Space Shooter game I'm currently working on

So I'm working on this little project and thought you guys might find it interesting. I'll try to keep this thread updated as I develop it.

I'm programming it in C# using XNA 4.0 and it currently has about 1300 lines of code. :D

As you can see, it's still in the early stages of development.

Discuss so I don't go insane. Feel free to suggest things although there's a 84.7% chance it will be too complicated for me to implement.

Good thinking. Although I don't really plan to widely release this, but rather am just practicing my programming skillz. But yeah even then, it needs something cool to make it less forgettable.

Sure. It does look really neat this early though. Very cool.

Should make it candy themed. Don't see many candy themed space shooters.

Captain Gumdrop has to defeat the invading Jellybean armies in order to protect his people, and so he uses his trusty Chocoshooter to venture forth and save Sugarcaneopia.

That's, actually not a bad idea. Not necessarily candy specifically, but making some obscure theme would be a lot easier to implement and a lot more attention-grabbing than trying to add some complex innovative gameplay element.

Unfortunately, copyright will make that difficult but SOON my friend. SOON.

I have actually given serious thought to, in the event that I get a team together and make it big, talking to Nintendo about making a game called Grooseland.

But until then, I suppose I could make a Groose fan-game. But it wouldn't be a space-shooter.

Well, the whole thing is pretty much a Star Fox rip-off anyway so...

And yeah, I'm still tweaking the specifics of the bullets.

My working title was actually Uniga. (Universe instead of Galaxy.)


I am still working on this in case anyone's interested, but haven't added anything worth making a video for. Currently working on kamikaze enemies but they're freezing the game.
