I really wish there were an easier way to apply a selective gradient mask (not Map people different). That's also not smoke, it's desaturated fire to match the whole greyscale nature of it all with the sole exceptions being the bone colors. I wanted to use smoke originally but whatever I found a good stock to use, it was from something that I wanted to just get rid of from time, so I made it work with fire or well tried to.
