The Amazing Spider-Man

I absolutely loved this movie. I'm not concerned with whether or not this is better than the original trilogy as much as I am with how this films stands out on its own, something I feel it succeeded at. Most people think that it treads over the same territory as the original trilogy, but I feel that it takes the effort to avoid similarities as often as it could, particularly with the use of the Lizard.
I liked the movie a lot too. Andrew Garfield did a pretty good job of playing Peter Parker, though he could stand to be a little less angsty (though I attribute that to the film's overall tone rather than his take on the character). And I'll always love Emma Stone no matter what her role is, but I can say she made a fun character without bias.
The Lizard, well, I wanted him to be more feral-looking, but I could accept what was given. I think it'd be cool if Connors continued being important throughout the films and maintain some form of relationship with Peter like he does in the video game.
For the film overall, I think they should lighten the sequel up a bit. If Gwen gets killed off in the next film, it might actually have a stronger impact if everything before it is more light-hearted. And throw in some more good-natured wisecracks rather than snarky ones, but it wasn't like the latter didn't fit Spidey.

I'm thinking Green Goblin. I read somewhere that the next sequel's villain would be hinted at in the movie and Normie's name was thrown around a lot.
But that after credits scene made me think maybe Mysterio? I'm trying to think who else could come in and out a cell like that, but if Mysty's coming, the movie'll need someone else to help carry the story.
I think the movie was awesome, imo better than the first trilogy already. A shame there was no Jameson, though, he's my favorite character.

Also, I teared up, like, 3 times in that movie. (Once when Peter was tearing up talking about his dad, and at the two death scenes.)

I will always compare not only to the original series, but to my own Spider-Man script as well, and I think because of that it becomes very average. I think the main issue I had with it was that it had so much potential- at times I honestly really loved it and at other times I was there thinking "oh dear that was poor". I love Mark Webb, big fan of 500 Days of Summer too, and I think the cast did a more than great job. The script was average, and the score was eh. Couple of really cool shots in it though, the POV shot when he's using the webshooters are cool.

The main issue was probably it's poor character development. Who felt anything for Lizard? And if you did-- seriously? The development of his character was very poor as was the sudden change in personality he went through. Twice.
Ben's death felt forced, Captain Stacy's death was poor and just felt pointless and the film as a whole felt rushed once he actually became Spider-Man]
But there we go. Looking forward to the sequel, and it's a shame that it's not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I personally loved the movie, but I recognize that there are things wrong with it. Nonetheless, I would say that it is better than all of the original three. In comparison to the original first movie specifically, I thought Peter was developed better in the new movie, Gwen Stacy was a better love interest than Mary Jane, and the Lizard was a better villain than the Green Goblin, although the Lizard was one of the weaker elements of the film nonetheless.

The serum caused Connors' shift in personality. I felt sympathy for Connors, but not for him as the Lizard.

I was aware of that, it was just that it seemed very forced and to be honest unrealistic. The sudden change in morals and cognitive thought processes was strange to watch as a psychology student.
Especially when he suddenly changed back to his old self at the end at precisely the right time to save Peter. Was almost as bad as the whole crane thing to help him get to OsCorp Tower: bleh! Poor writing.

IT WAS SO BLOODY GOOD

I mean everyone has their own opinions, especially when they compare this one to the original Spiderman movies, but seriously, I enjoyed it thoroughly. It may just be because of my biased opinion on Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone though.

Also, it was filmed at my high school (all the outside school parts and the hallway scene when Spiderman is fighting off the Lizard guy), so my friends and I tried to sneak into a scene where there was so many extras, but since we're obviously shorter than all the older extras, the guard noticed and we had to go back to our lunch area haha.

Haha yeah it was such an exciting day! I have friends who met Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield, but sadly, I wasn't around when they met them. But it was still really awesome seeing my school in the film.

And yeah haha, we were disappointed for being killed out cause we got to ready to be perfectly in sync with the extras and go by the director's instructions and do what was needed, but it was way obvious that we didn't belong sing all the extras were in their 20s or so.
