This is an RP arc that takes place in the 27[size=2]th[/size] Century. For those who don't know, Zouhan is the Japanese word for Rebellion. Below I hope you will find all the necessities to become a character in this RP. First I will give you the main plot. I hope it is well written and you can understand it. The net few things will be the character application, rules and junk like that.[/left] [left][u][b]________________________________________________________________________________________________________[/b][/u][/left] [left][u][b]Plot:[/b][/u][/left] [left]Tokyo was a peaceful place with many villages living under the rule of the Government and Emperor Shouhei Koroda. The people were friendlier, there was no crime, and the grass was literally greener. The year was 2599 when Emperor Shouhei came down with a cold. Everyone thought it was okay since it was the winter time and things like this were common. It was the morning of December 27[size=2]th[/size] when two of the Emperor's servants came in for their morning routine which was to help the Lord into his bath and help dress him before breakfast with his two sons Kouhei Koroda and Haro Kuroda. Kouhei was the first son of the Emperor. Haro was actually an orphan adopted by Shouhei. The Emperor's Guards found Haro going through the palace's garbage and was reported to the Emperor Who later appealed to Haro's wrong and made him part of his family. His late wife was also pleased. Kouhei wasn't. When the servants entered the room they waited for his Lordship to awaken at the usual 8:00[size=2]AM[/size]. It was already 8:30[size=2]AM[/size][size=3].[/size]when they decided to wake him so he wouldn't be late for breakfast. They called out to him, but he didn't answer. The taller servant suggested to go over and shake him. He noticed his Lordship was breathing heavily and fast. His skin was as white as the moon. While startled and shook, by the thought of what might be, the servants went to each son of the Emperor and told them about the situation. All four of them came running to the Emperor's aid. By the time they arrived. He was already dead. Soon after the press was notified and the news was announced to the public. A few days later his first son Kouhei was appointed as his father's successor as the new Emperor. After this happened, Tokyo had begun to fall apart. He abused his power every way he could. He killed off anyone he thought looked suspicious. He despised everyone in small villages. I looked down on them as scum and dirty beggars. Haro had come to step in and confront his brother about his doings. For years Kouhei has despised Haro because he was one of them. One of the dirty pigs that lived in the villages. He eventually killed his adoptive brother and ruled his kingdom with an iron fist. The people were hungry because they couldn't afford food after the taxes were paid and the days actually seemed gray compared to how it looked when it was under Emperor Shouhei's rule. Soon after he got the Government and their officers to do his dirty work. He raised the taxes on the villagers and killed off any who came up a penny short. After the new year had begun (year 2600) a rebellion formed against him. He just thought it was nonsense. He had the Government in his control and his followers that live among the villagers. There was no way he could be touched.[/left] [left]The rebels were not to be underestimated. They were grouped together by an unknown source. Only a few actually have seen him. But they were quick to follow under his lead. These rebels were great fighters and used various types of Maryoku. Maryoku is a fighting style that anyone can use. Maryoku are magic spells created by the casters. These rebels train and fight to help overthrow the Government and bring down Kouhei so their leader can rule and bring back the hostility they had when Shouhei was in command.[/left] [left][Spoiler=Maryoku Help][/left] [left]Maryoku = Magic Spell[/left] [left]Maryoku can only be preformed when the caster has complete control over their chi. There are a few risks to using Maryoku. The caster must have enough chi at all times. Maryoku uses their chi to make the attack become a reality. Most people can only use 1 type of Maryoku. But in some situations you could probably use more than one kind of chi. Probably because of their genes or some activity no other person does. To activate the Maryoku, the caster must focus on what sort of spell he/she is about to use, how much and where to focus this chi and must focus what form its going to take (how it will look. ex. Big fireball, a barrier, an earthquake, etc.). After that portion is complete, the caster must clap his/her hands together. The Maryoku thus be cast. If one was to try and use a Maryoku without the proper amount of chi, the caster will pass out or even die; depending on how much chi would be used up. The chi could also be poured into objects or other people if they needed to do so.[/left] [left][font=tahoma, helvetica, arial, sans-serif][size=3][background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]If your chi is blocked, you can't use any Maryoku or focus it into anything. If you try to use a Maryoku your chi is blocked, you'll just exhaust your stamina. Try it with no stamina and you'll pass out. A first and a last name is highly recommended, but if you cannot come up with a last name, that is fine as well. If your character has any nicknames, be sure to put them in quotes between the first and surnames. Age: Any age is good, just be sure to be reasonable so it fits their Maryoku doesn't make them an Op'ed brat. Appearance: Be sure to add everything to help us get a great look at your character. If you have a picture, that would be perfect. You don't have to but I recommend you do it this way. Her father Kou Hamada was the Feudal Lord of the Tochigi village. The village is in the middle of the forest and tucked tightly between hundreds of trees. Aoi was an ordinary girl; just like anyone from the village. She loved dolls and always begged for attention from her parents. One day when she was eight years old, something terrible happened. Her father had left the village to have a meeting with another Feudal Lord from another village. The first night he was gone a thief managed to get past all of the guards and entered their home. The thief must have dropped something because it woke Aoi out of her sleep. She went into the main hall to see what it was that had awaken her. Aoi saw the thief putting some of her father's valuables in a sack. Surprised she went to approach the thief. But before the thief could notice her, a hand grabbed her and pulled her into a hall. It was her mother. She looked frantically at the thief and told Aoi to find one of the guards. Aoi ran through a door on the side of their home and told the first guard she saw. He put two of his fingers into his mouth and whistled. He ran towards the house when three other guards joined up with him. Aoi was running along side, but the guard in front asked her to stay here so she wouldn't be harmed. All the guards ran into the house. After a few minutes, Aoi heard a lot of noises and thrashes coming from the house. After a few seconds, the chaos died down and Aoi decided to return to the main hall. Three of the guards were now picking up the dead thief and leaving the room. Aoi was looking around for her mother but she was no where to be found. Aoi asked the one of the guards, but they didn't know either. He told Aoi that he sent out a search party to look for her. A few minutes later he ordered another guard to send a message to Aoi's father. It was the next day when Kou returned to hear the depressing news. He asked the chief was their any sign of her. He told him no, but they are trying their hardest to find her. First a few days went past and there was no sign of her. Then a few weeks passed and there was still no luck. He ran to the chief again and asked for a report. He told Kou that a month had already passed and he had to call his officers back. They had a family to get to as well. He told him to face the fact that she is gone. Kou said he understood and left back to his home. When he got in he told his daughter the news and fell onto the floor and sobbed uncontrollably. He was soon joined by his daughter. As they both cried all of the guards mourned their loss. Seven years went past and everyone finally accepted the loss of Lady Kimiko. On Aoi's fifteenth birthday after helping some of the families pay their taxes, one a of the Emperor's Councilman paid their home a visit. He told them to stop helping pay for the villagers taxes or they would be killed in the name of Emperor Kouhei Koroda. Upset, Kou had no choice but to follow the Emperor's commands. That's when Aoi stood up and said that she loved helping the villagers pay the ridiculous taxes made by the ridiculous Emperor. The Councilman told Kou to control his daughter and left. After he left Aoi had an argument with her father telling him that she wouldn't stop helping the needy even if it meant that she would die. He told her to stop acting like that. She was all he had after Aoi's mother and his wife went missing. Aoi felt deep remorse and stopped talking. Tax day came again and she knew she couldn't do anything to help. She went down to the village to see how things were after the Councilman collected the taxes and left. She went to visit the orphanage where she helped out a lot. There were people standing outside of the orphanage. She asked around what was going on. They told her that the person that ran the Orphanage couldn't pay their taxes and was killed right along with all the orphans. Surprised and teary-eyed, she ran in to find tons of corpses on the floor and up the stairs covered in blood. She started to cry and blame herself for what happened. She asked the people outside could they all help her give the children a proper funeral and burial. They all agreed and helped bury the corpses in the trees behind the Orphanage. After they were finished, everyone went their separate ways. When she arrived home, the Councilman was there waiting for her. He said her father was still helping the villagers pay their taxes. As much as he denied it, the Councilman felt no remorse and had his officer kill him on the spot. He turned to Aoi and said for him to kill her as well. While scared, she clapped her hands together and pleaded for her life. The officers still attacked she held out her hands to protect herself and two creatures appeared out of nowhere. They killed the officers and the Councilman. When they were finished they began to circle around Aoi's body. Aoi fled her home and out of the village but the things were still circling her. When she was far from the village. The white creature to her not to be afraid. They were her protectors. They introduced themselves to her. The white creature was named Inyou and the black creature was named Myou. They told her that they were also demons made from a Maryoku she cast when the guards were attacking her. After that they told her that she had to learn to fight and they would teach her about Maryoku. When she calls for another Maryoku, they circulate her hands rapidly and releases the spell she is about to perform. He had learned respect, calamity, and even how to control his chi. He had done everything he could do to help his village. Had had been so happy during the rule of [left]Shouhei Koroda. He had a good education, and friends. That all changed when the emperor died. One night, he was sleeping, when during his dream, he was told to wake up, and go out side. As he did what he was instructed, a group of bandits were slaughtering people from the village. He had gone out, a sword had cut his best friend, Ryuko. Ryuko's blood splatterd on Hikarus face. Infuriated, he released all restraints, and had Began to do a sieries of complex hits. These hits were disabling movements, and even Maryaku casters were unable to cast their own maryaku. But, there were to many bandits. He had began toi lose the fight. But, an officer had came out of the blue and had killed the remaining bandits. Hikaru was terrified. He was scared tyhat the officer was going to take his life. But, the officer had told Hikaru that a group of bandits had came from a nearby village to kill the people of his own village. The officer asked Hikaru to join the emperor with him, so that they can put an end to all the crimes being commited. Hikaru, remembering that the emporor hated the village, was about to decline. The officer smiled, and a flash had happened. The Officer told Hikaru that his parents were killed by the bandits, and the emperor would stop crimes like these from happning. He hates those who take advantage of the weak. Which is why he quit serving Kouhei. He tries to help those who need, which is also why he has been helping the villages. Even though he is nice he is willing to kill those he opposes. Which is usually those who take advantage of the weak. Even though he cares about people he also cares a lot about animals. He has even been seen stopping in the middle of battle to get both innocent bistanders and animals out of harms way.[/size][/font][/color] [b]Bio:[/b][color=#5A5A5A][font=tahoma, helvetica, arial, sans-serif][size=3] At first he was actually a butler for Kouhei. For a while he enjoyed his life, especially since he didn't need to worry about being killed. Since there was other butlers he didn't have to do much work either. His pay was also reasonable for being a butler. After seeign what Kouhei was doing to the villagers he decided to quit working for him. Although he liked the clothes of a butler, so he still dresses like that. He instead went to a nearby village that was barely making any money. It was in danger of being destroyed. He is a skilled fighter with Kataras; evevn though they are not native to japan. So when the village was attacked he fought along side the villagers to defend the village. Their defense was succesful, do to his fighting abilities and his wits. Since he was a butler for Kouhei, he would spend his free time reading some of his books. Most of which were about war tactics. As soon as they were ablt to hold back the raid he decided to train the village in the art of war; in both physical combat and mental combat. As soon as he was done there he told the villagers it woul be safer if they would evacuate, since he knew they would get attacked by a stronger force the next time. So the villagers scattered, some of them did what Nori did. They went to villages which were in danger and though them the art of war. So in a way Nori helped strenghten the rebel force. After the villagers scattered he also went to other villages to help them prepare to fight back. So whether he knew it or not he has been playing a big part in the rebellion.[/size][/font][/color] [b]Maryoku:[/b][color=#5A5A5A][font=tahoma, helvetica, arial, sans-serif][size=3] His maryoku forms chi armor and weapons. They are not any random armor or weapons though, they are based on animals. In a way he uses the spirits of animals. The armor and weapons that are made though are see through and vary color depending on the armor/weapon. An example of this would be the Crow Spirit. It would give him wings allowing him to fly and communicate with crows. The wings would appear on his back and feather like objects would form around his clothes forming the armor. His chi armor would be a black color in this case. His Kataras would also be affected. His chi would exttend the reach and make the kataras look like giant crow heads, the beaks being the blades. Although this allows him have a variety of weapons a his disposal it does take a lot out of him. It takes a while to even make the armor, so it is almost impossible to change it in the middle of battle. Second is that a lot of chi is needed. Do to the chi taking physical shape for large amounts of time he constantly needs to feed the armor more chi. Black hair sleeked back, he reveals a remarkably different face. Despite the attitude, he generally gives either an optimistic or pessimistic point of view based on the situation, and his solutions. And even though his input is considered (if at all), he doesn't feel like he's a part of the problem or solution. All the same, his life style is more cause by his internal harmonious state, a calm mind, etc. And throughout his years, he has gained wisdom, and used it to maintain a balance within.[/background][/size][/font][/color] [color=#5A5A5A][font=tahoma, helvetica, arial, sans-serif][size=3][background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]Bio: Since the dawning of the Uso family, they have been sided with the Emperor's from past to present, and future. On June 4th, 2663, Minoru Uso was born, and was destined as well to be sided with the Emperor. When he first became a councilman, he was sided with Emperor Shouhei until his untimely death. And still residing a the side of the Emperors, he now serves as a faithful councilman to Emperor Kouhei. However, he could not give a definite position on the crowning of a new king, and the events leading up to it; "The crowning of the Emperor is often filled with bloodshed. Other times, it is filled with a peaceful negotiations. It matters not to me, I'm not one to become the Emperor, I'm just a councilman for the Emperor, whomever it may be." Minoru's lifestyle wasn't always so indifferent, especially the crowning of the Emperors. It was many years earlier, when he was in his early teenage years, at the age of 14. He was a happy lad, kind, caring, sympathetic, to another people. It was however one day, when he saw the ancient family sword (see Weaponry). Noticing that no one was around, he quickly took it from it's resting place, and unsheathed it. He has even been seen stopping in the middle of battle to get both innocent bistanders and animals out of harms way. [b]Bio:[/b] At first he was actually a butler for Kouhei. For a while he enjoyed his life, especially since he didn't need to worry about being killed. Since there was other butlers he didn't have to do much work either. His pay was also reasonable for being a butler. After seeign what Kouhei was doing to the villagers he decided to quit working for him. Although he liked the clothes of a butler, so he still dresses like that. He instead went to a nearby village that was barely making any money. It was in danger of being destroyed. He is a skilled fighter with Kataras; evevn though they are not native to japan. So when the village was attacked he fought along side the villagers to defend the village. Their defense was succesful, do to his fighting abilities and his wits. Since he was a butler for Kouhei, he would spend his free time reading some of his books. Most of which were about war tactics. As soon as they were ablt to hold back the raid he decided to train the village in the art of war; in both physical combat and mental combat. As soon as he was done there he told the villagers it woul be safer if they would evacuate, since he knew they would get attacked by a stronger force the next time. So the villagers scattered, some of them did what Nori did. They went to villages which were in danger and though them the art of war. So in a way Nori helped strenghten the rebel force. After the villagers scattered he also went to other villages to help them prepare to fight back. So whether he knew it or not he has been playing a big part in the rebellion. [b]Maryoku:[/b] His maryoku forms chi armor and weapons. They are not any random armor or weapons though, they are based on animals. In a way he uses the spirits of animals. The armor and weapons that are made though are see through and vary color depending on the armor/weapon. An example of this would be the Crow Spirit. It would give him wings allowing him to fly and communicate with crows. The wings would appear on his back and feather like objects would form around his clothes forming the armor. His chi armor would be a black color in this case. His Kataras would also be affected. His chi would exttend the reach and make the kataras look like giant crow heads, the beaks being the blades. Although this allows him have a variety of weapons a his disposal it does take a lot out of him. It takes a while to even make the armor, so it is almost impossible to change it in the middle of battle. Second is that a lot of chi is needed. Do to the chi taking physical shape for large amounts of time he constantly needs to feed the armor more chi. Luckily for him he has an unaturally amount of chi, but even with that he can only keep his armor/weapons for about 2 hours a day. Meanwhile, Akira was born of a less noble man, and was considered of much lower rank. His father had been one of the servants in his mothers home, and a secret affair that had been hidden for years. However, after the pregnancy, the affair was discovered and the servant was executed, while the wife was left unharmed as she was carrying the son of the official at the same time. Akira was discriminated against since his birth by his family. His 'adoptive-father', the official, cared little for him and viewed him as a stain on his reputation, and his half brother Kazuki was favoured heavily over Akira through-out their childhood. Akira was forced by his 'Father' to join in with the servant work, and was to wait on Kazuki hand-and-foot. He was treated more like a slave than a part of the family, and missed out on many things, such as schooling and training, both of which Kazuki was given high-standards of. They were like opposites during their childhood. While they weren't the worst of enemies, and occasionally got on well, they acted like rivals. When their father was not there, they would compete in multiple challenges and battles, which Kazuki would usually win. However, it was rarely by a long-shot, and although they took no notice of it, Akira was much more naturally talented than Kazuki in a variety of things. They remained rival-like brothers until they entered their teenage years, where their emnity started to rise, and they became much more seperated. Their spars became much more violent, and on one occasion Akira was crippled for 2 months due to the ferocity of his brother's attacks. At the age of 16, their mother died. For a few short weeks, they were united in their sorrow, and fought less and less. They were much kinder, and Akira was treated more like a member of the family than usual, and even gained some training and schooling, from which he picked up a lot in the short amount of time. However, he soon discovered that his father had organised the murder of his mother, as revenge for her betrayal of him. In a fit of rage he attacked his father, and was beaten half to death by his brother for the treachary. In a moment of compassion, he was let live, but banished. He went into hiding, gaining food and supplies by stealing, and became rather effective at fighting, discovering and training his Maryoku during this period. After the ascension of Kouhei to the throne, Akira joined the Rebellion, becoming one of the first members. Due to his newly found but mastered skills among the shadows, he became one of the Rebellion's top assassins, his Maryoku abilities benefiting his chosen profession very well. He isn't very well known among the rebellion, but has made many friends inside it. While part of the Rebellion, his has recieved much training, and his natural talent has been brought out to reveal a quite effective, cunning and, most of all, impecably fast warrior. His rivalry with Kazuki is much more present now, as while he ascended among the Rebellion, Kazuki gained a favourable spot among the warriors of the new Emperor. Maryoku: Leon's Maryoku focusses itself in two seperate ways. The first is his most commonly used, as it requires little effort, energy or concentration. It increases his speed and reaction time 5 times over for a few seconds, allowing him to momentarily vanish with speed, attacking his opponents with expert precision and power, and allowing him to dodge and block most attacks. Although this technique requires little energy or concentration, using it 5 times in one day will render the user unable to move for a week. The second is a manipulation of light. This ability is not a very effective battle technique, for it causes no harm to the opponent, but can be used quite well as a supporting technique. He mainly uses it for two purposes. The first is to manipulate the light around his body so as to make himself invisible to not only the human eye, but to any radiation based detectors. However, sonar can still find him. The other is to blind his opponent. This is usually done by reflecting the light off of his blades and into the opponents eye, which not only blinds, but he can use it to affect their time perception, allowing a maximum of 1 minute to pass it what may seem like a second to the effected. This is most useful in a fight, where it allows him to seem to move much faster than realistic, and can allow him to infiltrate places quite effectively. It requires a source of natural light to perform. He carries himself with confidence and is never seen slouching. Simply the way he moves and acts makes him exude confidence to everyone around him. His movements are quick yet deliberate, rarely knocking anything over. The only features on his skin are some freckles on his face and neck. Head: The most noticeable thing about Jay’s head is his orange hair styled into a large pompadour that makes him look like he has a tornado coming from his head. His eyes are deep blue, but are often concealed behind his sunglasses. He is rarely seen without a grin on his face, a grin that is a mix of a pretention and confidence. His eyebrows are thick, but are not bushy, and serve to emphasize his emotions. Clothing: He is always wearing a pitch black suit with matching shirt, tie and dress shoes that have a slight heel. Despite the apparently cumbersome outfit, it is no normal suit and is specially made for agents. It is surprisingly breathable, has full range of motion and is partially bulletproof, especially against small arms fire, allowing Jay to show off his fully combat abilities while still looking fashionable. His most signature feature is his outfit are his black oval sunglasses with black frames. Gender: Male Personality: Jay is cocky and charming, always facing challenges with a confidenct smirk. This cockiness often draws the ire of his superiors, but also reaps great success through his ambition. Meeting new people and building networks is second nature to Jay, resulting in him having a large network of contacts in the US, Canada and Japan. Although sometimes he can come off as a little obnoxious, he is great fun to be around and raises the mood of everyone around him. Due to this, both sides of the family, both strict Irish Catholic families, had disowned his parents. Due to this, Jay grew up in relative poverty in Dublin for the first few years of his life before moving to Boston at age 6. To compensate for the lack of family, his parents constantly networked and held parties with friends, resulting in this attitude rubbing off on Jay. All through school, he got decent grades, doing exceptionally well in law and social justice, but was incredibly popular. Through his group of friends, he managed to join one of his friends and his friend's father on a business trip to Japan. It was there where Jay fell in love with Japanese culture. When he returned, he immersed himself in all things Japanese, picking up the language quickly. Wanting to stay in contact with Japan, Jay applied for a government job. Seeing that Jay did not have much family and had large networks all over the US, Jay was selected to be a recruit for the CIA.
