This world is known solely by the name “[color=#ff0000]Rei[/color].”[/font][/size] [size=3][font=verdana, geneva, sans-serif]Long ago, [color=#ff0000]Rei [/color]was ruled by a cruel man whose real name has been lost to history, though most refer to him by the name of [color=#0000ff]Ryō Hanbun[/color], a name meaning “Two Halves.” [color=#0000ff] Ryō[/color] was known for a decree that separated the wealthy, inbred nobles and working-class commoners into their own sectors of the globe. For a long time, the nobles lived in prosperity, while the rest of the world suffered. Eventually, the inbreeding amongst the noble families grew so rampant that multiple generations would exist within one level of a family tree, and their bodies grew frail and weak. Meanwhile, the commoners grew in strength and launched a massive revolt against [color=#0000ff]Ryō Hanbun[/color] and the nobles. However, they were defeated by a strange power that [color=#0000ff]Ryō[/color] possessed—One that allowed him to destroy entire swaths of land with a flick of the wrist. Eventually, the survivors retreated back to their hovels across the globe, recuperating from the assault and waiting for extermination.[/font][/size] [size=3][font=verdana, geneva, sans-serif]However, there came a day that a man named [color=#daa520]Hikari no Kami[/color] came to the aid of the survivors of the rebellion. They caused howling typhoons and crashing waves, blazing infernos and freezing blizzards. Finally, their quarrel came to an end when [color=#daa520]Hikari no Kami[/color] formed a ball of shining light between his hands. He attacked [color=#0000ff]Ryō Hanbun[/color] with the ball of light, and his soul and body separated. [color=#daa520]Hikari no Kami[/color] banished [color=#0000ff]Hanbun’s[/color] soul to [color=#4b0082]Mu[/color], the plane of nothingness; he sent his body to [color=#008000]Mugen[/color], the plane of infinity. Meanwhile, the remainder of [color=#ff0000]Rei’s[/color] population is trying desperately trying to combat this growing threat, but their faith in [color=#daa520]Hikari no Kami[/color] is waning…Could it be that [color=#daa520]Hikari no Kami[/color] has grown weary of the new world he created, and is abandoning those who were once fiercely loyal to him? They are also gifted healers. However, as they must tap directly into the essence of creation to access Mugen energy, their abilities drain a lot of energy from the user. [*][color=#4b0082]Mu [/color]— People bestowed with this ability can tap into the plane of nothingness and can wield incredible destructive power. Like people with Mugen-based powers, they can also create things. However, their powers drain a lot of energy from the user. Also, constructs and forces made of Mu energy are highly unstable, as they simultaneously exist and do not exist. [*][color=#ffa500]Sekai [/color]— People who wield Sekai can control the natural elements of Earth, Metal, Wood, and Water. [*][color=#008080]Tengoku [/color]— People who wield Tengoku can control the ethereal elements of Fire, Air, and Lightning. [*][color=#ee82ee]Keiro [/color]— Wielders of the Keiro ability are gifted with the ability to travel down any path they so choose. They are able to view the outcomes of their own actions, travel great distances in a mere instant, and travel back into their past. People with this ability perhaps have some of the worst drawbacks of all, as they tend to have unstable mental states, and if they travel back in time and directly influence any events that have an influence on the world, they could rip apart the very fabric of the universe. Therefore, possessors of this ability are few and far between, and those that do exist are strictly monitored at all times. The Loyalists are almost entirely composed of Mugen and Tengoku users, with very few Mu and Sekai users known. It is also said that there is a very powerful Keiro user among the loyalists... [*]Ryūkyūden - The capital (and only) city of the world of Rei. It spans almost the entire Northern and Western hemispheres, and is divided into 42 sectors, each approximately the size of China. [*]Ankoku no Sekai - The "Dark World"; Everything not incorporated into Ryūkyūden is a part of this. People who commit serious offenses are banished to these lands to die. It is said that, only after journeying throughout all of Ankoku no Sekai, Hikari no Kami was powerful enough to take on Ryō Hanbun. [*]Tsuki no Taiseidō - "The Cathedral of the Moon", a large temple built into the side of a mountain in Ankoku no Sekai. He is a rather pale person, which cause his dark, cold red eyes stand out from his face. His jet black hair is unkempt and is overgrown, coming to shoulder length and covering the right side of his face down to his mouth. The blackness of the hair is occasionally dotted with red sections; dried blood from his previous murders. He wears a black jumpsuit with blue stripes that is kept from his days within a high-security prison, and has been torn and dirtied a lot due to it always being worn. It is also speckled with multiple dried blood stains, and has varied bullet and slash holes in it, though many reveal no scars underneath. Straps and shackles still remain on his suit, reminders of his time in prison(And occasionally useful weapons)[/spoiler] [b]Personality[/b]: Although the word doesn't seem to quite fit, it is the only word that can come close to describing what [size=4]Nikko is[/size]. Insane. It's not his fault, of course. It never is [s][size=1][i]never a choice. never, never[/i][/size][/s][size=1], [size=4]but it affects him none-the-less. It isn't exactly pleasant for him - rather the opposite, it's almost like a constant torture [i][size=1][s]Pain, pain. Constant pain. Make it stop, make it[/s][/size][b][size=1][s] LEAVE!!! [/s][/size][/b][/i][/size][size=1][size=4] [/size][size=4] - but he does not resent it. Or rather, he does not have the capability to resent it.[/size][/size][/size][size=3][size=4] It has been all he's ever known[/size][/size] [i][s][size=1]my life. Yes, it is my life. MINE![/size][/s][/i] and he has found that he, in a sort of sadistic way, enjoys his lack of sanity. [i][s][size=1]They say I'm insane, you know. A little cuckoo in the head, a screw loose. HAHAHAHA! ME! INSANE!!!! I suppose I am. Ah well. it's FUUUN!!!!![/size][/s][/i] His insanity has been constant for him, caused by a large variety of presumably horrorendous visions caused by his Magic type, a stream of terrifying images and scenarios playing havoc inside his head. [i][s][size=1]It hurts. Yes, it hurts. Evil, evil hurt. Dark, cold, black, red, blood, fire, hell, demon, death, PAIN. IT HURTS! IT f***ing HUUUUURTS!!!!! [/size][/s][/i][size=1][size=4]This, over a long period of time, has ruined his mind, turning him into some kind of manic, sadistic Schizophrenic. [/size][/size] [size=1][size=4]Originally, while in [i]The Institute[/i], he only had two major personality splits, and could often be watched conversing with himself - though after being watched for a long time during this conversations, he would somehow noticed the viewer and scream at them, often in incoherent sentences. There was always an obvious rift between the two personalities, each having evolved seperately to cope with the same visions. [/size][/size] [size=1][size=4]~ The first one (Code-named Manic) was instantly the most dominant one. He was/is the most violent and aggressive personality [/size][/size]Nikko has, and was often the one that shouted, screaming at anyone who approached him, and often shouting or hurting himself, as a way to get at the other one. He would(And still does) attack anyone that got too close to him, and no matter how hard the guards tried, or how skilled they were, they could never fully chain him up without getting injured. He is the most sadistic of the (now three) personalities, and will often destroy the body of anyone who even gets in his way when possible, and will lash out no matter what anyone has done. He is the one that enjoys fighting the most, and is particularly good at torture. When visiting his dreams and the visions he would often react through screaming at walls and hitting himself against things, and when restrained he would push against the chains until his arms bled. ~ The second (Nick-named Panic) was a much less out-going or agressive personality, much more passive. As such, he is less likely to surface, though conversations/arguments between this personality and 'Manic' are extremely common. As the name suggests, this personality is very panic and rather 'soft', often resorting passive measures to escape conflict. He would submit to the guards quite easily, and all occupants of [i]The Institute[/i] were exceptionally relieved when 'Panic' surfaced. He would often cry and scream during the visions, and a common action would be to curl into a ball. He was most likely to appear during sleep. Despite being easily frightened and quite passive, he is still quite dangerous. He has no aversion to murder, and while he would be much less likely to accept a frontal challenge, he is also (out of 'Manic' and himself) more skilled at quietly assassinating people. ~ After the escape from [i]The Institute[/i] Nikko developed a third personality so as to be able to travel unacknowledged through society. Having not been at the institute when this personality materialized, it was given no name, though Nikko refers to it as Nikko, a sign that he considers it his true being, rather than the other two. This personality acheives a sort of half-ground between the others. While it is not so violent, sadistic or unpredictable as Manic, he is also less shy, passive or soft as Panic. This often makes it the settler of fights inside his own head, and the most useful of the personalities. He is usually a rather calm persona, a polite and sophisticated person with an eloquent tongue. His speech is radically different from the other two - Manic having much more Vulgar language, and Panic's speech generally consisting of 'Sorry' - maintaining a serious tone with little anger or self-conciousness; occasionally rather poetic in nature. This is also the only personality with normal hobbies. He enjoys reading long books and poetry, and sleeping under the stars. Resting and procrastination is quite common in this personality, and he does like to ignore work(luckily he rarely has any). Sadly, Manic is usually the most dominant personality, especially when they aren't in a heavily populated area, and will often knock the other two away and take over. [b]Background[/b]: WIP [b]Magical Ability Type[/b]: A strange form of Keiro which can seem over-powered, but he doesn't have any other useful abilities. [u]Phasing[/u]: Despite not have any other abilities, even those commonly found in the minority group of Keiro's that exist, Nikko does have this unique ability that has come in very useful for him. The ability of Phasing allows him to transport himself through any physical/solid object - asides from any gold - that he may come into contact with, allowing him to pass through walls or doors, making him an ideal candidate for a spy. He can phase through any physical object he is presented with, so long as he can see it and has acknowledged it, meaning he can phase through fast projectiles such as bullets, so long as he sees it as it is fired. He can phase his clothes, weapons and any items or people he is touching as well, though this is his choice. He does not require oxygen or breath while phasing, though may still do so through instinct. He can sustain a constant phase for 10 minutes at maximum. Keiro isn't totally devoid of the normal Keiro powers, but the few he does have he has no control over whatsoever, and they provide him few benifits, none actually related to the powers. The power to view the past results in common visions for him, often in his sleep, and they are always about mentally traumatic events. He also has some visions of utter nonsense that plague him, visions that wouldn't make sense to anyone, but reduce him to tears of pain and terror every time. While this are usually in his sleep, they can occur while he is fully concious, causing a small risk of him collapsing mid-battle in seizures. [b]Faction[/b]: Bringer of Night (Loose Relation. Not official/confirmed member) [b]Other[/b]: Nikko is a master weapons expert, able to weild anything from a large Naginata to a butter knife with equal expertise. He currently owns two curved daggers with the edges on the insides, used for slitting throats, and a single gun, a mix between a Desert Eagle and a semi-automatic Glock, that is permanently silenced. He has abnormal human senses, with almost three times the sensing capability of a normal human. As a result of the visions he has, he will mostly try to avoid sleep. As such, he has extreme insomnia and is susceptible to strong headaches/migraines at common intervals.[/spoiler] WIP. Read his personality. I'm gonna have [i]so [/i]much fun with this guy. He wears a black trench coat when he goes out. [spoiler=Isaac] YCM Username: Otaku-sama Character Name: Isaac Age: 12 Appearance: Isaac is small and sickly. He is much smaller than others his age and his skin is an unhealthy shade of greyish-pink. His face has a perpetual frightened expression and his brown eyes never stop leaking tears. However, once in a blue moon when he does smile, it brightens up the room. He doesn’t have much clothing, with only a ragged cloak and some dirty footwraps to his name. Personality: Isaac is a tortured soul. All he wanted as a peaceful existence, but all he got was a series of unfortunate events as a life. He is constantly wracked by hallucinations by day and nightmares at night. Due to this, Isaac has trouble distinguishing reality from his dreams. He lives in an almost perpetual state of fear and paranoia, which leads to his perpetual tears streaming down his face. However, during the rare moments where he isn’t in fear, he is still a child at heart and enjoys drawing and tries to make friends with almost anyone around him. However, even in these moments of calm, his drawings resemble the things he sees in his dreams and hallucinations, giving others some insight into his cursed psyche. [spoiler=Background] Isaac was the 6[sup]th[/sup] child of his mother and the first to survive birth. Isaac’s parents had suffered greatly from the death of 5 unborn children, four of which died in utero in the third trimester and one which had died during birth due to the umbilical cord being wrapped around the neck. Since Isaac was the first child to survive, his mother immediately equated his birth as a miracle brought by the goddess she prayed to throughout her pregnancy with Isaac and devoted herself to the goddess after Isaac was born. For the first five years, everything was good. Isaac frolicked in his mother’s manor on a hill with other children from the town while his mother prayed and gave tribute to the goddess who gave her a successful pregnancy. It was at age 5 when Isaac discovered his power of illusions. He initially used his power to make his make-believe adventures with his friends even more realistic. Isaac had many friends and he was happy. Unfortunately, this was not to last. During a prayer, Isaac’s mother was contacted by the goddess. The goddess decreed that Isaac had been corrupted by sin and compelled Isaac’s mother to save him from his sin. Immediately, Isaac’s mother removed Isaac from contact with the other children from the town, took away his toys and papers and even took away his clothing. For a time, this satisfied the goddess, but Isaac was left alone and naked, with only the friends he imagined accompanying him. The goddess again contacted Isaac’s mother, saying that he was still corrupted by sin and that his mother must do more to save Isaac from his sin. His mother locked Isaac away in his room with nothing but a rug to sleep on and scraps to eat in an effort to save Isaac from sin. Isaac’s imaginary friends slowly started to become more dark and malevolent, torturing Isaac for his lack of action against his mother and how corrupt and sinful he has become. Isaac did his best to fight his imagined friends, but their teasing never stopped. This is when the nightmares began for Isaac. On a dark and stormy night, the goddess contacted Isaac’s mother for the final time. “You have served me well, but to show me how devoted to me you are, I require a sacrifice” commanded the goddess, “I require the life of Isaac. Only then will I know that you are completely devoted to me, my child”. “I will do as you say my goddess” Isaac’s mother replied. Hearing this through a crack in the door, Isaac desperately looked for a place to hide. His mother’s steps grew louder and louder; Isaac panicked as he desperately looked for a place to hide. Just as his mother broke through the door, Isaac found a trapdoor to the cellar and immediately jumped inside. However, in an effort to escape his mother in the cellar, the only way to escape was to go through the catacombs of his family, where countless generations were laid to rest. As Isaac wandered the rooms of the catacombs, the souls of the dead there were disturbed and attacked the one who had disturbed them. Isaac was tormented by the souls of the angry dead, culminating in one of the dead coming back to life to chase Isaac through the catacombs. When Isaac finally escaped, he was no longer the child he once was. Wracked with the memories of the angry dead and his homicidal mother along with the constant torture of his imaginary friends, Isaac’s powers have run rampant. Everywhere he went, a cloud of dread followed him. Begging was the only way Isaac could survive, but when he wandered into town, the townspeople would quickly chase him out after discovering the terrible visions and nightmares he brought with him. Isaac had no home, with only his nightmares and hallucinations to accompany him. [/spoiler] Magical Ability Type: Keiro Isaac is able to project his constant feelings of dread and paranoia to everyone around him, giving them the same hallucinations as he has. These hallucinations tend to change for each person, but usually have a common theme of impossible undead creatures such as floating heads, walking corpses and giant spiders made out of human body parts. The closer one gets to Isaac when he is projecting his hallucinations, the more intense and disturbing they become to the point where they become realistic enough to start inflicting physical damage. Isaac can also change the intensity of his hallucinations at will. However, the more Isaac projects his hallucinations, the more intense the hallucinations will be, both for him and his victims in the future. Although Isaac has control over his powers when he is conscious, his powers run rampant when he is asleep, giving nightmares to anyone who is sleeping. Faction: Neutral, seeks release from his powers (and his life) Other: All Isaac wants is to be free of his past and his powers. [/quote] Well he did say in his earlier posts that he was going on a trip on Friday, but never stated how long said trip was going to be. However, if he stopped giving a f*ck about this RP like his other RP (The Pokemon one), then I'll know which RPs to look out for. And to those who say "he stopped giving a f*ck", that isn't my problem. My problem is that my life is a bit....Tumultuous, to say the very least. I've been having trouble doing many things lately....So, I'm sorry for everything I've done by taking all of these unwanted disappearances to deal with my life. On another note...This RP will not keep going. I actually had a plan for this, and then some crazy stuff happened with my PC, so my entire file on this RP's storyline was lost, and I don't feel like jumping into it and trying to remember what I was trying to go for. Again, I'm sorry. The circumstances were beyond my control, but I still feel at fault for it. Perhaps I'll do this again in the future, if I can get it planned out again. Also, my life will (hopefully) get sorted out later on, so that would help this immensely.
