So yeah, I'm back with another exciting card contest to test your skittles. If you participated in one of my contest before, then you know that they're (so far) challenging and I judge harder than I would normally. That's because my contest are designed to help you grow as a card maker (or brag about how good of a card maker you already are ;) ). I like to believe I accomplish that at the end of the day :') ANYWAY let's get started.

1. Donate 30 points to enter.
2. No lateness of any kind will be tolerated. It results in automatic disqualification.
3. I will accept contestants until June 5th.
4. Cards will be due on June 19th (I know it's a long a time, but you will see why) unless I get all cards in early, in which case I will start the Judging Process Early.
5. Post any contest cards here in the forum, and they can be changed anytime as long as I haven't started Judging them.
6. Please: be friendly, have fun, and enjoy :)
7. First come, first serve peps. No reservations.

Time for the tough part and the reason why you guys get two weeks to make your cards instead of the standard 1 Week. Your task is to create 3 Monster Cards that, together, will cause a loop. However, the loop must involve the Main Deck, Extra Deck, and Graveyard in one way or another. Other than that, complete creativity is up to you.

Seeing as this is an unusual contest, I will judge you differently then I normally would. Different = More Areas to Judge you in. Also, seeing as there will be 3 monsters, and I will be judging the loop as a whole as well as how the cards will work together, Your total score will be out of 300 points. So yea, I doubt there will be any tiebreakers.

I enjoyed the last contest, so I'll join as well. That the 3 cards are Monster Cards will prove challenging, I'll go send the points now, and work on the cards later. I admit, this time I hardly even have a concept. Give it some time, though.

haha Glad to have some regular back :D

are my prizes really that uncommonly generous?

Don't worry about a concept yet Xi-3, that's the reason I gave you such a long time to work on them. Make sure you meet the requirements this time and, preferably, the first time around.

a high level member O.O looks like I may be able to get started a lot sooner than I originally expected :D anyhow if you sent in points, you are accepted.

to be honest I thought my prizes were the norm -_- I guess i better down them for the next contest :P

I may be high level but I'll take any chance I can get to improve on my card making. Actually, we were only joking, your prizes are too normal, maybe you should raise them up next time :3

Anyways, I'll get my cards in as soon as possible.

It better only go through once a turn, otherwise the duel would never end.

is it a one time loop or like an infinite loop?
Appropriate questions, So I will address this to Everybody:

Do NOT make an infinite loop, because that would be illegal (there's actual a ruling on it).

In light of what I said above, and what Xi-3 stated, there is no "technical" definition for a Loop in this game. So, In my definitions and from what I have noticed, a "Loop" is when multiple cards have their effects activated in similar fashion that resolve multiple times in the same turn, and the process is repeated more than once.

For Example, the Quillbolt Loop:

1. Control a Tuner, and summon 3 Quillbolts using their effects form the graveyard.
2. Xyz into a Rank 2 and Detach for it's effect (Like Daigusto Phoenix)
3. Repeat

This is just a small example. My definition from above is not an official one but it's pretty general and it's what I'm looking for. Does this make sense?

Ah, I don't think I can go quite so far as to activating effects for the cards I was thinking of twice. I'm also having trouble thinking of ways to involve the Extra Deck in the loop, so I may have to withdraw this time. I guess part of the trouble is that I don't know how the Syncho Summon System or Xyz cards work.

That would be unfortunate. To be honest, there is a way to inlcude the Extra Deck without actually creating a Synchro/Xyz/Fusion monster but if you don't think you're up for it, oh well. I'll refund your points soon.

Remember guys . . . the cards aren't due until the 19th. There's no need to rush on them.

I doubt it's to send a card back to it, because that couldn't activate more than once in the same chain. From here I'm looking stuck, so if I don't come up with an idea in a week or so you can refund my points. Who knows? I might come up with something. But... the only loop that's occurring for me is that I'm stuck on how to create a loop: my idea was a series of effects that searched for and sent cards from one place to another -- but it only activates once per turn or so. That would not fulfill the contest's requirements, so it's no good.

Well depending on how you word the cards, and how the actual effect's happen, you CAN create a loop using Once Per Turn effects. Actually, there are various loops that can be done at least twice in one turn involving cards that have the phrase "once per turn". I will refund your points one week after the contest actually starts if you still can;t think of anything.

anyhow I STILL NEED MORE CONTESTANTS! SO SIGN UP PEOPLE

Usually I'm much more active but ehh priorities. If you sent points you are accepted.

on a side note: Darkplant joined o.O

Anyway I will be active randomly so I must start this early in the day:

This will end on the 19th so put a lot of effort into your cards. You have a lot of time to work on them, possibly even more so then necessary.

If I get all cards from all contestants before the 19th, I will start Judging early.

Post cards on this forum, and they can be edited ANYTIME before the contest ends OR before I start judging them.

PLEASE post lore with the card. It will be easier for me to find OCG and that's what i typically go by. My vision is pretty bad, so reading card text is difficult.

Time Zones will not be a factor in turning cards in on time.

Lateness of any kind will result in immediate disqualification.

No flamming of other members (or their cards) will be tolerated either. From what i gather, the skill level among contestants vary.

As always: have fun and enjoy. Good Luck to you all :)

Kay, my question.

Let's say, is this loop that uses Dragonfly, Ladybug, and Daigusto Emeral allowed to be submitted in here (if they were cards created by me)?

1. Summon Inzektor Dragonfly
2. Equip Inzektor Ladybug
3. Destroy something or increase Level, SS Centipede
4. Centipede eff, equip Ladybug
5. Hornet/Ladybug eff, increase Level, Centipede eff, search Dragonfly
6. Xyz for anything from Rank 3 to 5
7. Next turn, go back to 1
8. Before Dragonflys run out of your deck, Xyz into Daigusto Emeral using Ladybug, recycle the Dragonflys and trollface

It certainly is a loop, and it involves cards in the main, Graveyard, and Extra. In this case, it's using real-life cards, but let's say they weren't and I made them on here, and tried to send them in. But it can be done as many times as you can. Would that be allowed? Meaning, can the loop be infinite in a way?

My opinion: It's not an 'infinite loop,' though, because if it was infinite it would not end, and neither would the turn or the duel. Even in Yu-Gi-Oh!: Duel Monsters YamiYugi demonstrated the limits of a loop himself, in the duel where he gained Slifer: someone's going to run out of cards. So infinite loops are impossible. You can, however, make them last a long time provided you have the right cards for the right effects, and nothing interrupts the process.

I may have the germ on an idea for this. Lets see if I can actually make it bear fruit.

EDIT: I've a question - do you expect 1 of the 3 cards to be a Fusion or Synchro Monster? Because I've got a possibility that doesn't include either. I'm just not certain how far their effects can take them and whether or not it'd be considered a loop.

You came up with looping cards in 10 minutes? Colour me impressed!
They're probably fine as long as they can create a loop. Of course, guuu1234 might be able to furnish us with a better idea of what he expects... or he might leave it to us and our 'creativity.' I was never all that confident, but hey it's a contest for fun and for the purpose of learning more. He's letting us change the cards as much as we want to until the due date, so tweak away.

Unlimited Controlled Loop Go!

1 LIGHT Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner DARK monsters
When a card or effect is activated: You can banish this face-up card until the next End Phase. If this card is banished: You can look at your opponent's Extra Deck and banish 1 card from it.

You can banish 1 monster from your Extra Deck to target 1 monster in your Graveyard with the same Level and Attribute as that monster; place it on top of your Deck.

If there are exactly 3 banished LIGHT monsters, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). You can Tribute 1 monster to target 2 banished Synchro, Fusion, or Xyz Monsters; return them to the Extra Deck and both players draw 1 card.

INITIAL CONDITION REQUIRED:
Opponent is using an Extra Deck containing at least 1 non-LIGHT monster
INITIAL CONDITIONS: You control or Normal Summon Pelagic Rescue. There is one Pegasolaris in the Graveyard and one in your hand. There are 2 banished LIGHT monsters.

Step 1: Pelagic Rescue banishes Wayward Wyverus, and this puts Pegasolaris on top of the Deck.
Step 2: Wyverus banishes an opponent's monster from the Extra Deck.
Step 3: Since there are 3 banished LIGHT monsters, you Special Summon the second Pegasolaris.
Step 4: You Tribute Pegasolaris to return your banished Wayward Wyverus to your Extra Deck and whatever monster it banished to your opponent's Extra Deck. Both players draw 1 card.
Step 5: The card you drew was the first Pegasolaris from earlier. Pelagic Rescue banishes Wayward Wyverus again, placing the second Pegasolaris on top of your Deck and banishing one of the opponent's Extra Monsters.
Step 6: Since there are 3 banished LIGHT monsters again, you repeat Step 3. Each time you repeat the cycle, you will draw and return the same card to your Deck, but your opponent will simply be drawing one card after another. Provided your opponent does not stop your combo with Effect Veiler (which is probable if they're running it), your opponent Decks Out.
And that's the loop, using 3 monsters that could be used for other purposes entirely.

A Deck-Out Loop? Did I, perhaps, inspire this with my earlier reference to YamiYugi's duel for Slifer? It is a a loop, I guess, yet if your opponent has something that can negate even 1 monster's effect... poof! I guess the best you can hope for is that the loop is stopped on Wyvernus or Rescue. The worst would be on Pegasolaris, because it's not particularly powerful and its effect is not suited to battle. But what in a loop is?

I asked myself "What's the least frustrating thing that forms a winning loop?" and the answer was "Drawing my whole Deck". So I decided to go with that. Since Pegasolaris Special Summons itself, you can just use it for an Xyz Summon if you want.

Mystic Tomato, UFO Turtle and the like are designed for battle, and they're used in the Bistro Butcher loop. I see whatcha mean.
