Galkin
Is a set, not a single. To save you the trouble of figuring out how they play: the "Great Coffin" cards are a series of EARTH Zombie-type monsters that focus on Normal Summoning and countering most of the tactics of today's meta. Keeper of the Great Coffin Level 4 Effect Zombie/EARTH ATK: 1500 DEF: 0 "When this card is Normal Summoned: add 1 "Great Coffin" card from your Graveyard to your Hand. You can Banish this card in your Graveyard; send 1 "Great Coffin" card from your Deck to the Graveyard." Undead Soldier of the Great Coffin Level 4 Effect Zombie/EARTH ATK: 1900 DEF: 0 "When this card is Normal Summoned: Banish 1 "Great Coffin" monster in your Deck. You can Banish this card in your Graveyard; add 1 Level 5 or higher "Great Coffin" monster from your Deck to your Hand." Knight of the Great Coffin Level 7 Effect Zombie/EARTH ATK: 2200 DEF: 0 "Downgrade this card's level (in your Hand) by 1 for each "Great Coffin" card in your Graveyard. When this card is Normal Summoned: send all Special Summoned monsters to the Graveyard. If there at least 3 "Great Coffin" monsters in your banished pile: the summon of this card cannot be negated and card effects cannot be activated in response to the summon of this card." Undead Dragon of the Great Coffin Level 9 Effect Zombie/EARTH ATK: 3000 DEF: 0 "This card cannot be Special Summoned from the Deck. Downgrade this card's level (in your Hand) by 1 for each "Great Coffin" card in your Graveyard. When this card is Normal Summoned: send 2 cards from your Deck to the Graveyard, then, if there are 4 or more banished "Great Coffin" monsters, add 2 banished "Great Coffin" monster to your Hand. If your opponent activates a monster card effect: you can banish 1 Zombie-type monster in your Graveyard; negate the effect and banish that monster. If that Monster effect activated in the Field, return it to the Field during the end phase of your next turn. If the Monster effect activated in the Hand or Graveyard, return it to the Graveyard during the end phase of your next turn." Reincarnation of the Great Coffin Level 12 Effect Zombie/EARTH ATK: 3600 DEF: 0 "This card cannot be Tribute Summoned or Special Summoned. Downgrade this card's level (in your Hand) by 1 for each "Great Coffin" card in your Graveyard. When this card is Normal Summoned: Negate the activation and effect of all cards (Except for "Great Coffin" cards), until the end phase. During your Main Phase, if there are 5 or more banished "Great Coffin" monsters: target 3 of them, return 2 to the Graveyard and 1 to the Deck." The Great Coffin Level 12 Effect Zombie/EARTH ATK: 0 DEF: 0 "During your main phase, you can discard this card from your Hand. When this card is sent to the Graveyard: all Zombie-type monsters you control gain 800 ATK, until the end phase of your opponent's next turn. This card counts as 2 "Great Coffin" cards while in your Graveyard. Once per turn, if this card is banished: add it to your Hand." Link to comment
Love of Ghibli
If the downgrades occur in hand then Knight is definitely broken and Reincarnation is slightly overpowered. If not then they tip the line of brokenness. I mean Knight is pretty much super monarch on steroids. I will say that I commend you on making an anti-meta set. I haven't seen one sense Koaki Meru and D.D. Link to comment
Galkin
Downgrades occur in the Hand...or were designed to. I'll have to agree that Knight is overpowered due to being very easily summoned and being impossible to stop if you have 3 banished "Great Coffin" monsters. So what about if it's level 7? Also, Reincarnation is boss monster, it is meant to be strong. Link to comment
newhat
Did you intend Dragon of the Great Coffin to be used with Pyramid Turtle? If so, shame on you. It is very mean, though as written it can't be used in the Damage Step. If you negate a Veiler, is it banished from the Graveyard and returned there on your next End Phase? Knight at Level 7 is fine. Does Reincarnation's last effect trigger on Summon, or is it a "You can" Ignition Effect? Either way, it'll take a long time before you can Summon it, so it's fine. The Great Coffin itself, if Macro Cosmos or Dimensional Fissure is out, forms an infinite loop with Snipe Hunter, and with Soul Release. The solution to this is to add the Giga-Mantis caveat: "This effect of 'The Great Coffin' can only be activated once per turn." It can also be searched instantly with Gold Sarcophagus, but that's no big deal. If you do not specify that the Levels are downgraded in the hand, a OTK engine can be made with Undead Dragon and simple Zombie revival cards. You could dump Mezuki and Plaguespreader. Perhaps you should specify that you can only dump "Great Coffin" monsters. Link to comment
Galkin
Okay, all of that is noted. No, Dragon was not meant to work with Turtle. Most of the current Zombie cards slipped my mind. The way it is, yes. Veiler would discard as a cost and then be banished so it would return to the Graveyard. However, it could cause some problem so I'll reword the effect so it doesn't bring in confusion with certain monster cards. Reincarnation's effect is an ignition effect. Thank you for pointing out that infinite loop. I'll specify it only works in the Hand. However, I wanted Undead Dragon to support some other cards. I'll be making some changes. Link to comment
