Hi. I honestly don't have a clue why I'm here (the forum or the club, take your pick), but hi.

If I am accepted into this prestigious organization... don't expect me to be active. I swear, I won't be. I'm only joining because the original Mushroom Kingdom had some of my fondest memories of this place.

Username: I don't have a username, my apologies.
Favorite Nintendo Series: A tie between Super Mario and Pokemon.
Favorite Nintendo Game: You'd be hard-pressed to get a legitimate answer out of me - though, at the moment, I'd probably be inclined to say Super Mario 64.
Favorite Nintendo Character: Again, there's no way I can choose - I've always been a fan of Dry Bones, though.
Impress me with Nintendo Knowledge: Miyamoto. That is all.

Welcome back Dark!

OT: I never played B2/W2. I listen to its OST and, from what I have heard, I am very impressed with how the music was done. They kept some music and remixed the other. I'd give the music a 9.25, for some shaky areas but being all-around awesome and nostalgic.

I feel forced to say instant Royal Court, just for old times sake.

It's good to see you again man, really.

As for B/W2 soundtrack, I've listened to it, but I still prefer, like, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald's soundtrack. Gen 3 is probably my favorite.

R/S/E had a great soundtrack, but I've been digging into Gen 5's soundtrack even more. Also, I think my new favorite city would be Seigaiha City (just for the fact that it is a settlement on water like Pacifidlog Town, but it manages to be a full city as well).

The Gen. 3 soundtracks were meh, imo. I'd have to say Gen. 4 had the best, mainly cause it was unique and didn't sound like it was ripped-off from the last games. Also because Cynthia. Bad. Ass.

Game Freak left the wording like that because the internet didn't wrap their head around the word "cum" and all associations with that word yet. However, they began the bowlderizing in hgss with the diologue and names (In case if you haven't noticed, the Firebreather Dick was renamed into Firebreather Richard and such).

Stolen directly from my iTunes, if it's any indication of my Pokemon soundtrack preference:

Pokemon Black/White: 63 songs
Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver: 22 songs
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum: 18 songs
Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen: 18 songs
Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald: 17 songs
Pokemon Red/Blue: 5 songs

Gen I music was all chiptunes, and unless you're really into that stuff, it's a bit bland. I mean, I love my 8-bit music, but Pokemon never did it right sans a few songs. Same goes for Gen II music, even though everyone seems to love it. I hated the entire GSC soundtrack - every single damn track. I don't really know why, especially since among my vgm-loving friends, I seem to be the odd one out in disliking Gen II music. Perhaps it is just a bit of personal preference.

Gen III and the Gen I remakes were the first games to actually get orchestrated music down, but failed pretty badly. A few memorable tracks (Lilycove Art Museum - so underrated) were spread throughout, but I hated the brass feel of RSE music. In terms of FRLG, considering how much I disliked the Gen I music (only five songs I listen to frequently), I found the orchestral remixes to be a breath of really fresh air. LeafGreen was the first soundtrack I seriously listened to, and the second Pokemon game I ever owned (after Silver - I got Ruby and Sapphire after LeafGreen, for whatever reason).

Gen IV was the first generation to really get modern music down. I mean, DPPt had tracks like Canalave and Spear Pillar. The battle music was still really bad, though, which is why I think HGSS surpassed what DPPt ever could have done. HGSS had such a relaxed feel that it didn't even need good battle music, and some of its remixes were amazing. I mean, I fell in love with so many songs - Route 47/48, Azalea Town, Cinnabar Island... and, just comparing it to GSC, I absolutely loved it.

BW (and thus B2W2) was good in a really biased way, since the composers already had a lot of practice from HGSS and DPPt, and had a lot to refer to. The music was really good, sure, and I appreciated all the piano elements, but I got bored of the BW soundtrack really quickly. At least HGSS kept me occupied for a few months - BW died out after the first few listens. But, god, some of these songs were amazing - Unwavering Emotions, Undella Town, Lacunosa Town... and I think it was the first series of games where I liked most of the route themes.

I haven't listened to B2W2, so you guys need to make me recommendations. I hope they didn't remix the hell out of everything, because I'd like a few BW tracks to remain untouched, especially for people who are picking up B2W2 as their first game. I probably won't have the time to sift through the entire soundtrack myself, so a small taste of it would be super useful.

Here are some recommendations:

World Tournament Final Battle, just because it has that kirby feel to it.
Team Plasma is back, and this time they mean business.
I love how the composers took the Unova Gym Leader Battle music and added more of a rock element to it, which makes it (for me) much more addicting to listen to.

I have to disagree with the Gen 3 brass feeling. I can understand why that would turn people off of the soundtrack, and god knows they did OVERUSE it to hell, but I still loved it.

The Regi Battle Theme, The Elite Four, Deoxys, of course Lilycove Museum.

I guess it's just one of those "Love it or Hate it" type of tracks.

So, I kind of wanted to start a tournament of some kind, but since my Wii has been pretty dead for a couple months, I can't go with my original idea of a Brawl tourney. I would say Mario Kart 7, but I'm not sure how many people have it.

So here's the idea. If you have a good idea of a tourney we could have, even if it's something online, and it's a good idea, then we could get a tourney going which is something I would have liked the old one to do.

Also, Pokemon Online Tourney is totally possible if enough people like the idea.

Well...we could always do a Brawl tourney without Dane...
And goddamn, if I wasn't on a budget, I'd get another DS so I'm ready for B2W2.
Stupid Gamestop and their friggin handheld rip-off hgfrtthhgbvvxssf...
