I still play gameboy advance dude.

Gameboy Color. Like a boss.

But yeah, games are never outdated, especially when you consider the fact that "retro games" exist. The PS2 will never go out of style; it was a redefining moment for the gaming industry as a whole, much like how Pong was a redefining moment.

PS3 and XBox360, though? I don't think so. If you get so easily bored with games, sell all the ones you have and get JRPGs. You'll get your money's worth out of those.

What I see here is pretty much justa bunch of opinionated rubble.

Haha! Single Player still has life in them!?

You must live under one big rock dude...

Best post in this thread. I should rep him for it. He's right. Totally right. Developers don't seem to give a sh*t about a good single player experience and quite frankly the general public seems fine with it.

lol, Look if you look at bf3 the single player campaign looks beautiful, but the multiplayer is a down grade

Da fuq? The campaign is so freaking dark most of the time. Hard to see anything beautiful.

Games are never outdated. Super Mario Bros. is better than most modern FPSs, for instance.

Mario sucks in my opinion and in my opinion my opinion is better than your opinion.

People have different tastes. Not everybody cares for JRPGs. In fact, most people don't. And not all JRPGs are good.

I fixed it.

Persona 1 sucked. Persona 2 was okay. Persona 3 and presumably 4 are amazing. The f*ck are you talking about?

That's not good advice because they'd probably get bored half way through.

No, it's not good advice because he wasn't really thinking of the person's interests. Just trying to get somebody to conform to his own even though they are possibly better.

Per-what?

I dunno, but JRPG's have kind of started to suck in recent years. They churn them out like crazy in Japan. There are a couple good ones though, like Xenoblade, which unfortunately I haven't been able to get yet. I guess I'll just take your word for it and assume Persona is good too.

We've only just moved up the XBox360 and that only because my sister wanted it and she barely plays it now. (She brought it anyway)

I'm still playing GameCube (Wii is too much hastle to set up when all I play is Pokemon XD or Colo), Gameboy DS/SP at the moment, I only use the SP since the GC needs it (looking to replace the DS with my sister's DSLite.). We did get the Wii soon after it came out, but we don't intend on getting the PS3.

Only thing I care to get upgrade is my laptop is a faster/more memories laptop and I barely use it for games anymore.

Play Persona 3(P3P is on the PSN store, if you can't find it anywhere). If you can be bothered, go get P3FES, It has a extra story in it. The Awnser, iirc and some more Personas and things.

Also like, FFX is one of the best in the series and it came out Dec 17, 2001. Then again, 4,6,9 and 10 are the only really good final fantasy games, imo.

I have 3 copies of that but my retarded Playstation keeps messing it up so it freezes on the pre-rendered cut-scenes. I've actually contemplated buying a PS3 just so I can finish the damn thing

The experience of Single Player games are dying, which makes me depressed enough to recount Squidward's Suicide on here, but I am not.

The fact is that people like to get Online Experiences with games, but it shouldn't be the most important focus of a game. The most important focus, imo, should be around a good chunk of Single Player and then Multiplayer with 1-Player functionality just to have fun with everything you have earned. It's honestly why I consider KI: U to be vastly superior to many other modern Shooters today.

7-8 year old hardware that was outdates when the consols were released? yea i'd say there outdated, even ancient compared to current computer hardware.

Unfortunately, Single-Player Electronic Diversions are slowly being permeated from the generation of Electronic Diversions simply on the basis of being a primitive experience. While the Elder Scrolls and Mass Effect diversions are, indeed, commendable for being exceptional single-player, most developers would rather cast their spotlight on how graphically accelerated they have advanced, showcasing realism rather than vibrancy. In addition, I feel that the current advantages these developers recieve have also decreased the amount of quality put into the conception of their creations (id est downloadable content allows developers to dispatch intersections in order to appease their consumers early and then finish the product via updates online). It is a reason why I prefer 6th generation console gaming rather than the 7th generation console gaming in general.

Yeah, thats because Elder Scrolls and Mass Effect has effort put into them, not the same copy paste formula.

What about Zelda, Alan Wake, Heavy Rain, Borderlands, Mario, Red Dead Redemption, Metro 2033, Fallout, God of War, etc.

No offense, but I don't really see what your point unless you only play games focused on multiplayer, such as, not to tire out an overused an example, Call of Duty. Or Battlefield. Or Halo. See what I mean? I don't expect to get the same single player experience playing MAG as I do Super Mario Galaxy.

Guest James Bond - 007

I have been a sony guy since my beginnings. I have had the PSX, PS2, PS3, and now PS3 slim!

I love Sony and I will always be loyal to them unless they go down the tubes but you get my point.

As a long time COD player (Except MW3) I find that although single player within FPS' has always been... Mehish, Multiplayer has been revolutionized by FPS' like Medal of Honor, Call of Juarez and Call of Duty.

However I notice that there are always games in FPS that disappoint me like the Battlefield series (Never liked it), the Arma series, or Turok 2008 which ruined the entire series imo.

But just for pure nostalgia I like to play BattleTanx Global Assault on my N64 emulator like a baws!

I find fighting games are still doing well like Street Fighter, Tekken, Dead or Alive, and SoulCalibur. I recently got this amazing game called Arcana Hearts 3 which made me get into the 2D fighting games.

Sure, but i have and still saying that maybe its the hardware getting outdated not the games

I still play gameboy advance dude.

And do you think its outdated or what, i am not saying the the 360 and ps3 suck but i would like developed to put the 360 and ps3 through their paces when the console is still new not 5 years later thats when the quality games come out, i know about all that engine staff but still.....
