werewolfjedi
Brian didn't even get out of his chair, if they were going to come now of all times, he was gonna just concentrate on the duel. "I don't think you have half a clue who you just challenged, you sad sad little fool." Brian activated his duel disk, as it expanded out from it's compact state, as he pulls a deck from his belt., slamming it into his auto shuffling deck slot, and drawing 5, and then his 6th. brian looked at his hand, and grinned. "lets start things off simple, I summon magical exemplar to the field." (5) a woman in green robes came up, holding her hands to the side, concentrating. "and now, I play heavy storm." (4) the giant storm of dust ravaged the field, and while the seal was unbroken, his face down cards were obliterated, as his monster reached her hands up and glowing orbs flowed in to orbit around her, forming into dark orbs with the spell symbol. "magical exemplar is a spell counter monster, and being present to the playing of a spell card, means that she collects the excess energy from it, and gains two spell counters, which fuel her effect." "Eh- eh, WAIT! Quick-play spell card activate, Poison of the Old Man!" Zabaniya declared, just as the Heavy Storm threatened to destroy his two set cards. A greel vial appeared in his hand and he quickly drank all of the contents. (LP: 5200) "How are you gonna deplete all those Life Poi-" Brian grinned as his opponent responded with a spell. " fool, that just makes my job easier" "next, I use my exemplar effect, once per turn, I may summon a spellcaster monster from my hand or graveyard, but in exchange I have to give up spell counters equal to the monster's level. I declare I shall summon a level 4 spellcaster, exemplar, conjuration gate." the woman in green raised her arms high, beginning her spell, as she the magician circle opened in front of her. "I summon, a second magical exemplar." another woman in green rose from within the circle, coming out, and taking her place beside the first, nodding to her wand weilding counterpart. he placed another spell card into his disk "next, I'll equip wonder wand to magical exemplar, adding two more spell counters as well." (3) Exemplar pulled the wand from the picture, and both raised their hands once more, drawing out another 2 counters each "and for my next move, I play a 3rd spell, foolish burial, and I send geomancer of the ice barrier to the graveyard." (1) the card protruded from his deck, and Brian pulled it out, as it auto shuffled after, and he placed it in his graveyard, as both the exemplars gains two more orbiting spell counters. "but he won't stay there for long. I use my second magical exemplar's conjuration, summon, geomancer of the ice barrier." she put her hands out, as a coffin rose from the circle, and opened, releasing a frigid blast of wind and snow, as the ice mage came to the field brian now stood up from the chair, grinning. "you may be wondering why I bothered summoning this little guy over some other, stronger monster, my answer? he's a tuner, and I now will synchro summon my second exemplar with my sorcerer, and together, they shall form victory!" the mage and the woman jumped, the boy becoming a trio of light and dark rings, and the woman becoming four stars, as Brian rose his un-disked arm, hand open wide as the winds picked up, his jacket fluttering. "when the laylines converge, and magical forces gather, a new force shall be born, I call on the lady of the dawn! I synchro summon, awaken, Arcanite magician!" A blue skined wizard in a cloaking white robe over a metal set of armor stood in their place, wielding a large staff. "mommy's home, and with her arrival, she gains 2 spell counters, and with them, she gains 2000 extra attack points, putting her at 2400." she merely raised her open palm, two orbs bursting with sparkles into existence. "I may not be able to attack because of your monsters, but I don't particularly need to worry about that, as arcanite's ability lets me rain destruction on your field with my spell counters! Arcanite magician, use 2 of exemplar's counters and remove those captain eyesores from the field, phantom destruction!" Arcanite rose her hand up, drawing 2 spell counters away from exemplar, and then creating a sigil in the air, as it shot out many beams of light, turning the marauding captains into swiss cheese before they were destroyed. "and now, I move to attack! exemplar, you first, direct attack, animate earth!" Exemplar slammed her wand into the ground, causing a bunch of rocks to fly out and pelt the cultist hard. (5200-3000) "next, arcanite magician, direct attack! SERAPHIC LAW!" she rose her staff, motes of light coming off it, coming to float above the injured cultist, as she was engulfed in a burning beam of light with slamed down on her. (3000-600) brian huffed a little, the mental and physical strain at handling a synchro monster for real tiring him somewhat. Brian took his last card and activated it, staring down his opponent, "next, I play terraforming, meaning I can add a field spell to my hand, which means I can add the magical citadel of endymon to my hand, useless as it is." another card pushed out the deck, auto shuffling once more after he pulls it out, as exemplar drew out 2 more spell counters. "I"m not finished, next I use wonder wand, and I sacrifice my first magical exemplar to draw two cards, exemplar, I require your services, tiring alchemy!" the woman nodded and stabbed the wand into the ground, concentrating, and causing his deck to glow, and as he drew his two cards, she fainted, the wand shattering, as he sent them to the graveyard. (3) "I set 2 cards and end my turn, and I promise you, your next turn, is your last turn." "You- you dare think you can one-turn-kill ME....?!" He shouted out, his eyes burning and his body hurt. "...so. Do you end your turn?" "go right ahead, though, I know you can't win, no matter what you play, I can destroy it with Arcanite magician, and I know she isn't going anywhere." Brian crossed his arms waiting for his opponent to finally admit defeat
Merci
The Seal of Orichalcos ominously glowed on Zabaniya's head. "Y- you...!" He spat out, wincing in pain. He had obviously been underestimating his opponent, having been under the impression that this would be yet another easy win. But apparently not. "I've captured the lives of six weaklings...why should you be any different?! Don't get cocky, you...! DRAW!" Drawing his third card, he realized that there was only one available move he could make...so that's what he would have to do. "I summon the Trojan Horse (ATK 1600 -> 2100), and then activate the spell card Double Summon which allows me to normal summon once again his turn!" Zabaniya began. "Now then, since Trojan Horse counts as two tributes for an Earth-attribute monster, I'll summon Tyler the Great Warrior!!!" A large wooden horse materialized before Zabaniya, before being replaced by a rather well-known yet extremely rare card, a powerful warrior with a black belt and spiky golden glowing hair... (ATK 3000 -> 3500). "Yes...among my victims was a peculiar man named Tyler Gressle. At first, I thought nothing of him but apparently he was well-known. Got sick or somethin', and some foundation got him to meet with Pegasus, the creator of Duel Monsters himself. Then they had a card designed after him, which he kept for many years - and I obtained it after taking his soul." A mad grin crossed Zabaniya's face. "It was only too bad. He survived death only to suffer it at the hands of the Orichalcos..." Then he pointed at Brian's Arcanite Magician. "Tyler the so-called Great Warrior has the ability to inflict damage to its opponent the ATK of a monster it destroys. So in other words...I'm going to wipe out a hell load of your life points!!!" With that, the Great Warrior launched a powerful kamehameha at the magician.
Kingdom Xathers
"Yeah, but do any of us truthfully give a crap about her?" Carla replied, really not interested in going on a "rescue mission". "But, hey, if you wanna find her, be my guest." Carla then began to rummage through the compartment between herself and Syria, pulling out a few DVDs that she might want to [s]steal[/s] [s]borrow[/s] watch later, among them being "V for Vendetta", "Despicable Me", and... ""Mucha Lucha"?" Carla uttered in confusion, holding up the DVD case. "Ugh, honestly, it's like I can't get away from anything wrestling-related...." Then a thought occurred to her. "Oh, that's right! I remembered something about that wrestling troupe that held that event. I think most of them went to join up with the "resistance"." If that were the case, then perhaps Carla could be able to find a way to use one of their numbers to [s]her[/s] the the cult's advantage.
Brian sighed "such a simple play, I hope you played better against the holder of that card, it should be in a museum, and I plan to put it there. I activate a trap card, wabaku, meaning that I take no damage, and my monster isn't destroyed." the trap card came up, as the nuns came up in front, and stopped the beam attack with their sanctuary barrier. "it was a nice try, and that's a powerful monster, which poses a small problem, but not one I can't handle, and considering that you have no more cards, I'm guessing you have no more moves, so, I shall begin your end." Brian drew his card, looking at it and smiling "looks like my deck wants to show you even higher levels of power than I"m possible of, but, you don't deserve to see it if you ask me. I activate arcanite's effect once more, this time using her own power to fuel the effect, I'm sorry great tyler, but I must free you from your torment, phantom destruction!" arcanite formed the sigil once more, as she pierced Tyler with the light beams, destroying the monster, as her ATK fell ( 2400-1400) Brian looked at his opponent darkly. Merci
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" As Brian's attack went through, Zabaniya was pierced by the spears of light and thrown heavily against the green barrier of the Orichalcos. With a short cry cut short, the light faded away from the eyes of the college cultist, and the Seal finished absorbing his soul. Then he collapsed to the ground, lifeless, 'Tyler the Great Warrior' slipping out of his graveyard slot and onto the ground as he fell. Then the Seal of Orichalcos surrounding Brian slowly disappeared, and the field spell slipped out of his Duel Disk as well, able to be picked up by anyone foolish enough to do so... werewolfjedi
Brian walked over and picked up Tyler, putting him with his extra deck so he wouldn't lose it. "I'll put you where you belong. hmm, a seal card...hey, you gotta match? I don't wanna touch this, he was crazy, and I think this might be why." Brian walked back over to the computer, looking over the data streaming over the screen "miss, what's the progress on the stone, any useful information at least?"
Merci
"Good job....on defeating a cultist...." Protheus congratulated him, and by now Brian should be able to see that something was obviously wrong with him. His sword's sheath seemed to be shaking and his clothes growing darker and somehow more...menacing, in a way. His body was also becoming thinner, in contrast to the muscular stature he had before, and for a moment his eyes seemed to have black sclera - he blinked and they were white again. Looking at Brian seemed to help him resist somehow, and his clothes regained a bit of its former royal white color. But that was only for a moment before it was consumed by gray again. "Well, as to your question...if you look at the reports on the screen, you'll notice that this bit of Orichalcum is a conductor despite being a stone...among other things..." He winced. Thranduil
Arta let out a soft sigh, he liked Cynthia but the fact that she was trying to tease him during a duel was rather distracting. But of course that was Cynthia's intention. "Cynthia, I like you and all, but two things. First I am in the middle of a duel, and second I never expected to get this far without a first date.I was hoping to have you clinging to me eventually but so soon. I am touched." Arta had a huge grin on his face as he said the last part to Cynthia. Arta looked back and noticed Yuuto's monster was close to hitting his Tyrant King. "I know the effect of of your Dark Flair Knight, so lets see if you can truly win with that Mirage Knight you plan on getting out." As the two monsters collided Arta watched as the dust from Dark Flair Knight was sucked into a vortex and from that vortex emerged a knight clad in golden armor wielding a large golden scythe. a bad post
"Well now that.. that I'm impressed by,"Cynthia said remarking on Arta's comment about how far he was getting,"but boy ever say that you will have me clinging to you again and will rip your c*ck out, I am not your object so just heed that warning sweety, and besides you could all use a little distraction, I mean your all quite stiff if you ask me," Cynthia stood up and moved herself to the middle of the duel,"come on let's just huge it out here, come on bring it in,"Cynthia made a jesture for everyone to participate in a group huge, when nobody moved Cynthia backed out to the back of the crowd,"fine bunch of stiffs can't get in touch with there inner feelings." Merci
Protheus sighed. "Allow me...to explain it myself, okay?" He said, shaking his head once again. "I am immortal, as immortal as it gets, thanks to powerful shadow magic granted by my late Master..." He then launched into an explanation. It was a mysterious and powerful magic that froze him in time while still allowing him to keep experiencing things in life, although even such magic created by gods had their flaws. For Protheus, to explain, that flaw was the method that allowed him to continue 'remembering', and the more he's exposed to past elements instead of new, it confuses the magic which transcends time itself, the magic which overlooks and regulates his immortality from outside time itself, and makes it believe for just a short moment 'hey, maybe I got the date wrong' and goes back. He shook his head again after having explained it all to Brian, grasping it for a moment as his eyes regained their black sclera - and this time, permanently. "Alright I will keep the jokes about you and I to a minimum, and I would join you in the hug however moving would forfet the duel." Arta gave Cynthia a wink but she had already started to walk away. Love of Ghibli
Lucas had listened to Carla's tale about the wrestlers of course she misunderstood the statement about the stripper it wasn't a "rescue mission" more of an invasion into enemy territory but then again none of that matters now doesn't it. Time for drinks. Though when Carla mentioned the wrestlers.."Well of course you were with them, isn't that your profession?" Before she could reply. "Oh look we're here." Lucas proclaimed. The building on the surface level was quite destroyed. A tree had fallen on it, some people were screaming under some rubble, some other people not so lucky. None of this phased Lucas however it would be the equivalent of white noise that was visual. He did however think that this would be a good time to test out his super strength so he began kicking rubble out of the way and he helped save some lives (that would be a bonus). Apparently he saved a family a husband and wife with three kids one passed out but still alive. It reminded him of his family as he had three children, what would happen to them if this whole end of the world thing comes to fruition...meh doesn't matter. Where is the entrance to this bar again? he thought. As he remembered he went to the the side walk on the opposite end of the street and stomped on a panel. Right in front of where both girls a tunnel opened up and as Lucas led everyone down this disturbingly well lit tunnel it closed back up and he decided to give a little backstory. Well ladies, welcome to the Underground. I know, its not the most original name ever...but who cares? This bar was started by a paranoid friend of mine named Michael. I guess at some point in his life he decided that dying was thing worst to ever happen so he should prepare for every instance. Thus leading to his horrible irrational fear of natural disasters, which in turn led to this place. Complete with back up generators, propane tanks for cooking, enough provisions to last two lifetimes, movies, games etcetera. He looked back at Syria who most likely didn't understand all of these nouns that were being thrown around. In short this is the safest place to be in Detroit for normal people. He opened the door at the end of the hallway and what was there was a very cool and relaxed lounge seen truly his kind of place. Some survivors were already there playing pool, getting their wound checked out, watching one of the giant TV's looking at the news of the destruction. Of course the three newcomers warranted some attention mainly because they didn't appear affected at all, but that was only momentary as everyone went on about there business. Lucas got him and the girls a nice booth and as they all sat down he let out a deep sigh of relaxation. Well what do you girls want to drink? First round is on me.
Merci
"APPEAR NOW, MIRAGE KNIGHT!!!" Yuuto shouted out, and as his dark knight was supposedly destroyed by Arta's monster, it suddenly reappeared as a golden knight wielding a scythe, surrounded by a fiery, blazing mist. (ATK 2800) "When it battles an opponent's monster, it gains that card's ATK! So since your monster's ATK is 3900, that's how much it gains...! GO, MY MIRAGE KNIGHT! ATTACK HIS TYRANT KING WITH OASIS STRIKER!" The Mirage Knight then charged forward, gaining a massive amount of ATK (ATK 6700) as it swung its scythe down onto the monster, the resulting clash bringing forth a brilliant light. Kingdom Xathers
As the duel between Arta and Yuuto continued, Shannon and her husband, Archer, a.k.a. Triple A, approached Gabriel and Russell. Triple A was carrying with him a blood-covered sledgehammer, while he himself was also covered in blood, none of it his. "W-what the hell happened?!" Russell stammered as soon as he saw Archer. "Long story," Shannon said, trying to explain. However, she was cut off by Gabriel. "Seriously? Even when buying a phone, we have to be wary of Cultists?!" "Yeah," replied the gruff Archer, resting the sledgehammer across his shoulder, "somethin' like that...." Shannon once again began to explain: "Over at the Verizon store, we ran into... a problem. Not just cultists, either; I was trying to convince this ONE BIATCH to try and transfer your data from your broken phone into a new one--" "Aww, you didn't have to do that," Russell interjected, appreciative of her attempt though trying to sound like a smartass about it. "You're welcome," Shannon replied flatly before continuing. "Anyways, she kept trying to play it off like she didn't know jack-squat about data transferring." "Although, in her defense," Gabriel added, "she probably couldn't do a thing with a phone that was snapped in half and then some." "Is it that hard to let me finish, guys?" said a miffed Shannon. "Yes, I know the phone was beyond repair, but the data should still be there." She then huffed a irritated sigh before continuing once more. "So anyways, I was arguing with the frikkin' yutz when--" "--when a few cultist freaks walked in," Archer said, earning him an angry, "WTF?"-type of look from his wife for interrupting her. Despite this, he continued: "One of them approached, activating that Field Spell... what's it called again?... oh, yeah, "The Seal of Oreo-klos"." Everyone hearing the conversation immediately did a face-plant. "OriCHALCOS!!" Shannon shouted at Archer, "it's OriCHALCOS, you f**kin' sonuva--!!" "Hey, hey, calm down! You're starting to act like your dad," Archer said, actually backing away a bit from Shannon. Shannon took a few deep breaths to calm herself. "... okay, well, now that we've had our "Hooked on Phonics" lesson for the day...," she said calmly before motioning to Archer to continue. "Yeah, so, the guy activates the Seal of--" (Archer feigns a cough to cover up his botched pronounciation) "--and tries to get me and Shannon to Duel. So then I was like, "Sorry bud, I ain't got a Duel Disk with me, but I've got something just as good." Which was when I brought out this baby," he said, lifting up his sledgehammer. "And you hit him with it?" asked Gabriel. "Nah. He ran right into it." Archer said nonchalantly. "He ran into my sledgehammer ten times--OF COURSE I HIT HIM WITH THE DAMNED THING!!" The sudden outburst from Archer caused Gabriel to hop into the air a couple of feet and into Russell's arms (not unlike how Scooby-Doo would with Shaggy). "Oh, whoops. Sorry 'bout that, Gabe." "No, you're not," Russell said, cradling the shaking Gabriel a bit before dropping him. "Anyways, I knocked the guy out, hit him once in the head with the hammer," Archer continued, "and... that was it. The Seal took the guy's soul and that was that. Of course, his buddies still thought it was a good idea to gang up on me, so...." "Let's just say," Shannon replied, "that we got the phones for free in exchange for paying for the damage caused to the store." ""Phones"?" Gabriel repeated, picking himself up from the ground. "I thought you were just getting one phone?" "Yeah, well, we finally convinced the manager to see what he could do about the memory on your damaged phone," Shannon explained, "but in the meantime, we got you a temporary pre-paid phone and a Calling Card for 3000 free minutes." She handed the items in question to Russell. "Happy Early Birthday, Rusty." "Uh, thanks," Russell replied as he gratefully accepted his phone. "Now you can call your new girlfriend," CJ Brat added with a smug smirk. Russell proceeded to pantomime his threat to CJ as Archer and Shannon looked on, confused. "Girlfriend? Since when...?" Shannon muttered to herself. ~~~ "Wow. For a "disaster shelter"," Carla said, taking a look around the Underground, "this place doesn't look half-bad." She was aware that some of the patrons that had turned to look at the three Swordspeople lingered their gaze for a few more seconds, obviously on her, but she didn't care; she was more or less used to men eying her (in fact, she even caught a few women checking her out a few times). Once they reached the booth Lucas was leading them to, Carla let Syria get in first before she herself took her seat. "Your treat, huh?" Carla replied to Lucas' offer. "Well, that's very nice of you, isn't it?" She then took a look at the beverage menu, trying to decide what drink she would like to start with. "I guess I can forgive that comment you made back at the car, then," she thought to herself, "whatever you were implying by it...."
Premier Alexander Romanov
"DING!!!" The glass retracted around the stone, and Ringmistress was silent for a few seconds before responding. "I...I need time to process this data...just go..." She sounded slower than normal, and took pauses, as if she was still thinking, or out of breath. "To make a long story short...the guy who attacked the Duel Arcadia, General Dwight Castle...he's now in charge of what is called...the Detroit Emergency Management Zone, which we are inside of. I think...I think he is a high-ranking Orichalcos member, possibly the cult leader's second-in-command. He's declared...martial law, has Itsu's friend the Mayor eating out of his hand, and...he currently commands...a sizable military force...to 'maintain the peace'. His...his record is surprising, and he seems like...like he is the last person you would suspect...to be this heavily involved...with the Orichalcos cult. He possibly has...some sort of...an ulterior motive. Get moving, because...his goons, Task Force Reforge...they are heading...heading here..." Ringmistress was having a hard time simultaneously talking to Protheus and Brian, managing the huge cluster of data she received, prepping One For The Money for takeoff to assist Atsuko and Yuri, and manage tons of other tasks. She felt bloated and sluggish, her bandwidth being hogged by communication between various distributed nodes. She figured it was a miracle that her fat ass hadn't been detected already, but she needed to do something that she had been told not to do by Itsu herself, unless it was an absolute emergency. But if she was going to survive this war, she had to do it. She was going to use her duplication application to clone her core algorithms and surrender control of a good amount of her nodes to the new AI, effectively twinning herself, like an amoeba. Natsu watched the duel between an enraged Yuuto and the soldier Arta, but went over to the pair of wrestlers. "Excuse me, but could you two help me with something?" werewolfjedi
Brian looked at protheus, a solemn look across his visage, as he went to grab the stone pieces they had, pocketing them, while un holstering his shock pulse handgun, no more games, if they couldn't play the seal, they couldn't trap them, so planned to shoot first and ask questions later. "not good, pro, you secure the way out, I'll gather up everything here, I say we leave before we get captured. one of us at least has to make it out of here to get our men moving, so it looks like I'm your protection, seeing as your the more important one. now go sir! I"ll be right behind you." Brian scooped up the cult's dueldisk, and removed the deck. "this could come in handy." tossing it too the floor, he aimed at the ciomputer. " miss AI, clear the computer with the data we got, I'm shooting it to cover our tracks since my fingerprints are all over it now, in 10 seconds." Brian took aim, and counted down from
Merci
"...well, you heard her. Brian, let us return to the base for now." Protheus said faintly, turning to the person who had just fought off a cultist, his black sclera looking as if they absorbed the darkness of the laboratory. He listened to Brian. "You are somewhat paranoid, but understandable. Then let us be on our way-" Before the immortal could finish his sentence, his eyes connected with Brian's shock pulse handgun. And then suddenly froze. No, more like paused in time... There is a reason why the man called Protheus Maximus can be so fast at times, and times when he can stand on top of people's heads without the person in question noticing. If someone were to weight Protheus, he would only weigh ten pounds - and that's when you include the clothes and sword. Remove those, and he would possibly be literally as light as a feather. Therefore, when he fell and collapsed on the ground, it was a rather light fall, without any distinctive sound to prove that he had actually fallen, weighing only ten pounds. He was unconscious. No, not unconscious, but 'paused in time'. Hypothetically, something paused in time could be thrown into a black hole and they would make it to the very core of the black hole unscathed. Of course, once they're no longer frozen they'd be torn apart instantly, but still. Something indestructible. A condition done to preserve Protheus, in this case until the 'error' had been solved. His eyes, open, stared at the ceiling without moving. His body remained completely motionless, and in a way it looked as though he were dead. This was only aided by the fact that there was no heartbeat. But still, he was alive. To summarize, Protheus Maximus was 'unconscious', having been 'paused in time' for the time being. And he had tumbled down onto the floor.
werewolfjedi
"Protheus, is the hallway clear? sir, did you hear me I said is the, oh what the hell just happened to you!" Brian looked back, seeing him fallen over, and growled "fanfuckingstatsic" he grumbled as he walked over to him and kicked him lightly, no response to it made him just groan, he was going to have to carry his ass out at this rate. Brian went to pick him up "w-woah, he's, really light...unreal..." Brian didn't question his good fortune, aiming his weapon and setting it to max, he took 2 shots at the keyboard, melting it with the bolts. "lets see them stop us now." Brian leveled his weapon and carried Protheus out under his arm, taking a shot at anything that moved.
Kingdom Xathers
"In all seriousness, though," Gabriel spoke up after laughing at Russell's antics with CJ, "you should text your mother, let her know that you have a temporary cell phone." "Yeah, you've got a point," Russell replied. "'Course, then she'll probably text me back repeatedly until she's sure I'm okay. I wouldn't blame her, though." Shannon McKowen nodded. "Now, Russell, I'm only going to tell you this once," she said: "Please try not to get this phone broken." "Yes, ma'am," said Russell as a child would say to his mother. It was then that a girl, Natsu, came up to Gabriel and Russell and asked, "Excuse me, but could you two help me with something?" Gabe and Russell glanced at each other for a second, before Gabriel answered her. "Um... sure, pero what exactly is it that you need help with?"
Merci
Protheus's eyes remained open, his body unmoving and completely unaffected by anything. On the other hand, anyone within close range of him had memories of his life suddenly and slowly play and unfold itself within their minds... -------------------------- Ancient Egypt. A hot place where the red sands symbolized evil and the black earth symbolized good, a powerful and advanced civilization at the time that utilized experienced workers and farmers to create amazingly mathetically-accurate pyramids, and great 'sphinxes'] to be their guardian. Their culture and life revolved around the River Nile, which gave them all they needed for life. Crossing the river and back was symbolic, like crossing to the afterlife and back. This was what the modern world believed anyway, and in a way, the modern world was quite correct. But they missed a few things... that is, until the famous Maximilian Pegasus discovered these missed things, strange Egyptian stone tablets, and proceeded to create the ever-popular Duel Monsters based after them. These stone tablets were in fact sealed 'ka', evil spirits formed from the hearts of humans given shape. They could take the shape of practically anything, and virtually every Duel Monster has their own stone tablet lying somewhere, even if there had been nothing inside that tablet in question. Once upon a time, thousands of years ago, there was a slave with hair unlike any other, second only to the very Prince the son of the Pharaoh, King Akhenaden himself. This slave ended up as the Pharaoh's favorite, but do not be fooled. To be the favorite of a royal meant to be constantly brought upon to do this and to do that...to the point when the slave was starting hate him for his treatment... This slave's name was Pener. TotalObelisk
As the car pulled up outside the ruined building Syria found herself gazing out of the window towards it, noticing small signs of movement from within the rubble. As she and the other got out it didn't take long for Lucas to march right up to the rubble and simply shift it aside as if rummaging through a pile of paper. Syria found herself staring at the stone resting on her palm, wondering just what else it granted its user. Once her was done Lucas lead them down a hidden tunnel and into the underground shelter he'd been talking about, already occupied by several other people. Heads turned as they made their entrance, the sight of an older man walking into a bar with two younger women no doubt raising a few eyebrows, but nobody said a thing and merely went back to their business. Syria cast her gaze around at all the different features of the room, her eyes lingering momentarily on the giant television screen still broadcasting the same news footage. Her gaze was still on the screen when the three of them sat down and only shifted once Lucas asked them what they wanted. Almost instinctively Syria cast a quizzical look at Carla who was reading of a laminated sheet of paper, Syria leaned over slightly to read off it as well, but having barely learnt to read the human language she found herself completely lost in the list of fancy names and exaggerated descriptions. "I...Think I'll pass," she said quietly.
Premier Alexander Romanov
Ringmistress started the process of twinning her core algorithms, carefully making sure to correct any possible errors. It was using all of her concentration to fly One For The Money and clone herself, but she added some variation to the personality matrix so the clone would be different from herself. Eventually, the new AI core came online, and started assimilating some of Ringmistress' nodes, giving her some much-needed breathing room. "Artificial Intelligence, designation...Lion Tamer, online." Lion Tamer quickly learned how to pilot her big sister's Pelican, and took over in the space of a blink, flying One For The Money towards Yuri and Atsuko while Ringmistress got to doing some reading. Atsuko suddenly looked through the pain of her injury to see where Yuri was driving, and cried out. "WE'RE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD!!!" Natsu sat down across from Gabriel and Russell and asked them. "Well...I was created for no purpose. I have no idea why I was revived, and I feel so useless and without meaning...what keeps you humans going? Why do you continue living and fighting? What drives you to do these things? What is your purpose in life?" She sighed and looked down at the ground. "I want to understand these things, so I can maybe find some meaning for why I exist." Love of Ghibli
Lucas was somewhat happy and content with his current situation Carla was not eye molesting someone, and Syria...well she can't really do anything out of the ordinary because she wouldn't even understand what is ordinary so by not smashing babies she is meeting expectations. Lucas did hear Syria say that she would pass on the drinking, but he immediately realized that was simply because she didn't understand what any of those items were. Oh we can't have that, lets get you a flight of red wine. Its a small amount of 4-5 different red wines that the bar carries. As your teammate I should help you in all of your goals so time to observe human culture. As Lucas finished his statement a waiter came with 4 glasses each with a different drink. Of course Lucas didn't order anything yet but the waiter started looking at the girls. Excuse me ladies those men over there ordered these for you. He pointed to a table at the far end of the room. It was four men, all looking to be in their early 30's. They looked a little war torn but that is logical for anyone who wasn't a cultist or anything. They weren't ugly maybe someone with Carla's obviously low standards could find pleasure in their company. Lucas did think it was kind of rude to interrupt his conversation, but at the same time this did provide opportunity to test the stones out. Lucas took out his stone fragment and this ornament he took from the temple. It seemed to be a bracelet with some Enochian words inscribed on it but when it came in contact with the stone it morphed and combined with Lucas' watch and made a new watch band. Cool..he thought but onto some more experimentation. All right ladies, he said as he signaled the waiter to go away I think we have a way to test out our new gifts. Well at least you two do anyway. He said signalling the waiter to get him a scotch he may have said no words but the staff of this place know all of Micheal's friends. TotalObelisk
Almost as soon as she'd spoken up Lucas immediately cut across her, instead offering her something called a 'flight of red wine', a name which mean absolutely nothing to Syria, but Lucas was at east considerate enough to explain it to her and she was able to guess quite easily that wine was some form of drink, though she still didn't know exactly what kind of drink so thephrase was still lost on her. "Well, thankyou," she replied, both to his explanation and his offer to help her. Before she could speak up again the waiter arrived, leaving Syria somewhat confused as they hadn't actually ordered anything yet, not to mention there where only three of them and the aiter was carrying four glasses, none of which Syria could identify. Her confusion was quickly answered though once the waiter point out the men across the other side of the room, though this led to slightly more confusion on Syria's part. "Is it customary to purchase drinks for a stranger?" She asked, still puzzled by this bizarre behaviour.
