Yes. Half of it was the guy saying. "PLAYSTATION IS THE BEST. KISS MY A** MICROSOFT."
To be fair, I personally think the 360 is trash at this point, so I don't mind them taking jabs at Microsoft.
And? They have some of the most iconic characters today.

Plus Microsoft was no better and they're supposedly on the same level.
Some, maybe. But Nintedo still has THE most iconic characters with Mario, Link, and Pikachu. I think most people will at least know 2 of those 3. Plus they have tons of others like Samus, Kirby, Fox, and DK that even casual gamers will likely to know something about. So over all both in quality and quantity I'd put Nintedo in front. But again, they do have a decent amount of name characters now. Just my view on this at least.

I only know of four iconic Sony characters.

Jak, Daxter, Ratchet, and Clank.

I have a history of hating Sony. From experience, every Sony customer that I've met is an elitist and claims their system is far superior to any of mine. Whatever, I'll take my Halo and ignore you.

Totally looking forwards to Crysis.
I find the characters you brought up funny since they literally are paired. Also, those are older characters and haven't really had any big games in a while. Also, no Sly.

To be fair, the PS2 and 3 are the best systems of their generation (and this is coming from a Nintendo fanboy). They have the exculsive and multiplatform games that neither the 360 or Wii have. No reason for them to be asses about it, but even I say that Sony has put out the best system come generation end.
Nathan Drake, Kratos, and Sackboy are all well known.

And the only reason any Sony customer would try to be an elitist would be because of how sick they are of Xbox customers being exceedingly snide about frankly everything. Take, for example, half the people that play CoD or Halo online. The "pros" use Xbox and will laugh at people that play multiplatforms on PS3. :\
ATM I'd say they are Sony's big 3 characters.

And I do agree with that as well. As said I think the 360 is just a horrible system now with the PS3 being infinitely better but 360 users ALWAYS say "O, the 360 has a more competitive online". No, stop saying that. Your system is worse then the PS3 and none of the things you tell yourself will change that.

ANYWAY, with that out of the way, I haven't see any of the E3 stuff. Yea, it makes me sad. Worse week to start summer classes and have other things going on. And, sure it doesn't seem like I missed anything that special (that also makes me sad, I wanted to see some sweet things from everyone) but I like watching these. Also, everything I've heard about the Microsoft conference says it was just bad, but in talking to my friend keeps trying to defend it. I loled.

Don't use G4, the only reason to watch that channel left with Sessler.

Go to Gametrailers.

Or get the entire recap from Gameinformer right here: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2012/06/04/e3-2012-day-one-recap.aspx

If you go to the G4 website you can watch the conferences.
Yea, I know. Thats what I was planning. Just with me watching Nintendo's at Nintendo World and likely being with friends for a little after I won't get home till late tomorrow and that makes catching up even harder.

O well, I get to see them at some point. They should be up for a few days.

I just shrug at Microsoft while I consider my fandom of Sony as more of a guilty pleasure, with me being a fan of several of their franchises, but still hating the company itself.

I have not touched LittleBigPlanet in almost a year, which I don't feel too bad about since I got that as a part of the Welcome Back program, although it does make me consider if I should have gotten any of the other games. I was very happy to get inFamous, especially since I was already planning on getting that. I'm glad that they mentioned him as one of their iconic characters in the beginning of the conference, although they don't deserve to mention Solid Snake because they don't own they character.

I don't think I have ever seen anyone praise Kratos as a character for reasons other than being a badass, with the only other opinion being that he is a bland character whose defining character trait is that he's always angry.

I'm not going to debate Nathan Drake's status as one of Sony's current icons, and I think that Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch have done a great job of creating popular characters for Sony, since they also made Jak and Sly. Ratchet and Clank are my favorite Sony mascots, although I think that a true icon for Sony is someone who has stood the test of time, something that Nintendo has done very well.

I expect to see Kirby's anniversary being one of the biggest focuses of Nintendo's conference, and since BitF has helped make me appreciate the character more, I'm fine with that.

I was shocked when Sony announced the PSone classics for the Vita. You mean those weren't available at launch? At least with Nintendo's eShop, that was a brand new thing, but Sony couldn't even bring over the entire PSN library to the Vita on Day 1? Fail.

Personally, unless the character is exclusive to your system you shouldn't even mention them. Yea, Snake is most often on the Sony systems but he has shown up on many other consoles going all the way back to the NES and as recent as the 360 and 3DS. So, um, yea, stop taking credit when it isn't due.

While he may be a one note character the insane level of popularity I feel is enough to put him with Sony's other great characters. Personally I think name recognition is a big factor and Kratos has that in spades.

I honestly didn't know that it was his anniversary. With Return being so good, I wonder how they will follow it up. However, remember Mario's 25th was a REAL let down, so my hopes aren't THAT high atm.

Everyone knows that Sackboy is going to be Sony's best and longest lasting mascot.
Personally, I don't think Sackboy is the best as Sony's mascot, but I can't disagree that he will likely become their best and longest lasting.

I'm not an elitist :o I grew up with the Sony consoles and I still admit I perfer Nintendo. Also, amount of notable characters means little. I only really hate the X360, mainly because I had one and didn't like it much. If you like it then fine, but I like the Sony consoles. Only one I've sold was an old 1000 PSP, mainly because it drained batteries like a glutton. Looking forward to Nintendo, Sony was meh and Microsoft was horrible. tldr: advertise more FPS and other s*** I give no care about, go right ahead.

It's Laura's origin story. Of course she's a wimp before she's actually had to deal with anything. :\

Also @koko: Watch_Dogs. You misspelled it. But it does look good. Being able to hack s*** all over a city looks hilariously fun. And I didn't mention it because I ended up talking about it elsewhere and forgot to mention it here.

I was hoping for an SSB4 reveal (not a trailer, but just some more information such as if Sakurai found a new title for the game yet).

Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon looks amazing

Nintendo relied too heavily on 3rd Party companies explaining and they talked about Wii U Fit.

Conference may have been disappointing, but it really wasn't bad. It's sad that outside of the 1st party games, they were supporting too much of either Casual or Hardcore gamers. Not really much in between (arguably the better bunch of gamers).

None of you mentioned perhaps one of the greatest looking games at E3, Watch Dogs. Thoroughly disappointed.
You mean Grand Theft Eden of the East with lots of gratuitous swearing? Sure, it looked good, but Halo 4 and Beyond looked even better.

My one friend said that has been the coolest game shown at E3 so far. I still need to catch up on the other conferences, but the idea does sound sweet.

My one friend was saying this and it makes me facedesk. Kid Icarus finished like 4 months or so. The game is still in pre-production so they can't say ANYTHING about it. Really, just look at Brawl and the 3 or so years it took to get made.

It was when I saw the 3DS games that I thought, I think Nintendo won this.

See, I disagree. Nintendo's biggest problem has always been the 3rd party games. As said I think the PS3 is the best system this gen because you have great exclusives and 3rd party games. The other two only have 1, with the 360 having 3rd party (IMO that makes it the worse by a lot) and the Wii have the exclusives. So by showing that the 3rd parties are going to be putting stuff on their system it means that they have over come it and the Wii U can truely be a great system.

Having had some time for it to stew I do feel it was more of a let down then what I first thought. Still we got a bunch of games shown off and seeing sweet 3rd party games will be on the system gives me hope for it to be amazing. The 1st party games will always be there so I'm fine waiting for more news on them.
