make a choice I want to throw a few names at you and see if any of them are on your list of who's supposed to come, Mr. Nobody, Paradox, Yamidox, or just Yami cuz if any of them are on the list then I'm probably the person that would come in their place anyway." Kurai knew that there was a good chance that he would be involved in this conflict even if he didn't come here and with his penitent for trouble he wouldn't be leaving before things in this world were settled.

Pandora sighed as she deactivated her Duel Disk. She wished her father was a bit more positive, and at least said she had done a good job this time. She turned to her side see a translucent figure next to her. The figure was of a woman with blonde hair and tribal markings on her face underneath an eagle's-head helmet, white angelic wings, and Native American attire. She smiled softly at Pandora and told her "You did pretty well, definitely an improvement from last time. Your father is right, though. You need to be a bit more defensive." Pandora lightened up and told her Duel Monster Spirit. "Thanks. I'll try and get you out in the next duel." The woman smiled and faded away, and Pandora drew the card she would've drawn next in the duel to reveal the same monster she was just talking to. She happily followed her father.

Natsu briskly walked up to Protheus and slowed down to walk along side him. "So, where is this place we are going?"

Ringmistress paused for a moment before replying to Kurai. "I'm sorry, but it appears that he isn't on the list. However, I do have something for you to fill out." Another holographic screen popped up in front of Kurai labeled "Employee Application". "I can help you fill this out, and then you will be hired as an employee, and I can help you out with the contingency's secondary protocols!"

Idris didn’t get much of a reply, merely a nod in response; it likely wasn’t a good time to be asking given her emotional state. She stood aside calmly as the girl attempted to pick her friend up, having quite a bit of difficulty given the figures pose but eventually managing to get comfortable.

“Yeah…” She muttered, not looking the girl in the eye as she led the way out of the park and back towards the hotel she and her grandfather where staying at. “I’m Idris, by the way,” she spoke up after a while in a vain attempt to strike up a conversation.

Syria continued to stare at the building, puzzling over its purpose and what the three humans that had entered it where doing inside. She walked up to the large door that the human machine had driven through; peeking inside to see a large room filled with many more similar machines. She spied the machine that the three humans had occupied, now vacant. She wandered back over to the front of the building, spying a door on the front of the building. She walked up to it and placed her palm against it, pushing it open slowly and stepping through. She found herself in another room, smaller than the other one and furnished as well.

She spied someone sitting in one of the chairs, the human wearing the peculiar clothing on his head, shuffling a deck of cards. She stared at the human for a moment of two, her curiosity getting the better of her as she approached the man slowly, pausing a few feet away from him.

“Why do you wear that?” She asked, her voice slow and mechanical.

Aliens, brainwashing, and now a second moon interesting. Sounds like planetary devastation and not the utopia that was promised. On the other hand sometimes you do have to destroy the existing structure if you want to build a new one in its place. Lucas wasn't phased by the lying nor was angry at Arche. People or whatever it his have to do what they have to do in order to get the job done. It was more like he respected Arche for coming up with the lies, kidnapping the girl even though that wasn't explained to any level of satisfaction, and he even added a some version of employee of the month prize. These pendants of concentrated Oricalchum keep the seal from being broken but only the three super best get it. Pity how none of the favorites seemed to have any sort of bonding experience or were even the closest friends.

As the drones were marching out single file to go relieve themselves to doing what ever the mindless do, Lucas stayed back and watched as Alexander the bi-polar whiner and the little girl went to the away to go have a duel. Once again the youth are about to make a fuster cluck of everything, but look Alburtrim seems to be on the job. Good, hopefully something interesting happens and Lucas won't have to be near the awful fallout. Lucas looked around and wondered if he even had a shot at one of those pendants. If this like most things in life was decided on a children's card game then was certainly screwed. However its not like he couldn't try. The abilities and permissions of the pendant meant nothing to Lucas but the fact that it could have been an Ancient Atlantean artifact was what was promising. As a former archaeologist he had no choice but to look at and examine that pendant closer. Its almost as if he was honor bound to do so. Lucas had a slight inner laugh because it has been a long time since he has been motivated to do anything.

"Well it looks like I have my work cut out for me then." Lucas spoke as his cloaked was wrapped around his arm and he gave a polite bow to his leader. " I will be leaving to rest up. We have a tough three days ahead." Lucas turned around and left while walking down the hall he could see some of the white cloaked ones who were not fortunate enough to be one of the favorites plotting to win the pendants. How sad for them, miserable nobodies who go to a card for power depressing. When Lucas finally made it to his car he waited a moment and then turned on the radio and rubbed the bridge of his nose. "I think I'll take in a show tomorrow that sounds like a good idea." Lucas's previous trips down memory lane jarred the sudden need to go see a live Lucha Duel or whatever they were called but for now time to sleep. He put his car on auto pilot in the event he dozed off at the wheel and made his way home. As he was driving one other thought kept creeping up from the back of his head. What was that statement about Duel spirits about does that mean he can talk to his cards?

Alexander smiled at Atsuko's excitement. "Hey, how about I race you up there? First one up gets to pick who goes first!" Alexander started to run outside, but he didn't run at full pace, hoping Atsuko would overtake him and reach the roof of the tower first. As he ran, an idea crossed his mind.

What if...What if Archetype Earth is wrong, or she's lying...? Could it be that she's trying to manipulate us, just to further her goal? Is it...Is it possible that what she wants entails more than just a better place to live? Would it be worth all of the lost souls...?

Alexander shook his head, dispelling the thought. He continued to run outside, tripping over a tree root. He caught himself on the ground after banging his knee on a rock. He winced in pain and stood himself up before limping toward his destination again.

Kurai had expected that his farther would be on the list but the fact that he had never met Itsu meant that there was a good chance that they had had a falling out and maybe it was big enough that she wouldn't call him for something like this. Before filling out the application he realized that there was something he should know before filling it out which turned out to be pretty funny, "This might seem kinda unimportant but would you mind telling me what position I'm applying for this will technically be my first job so I kinda want to you know what it is even if it is just to get me out of here, and I don't have a social security number."

Albtrum noticed Alexander and Atsuko were heading out of the base and decided that he'd stay for a little while then head out to watch them duel.

Ringmistress giggled and told Kurai. "Well, I'm going to make you an 'independent consultant'. You have no pay, but are simply registered as an employee. That way, I can use my protocols to bypass this scenario."

Atsuko dashed out of the chamber and into the park, breaking into a full sprint as she attempted to escape from the Orichalcos cultists. She turned around and called out to Alexander in the midnight air. "COME WITH ME!!! HURRY!!!" She turned on her heels and kept running, hoping Alexander would join her and protect her. He was the only person she could even hope to trust right now, and she was gambling that he would decide to help out a poor, defenseless 7-year-old girl from the big, bad cultists that wanted her for some reason.

Gabriel gasped as he nearly jumped out of his seat; somehow, he never even noticed the strange young girl enter. What was just as shocking was her truly bizarre state of dress, which was certainly not of this earth. He was almost tempted to pinch himself right then, just to make sure that he hadn't nodded off, but didn't want to have his unannounced visitor think him strange.

"W-when did you--?" he stuttered, perplexed as to why this girl, a complete stranger, had suddenly appeared to him. Even more perplexing was when she asked why he wore a mask. Giving it a quick thought, Gabriel came to the conclusion that this girl may simply be a foreign exchange student, or something to that effect, one who has never seen a masked wrestler before. "Uh... well, I am what is know as a "masked wrestler". For me, wearing this mask is... part of who I am," he told her in as simple a way as possible, without trying to confuse her.

"Ugh, finally," Carla moaned out, getting up from her makeshift chair. "Thanks, sweetie. You can go on, now," she told the drone as she made her way out, following after the one-and-a-half brats who had gone outside to have their playtime. While she wasn't exactly going to be babysitting them, she figured that she'd watch at least one little duel before heading back to her apartment.

Alexander kept limping after Atsuko, trying desperately to keep up with the little girl. "H-Hey! W-Wait up!" he called, struggling to stand, much less run. He gritted his teeth and managed to pick up the pace, though. It was clear that she didn't want anyone from the Orichalcos to get her, and he understood that. She just lost her mom...And now she's been told that her whole life has been a lie? It's too much for a little girl like her...I...I need to protect her...

Finally, he caught up to Atsuko. "H-Hey, I have a dorm at a nearby boarding school, and nobody knows I live there other than the school faculty. Y-You can stay in my dorm with me, okay? A-At least until we get all of this figured out," Alexander gasped through his pain. He was also fairly tired, as he wasn't used to this much running.

Jared Ruben

"Foinilee," Jared muttered after a brief sigh, before looking over at the girl that had suddenly broken into a sprint, as if trying to escape out of this place, "Gissoim noardee oneewun eena hurrida geet outtayeer."

Jared decided he'd best follow the girl, intending to keep an eye on her in case she were to start warning everyone around the place about the cultists. But he didn't want to run after her; instead, he got in his GTO and drove in the direction that the girl had taken off, searching the entire city for her. It was a good thing the GTO was black, else the cops would only start to get suspicious. Eventually, Jared had managed to find the girl at the park, just as one of the other cultists caught up with her.

"Woarda bludeeyell ardeyup to?" Jared asked himself rhetorically as he observed the duo.

"Finally."
"Guess I'm not the only one in a hurry to get out of here."
"What the bloody hell are they up to?"

Yuri Kanzen

"Well... if you must know, my name is Yuri," Yuri told the girl, who had introduced herself as Idris, whilst following her to her hotel, "Y'know, I never had much time to get used to these lands; as far as I can tell, all they contest of is just... rock. And I presume these structures around here are made of steel? As with these contrastings that pass by every so often?"

Taking another observation of the city seemed to remind Yuri of her last "crash course" of Detroit, which Itsu had offered. Perhaps this was what she needed to help keep of her mind off Itsu's last moments, but the weight wasn't completely off Yuri's shoulders just yet. The last ticky-tour around Detriot didn't go so well for her.

Idris cast a glance back at Yuri, taking note of what she was saying as they walked down the street.

“Not from around here then?” She asked, given the way she spoke and her comments about the surroundings it was already pretty clear she wasn’t local “You get used to it after a while.” She shrugged.

****

The human seemed shocked to see her. She tilted her head to one side in confusion, puzzled by his strange reaction.
Do all humans greet each other this way? She found herself wondering. She listened patiently to his answer, remaining perfectly still and attentive. Her eyes appeared to glaze over as she processed the information in her head; however there was one small part she was having difficulty understanding.

“I see,” she replied softly “and what is a…’Wrestler’?”

Kori's mind wandered when Arche was speaking about her master plan to change the world into a utopia, blah blah, bring back Atlantis from the sea where it sunk. He kept zoning in and out at her speech, only listening at some of the important points. He couldn't help but notice Carla using one of the grunts as a chair for her seating pleasure. He shook his head and wondered how she could charm anyone into doing such a thing. Charms can really mess with a person's mind. As he zoned back into the speech, Kori's eyes widened as he heard the goal: To make Faust a second moon.

"What?!" he thought. "That's not possible. Even if we managed to do that, it would cause the atmosphere to collapse on itself, killing human lives and not spare our own for that matter."

He opened his mouth to speak up, but closed it to avoid any confrontation to his 'Leader' yet. He knew the current goal was to collect souls. he thought again this time he would duel, but leave the Seal of Orichalcos card behind. He put on his Duel Disk and waited in the room for a good time to start dueling people.

"... you're really serious, aren't you?" Gabriel remarked upon hearing the girl's follow-up question, actually a bit concerned. It was as if this girl was new to this world, like an infant, or even an... ... ... but that couldn't be possible, could it? Of course, he couldn't exactly tell just from looking at her; to be honest, he's seen clothing and hair fashions just as strange as what she was wearing, if not stranger. Gabriel began to think of how he could explain what a wrestler was without causing the girl further confusion.

He didn't have long to think; at that moment, Russell Oxford re-entered the lobby, wearing a pair of pajama bottoms and a white tank top. "You could start by stating what "wrestling" is, of course," Russell said as he approached Gabriel and the visitor. "Wrestling is one of the earliest forms of physical combat, going as far back as 13th Century B.C., maybe even older. It consists mostly of grappling techniques, like pins, throws and submissions, though striking moves are also used in some forms of wrestling." He then added, in response to seeing Gabriel's surprised expression, "My wrestling coach made us do some research back in high school." He then turned his attention back to the strange girl and continued, "With that said, a wrestler is one who participates in such kind of sport." He then gestured to Gabriel, saying, "My friend here, Mr. "War Garvas", is a masked wrestler, a "luchador", to be exact. For masked wrestlers, wearing a mask is practically considered sacred to them."

-----

Carla eventually made it to the park that the two kids had run off to in order to have their duel. Along the way, she noticed the Aussie from the meeting drive up in a GTO, stopping a few yards away from the "duel area". She couldn't find a bench close-by to sit on (actually, she did, but she pretended to not see one), so Carla decided to approach the GTO, tapping her fingernails on the driver's side window. "Hey," she said to Jared inside as best she could through the closed window. "Got enough room for one more shrimp on this barby of yours?" Of course, she was referring to the GTO, and in any event, she was hoping that Jared wouldn't take her totally lame, punny joke the wrong way.

"Actually... I hope I don't have to get used to it," Yuri stated manner-of-factly, before sinking back into a grievous tone, "I just don't belong in this world, and these lands consistently remind me of that... as does that cursed rock."

She glared at Faust, the comet that had been hovering over Detroit for some time now, as she said this. It was making her angry now, as it reminded Yuri of the unfortunate outcome of Itsu duel.

"Itsu was supposed to help me get back to my home world," she added, "And now all of a sudden, they've drained her of her soul."

Jared Ruben

Jared continued his observation with the two until a third familiar face had tapped on the driver's side window, asking if he had enough room for one more person. Question was, would it be better for Jared to let this young woman take the passenger seat of the GTO or leave the seat open in case the girl tried to make a run from that other guy? Of course, this would've been easier if the GTO had 4 seats, but Jared never thought of that when he got this vehicle. Still, he knew what the decent choice would be.

"S'pose Oi better letchayeen, aye?" he replied to the woman, "Oil geetha door forya,"

Taking his seat belt off first, Jared then reached over and opened the passenger door slightly.

"Suppose I better let you in, huh?"

Idris found herself falling silent all of a sudden, chewing her bottom lip nervously and not looking back at Yuri. She wasn't really sure how to respond, it wasn't every day a person's only chance at getting home had their soul taken and reduced to a solid chunk of metal. She paused for a moment, thinking things over.

"This Itsu person, who exactly was she?" She could tell from a glance she was no ordinary person, no normal person ever wore their hair like that "I wouldn't think the orichalcos cult nutjobs would target any old person. As far as Grandad's research goes the previous cult targeted several key duellist because of their strong souls or whatever, basically if they went after her then she'd have to be pretty important."

Syria found herself confused at the human's reaction.

"I am referred to as 'Syria', no 'Serious'," she said, confusion more than evident in her voice "My full designation is 'Syrialmazkin Kiyre', however I have found most humans do not react well to long designations, so I have shortened it to Syria for the time being."

It was at that point that another human made his entrance, this one not wearing a mask like the first one but offering a answer to her previous question. She turned to the second human to listen attentively during his explanation, her attention remaining fixed on him the entire time without blinking.

"I see," she replied once he had finished his explanation, her eyes glazing over for a second as her brain processed the information, finding nothing it didn't understand "Thankyou for your explanation," she replied, life returning to her face once again as she bowed her head respectfully.

"There isn't much that I know about Itsu myself," Yuri admitted in an apologetic tone, "All I know is that she's travelled over a fast number of other worlds, and that she's known for a pyramid of heroic deeds. She did speak of having a daughter though."

Yuri had stopped speaking for a moment, only to look back down from the sky and around at the many buildings that she and Idris have passed by. They all looked very different, yet none of them looked like the same type of building as a hotel.

'So many of these steel structures,' Yuri thought to herself, 'I can't even tell if we're close or far,'

Maire Gaboon

Stepping out of the shower of a small apartment, a small teenage girl by the name of Maire Gaboon checked her watch, only to note that the time was 1:00am in the morning. She seemed shocked that it was so late, and quickly rushed to get dressed. But she didn't put on any pyjamas; instead, she hastily slapped on some underwear and threw over a dress designed for casual attire, before bolting out of the door and into the streets, obviously in a rush to get somewhere.

Maire had a completely different body clock to that of most other humans. She would always go to bed some time in the late morning and never wake up again until dusk broke out, implying that she was largely a nocturnal person, rather than mostly diurnal like the other humans. It seemed to suit her as well, as she never liked to be out and about around too many people. In truth, the more people that were around her, the more likely her agoraphobia would throw her into a state of paranoia.

She slowed her running down as she got to her destination; the local park. However, her mood to play was completely extinguished when she noted a blinding light coming from Faust, which, even after this length of time, could still rival a sun within the universe in terms of brightness. Well, the light was blinding to Maire, since her eyes tended to "specialize" in seeing through darkness, something that was meant to be expected in the night. After her eyes have adjusted to the sudden brightness, Maire noted a humanoid being that seemed to take the form of a woman (Yggdrasil), and hesitantly approached.

"Um... excuse me?" Maire asked, after a brief gulp, "I... I don't mean to sound rude but um... m-may I ask why you're here?"

"Thank you~" Carla said as she hopped into the GTO's passenger side. "To be honest, I don't think I would have handled being exposed to the air for very long," she admitted to Jared, "at least not if I'm going to be watching these two rugrats go at it." Yes, she knew it was silly of her to now refer to her minimum amount of clothing, and was wishing she hadn't disregarded her "Members' Only Cloak", which she considered rather plain for her tastes.

"Not a problem, Syria," said Russell to the strange girl, nodding his head in return. "Glad we could help you."

Gabriel nodded to Syria as well, then asked the question that was on his mind: "You're... not from Detroit, are you, Syria? If I may ask, where do you come from?" He thought it was strange for such a young girl to be running around at this hour, but her mannerisms, coupled with her almost child-like inquisitiveness, had Gabriel thinking that there was a lot more to this child....

Yggdrasil didn't take her eyes from the sky and remained silent for a moment. A cold wind blew across the park as Yggdrasil felt a dark presence within this girl. Dark, but not evil. At least not as evil as the powers lurking within Faust. The wind stopped suddenly and she turned to face Maire.

"'Tis not a rude question, my child." She smiled. "In fact, curiosity is what makes you human, and it is one of the greatest gifts of being alive. As for your question, my name is Yggdrasil, and I am here to save as much life as possible from him." Her smile disappeared as she once again turned towards Faust. "Do you know what he is?"

Maire Gaboon

"Sorry... I-I don't what you're talking about," Maire stated, withdrawing slightly.

At this moment, Maire could hear a hiss and a rattle, but try as she might, she couldn't see the source of these noises. It must've come for Earthbound Immortal Cuauhcoatl, the dark deity that was watching over her. It didn't seem to like being detected this early, but it didn't find the humanoid being as its enemy... for the moment. Both Cuauhcoatl and Maire had more pressing concerns, such as the origins of Faust, and why exactly it remained hovering over the Earth.

"So um... can you tell u-... me, sorry, more about this comet overhead?" Maire asked, about to say the word "us", but suddenly retracting it as she still believed the being to be unaware of Cuauhcoatl's presence.

Jared Ruben

"Moitelpeef Oi turndatair condeeshinin oarn," Jared mentioned as he switched on the after-mentioned, before flicking the radio as well in case Carla would like to hear some music, and then suddenly realizing something...

At the moment, the GTO's lights were still on full beam, which he found to be a problem since that was the only way the other two could see it, and from there Alexander might recognize the GTO and have the other girl run for her life. That wasn't what Jared wanted at all, since even if the retrieval was successful, it could still attract Sector Security, or even someone else that would be hunting the cultists, like Palir, or even Yuri for that matter.

"Actually... moit fleeckem loitsoarf as well," Jared muttered, as he switched the lights completely off.

"Might help if I turn that air conditioning on."
"Actually... might flick them lights off as well."

"Oh," Idris replied blankly.

Anybody Else would likely have an entirely different reaction upon hearing that the solid metal statue a stranger was carrying around used to be a person who was some kind of universe-hopping hero, but Idris had heard many things in her life just as strange and was more than used to hearing stuff like this.

That would explain why they went after her then, she thought to herself.

She spotted the hotel in the distance and quickened her pace slightly, glancing back over her shoulder to check that Yuri was still following her.

"You okay back there?" She asked as she approached the main doors "That t-She isn't too heavy, is she?"

****

A ghost of a smile flickered briefly across Syria's face at the human's response, she rarely showed much expression of emotion but finding humans so keen to share any new information with her was something she deeply appreciated. Now it seemed as though it was her turn to answer questions though as the masked human spoke again to ask where she was from.

"I'm..." Syria paused, her eyes glazing over for a moment before a somewhat dissapointed expression slowly crossed her face "My...Files are corrupted. I'm afraid that information isn't available." Her voice sounded equally as dissapointed as she looked, for a species who's purpose was to gather information losing information was the worst thing that could happen to them.

""Files"...?" Gabriel thought as he and Russell both exchanged a similarly confused look with each other. "Such an odd manner of speaking; it's like she refers to herself like some sort of machine... but... wait, if she says her "files are corrupted", then... ... amnesia?" he concluded with himself as a saddened, pitying look crossed his face.

"You... really can't remember anything about where you came from?" Gabriel said to Syria. "... you poor child."

"She's saying she has amnesia?" Russell muttered to Gabriel, obviously having come to the same conclusion. "W... well, what should we do? I mean, we can't just have her wandering around like this, right?"

Gabriel nodded solemnly in agreement, then turned his attention to Syria. "Syria, where exactly are you staying right now? I mean, do you have a place that you're residing at currently?"

-----

"Yeah, that would be a good idea, "mate"," Carla said as Jared turned off the GTO's headlights. "Thank the forces that be for subtitles," she added, looking down at her smart phone, a vocal translator app displayed on the touch screen.
