So, YCM, how safe is your neighborhood?

Because a recent thread left me thinking.

Well, much of the things written in this thread seemed unbelievable to me. Not to mention, I think Merciful Idiot or someone once made a status update saying one of his friends got raped. Maybe it was nearly got raped, but you get my point.

To me, these seem unbelievabe. No, I'm not saying they're lying. Especially in Merciful's case. No one'd make such a status update like that unless it really happened.

Now, I do understand that Japan where I live in is one of the most safe countries in the world. Especially in here, Yokohama. But still, I can't quite believe the rest of the world could be like this.

Tell me, YCM. Are your neighborhoods all like this?

I live 30 minutes away from Memphis, Tennessee.

The difference of what half an hour makes is astounding, because my neighborhood is pretty much no crime.
Well, other than these incredibly stupid little neighborhood kids who throw rocks into the apartment building's air vent just to see rocks get grinded into bits.

Sucks when you can't do s*** about it because the apartment complex's manager's son is one of them.

I'd actually say the entire town is pretty safe-ish (from my knowledge) as the drug traffic isn't that wide spread (only the very occasional drug junkies)
and very seldom, stab victims

My neighbourhood however is safe as the mentioned things only happen in the actuall "city", and my neigbourhood is on the outskirts of the entire town

I don't tend to notice anything, all we get is a bit of graffiti and someone keep wrapping the swing around the top bar. Mainly we just get fly tipping.

Saying that walking down the lane on to my road I don't feel safe at night on, because of one side having on a pond on it (which all the trees, weeds etc).

I live in the north part of Bridgeport, the blackest and whitess part of Bridgeport. I actually have a lot of good neighbors and there's actually a witch living behind my house. Her house is black, there's a pentacle in the front porch, and the house is actually beautiful and scary since she really decorates it. But still, it's pretty dangerous around here.

My mom's (or more accurately my uncles') neighborhood seems pretty safe. Don't see what could be wrong. Nice houses my uncles (have another living just down the street) had built since they work in construction.

My dad's on the other hand? Well we recently moved in so I can't really say that much. Dad seems awfully worried about theft though. It seems relatively nice but at the same time based on the amount of my brother's friends who live here it must not be that good.

I live in the whitest neighborhood ever. This may be the only place where a white gang may gangbang a black dude. I'm serious.
Wait... What? lol

OT: Hm... Philadelphia is no where near safe lol... the neighborhood I'm in isn't bad... but that doesn't count for the rest of the city lol

I live in a city in where nothing really happens, and I live in a street that are either full-fledged houses or triple-deckers. Needless to say, it's a very safe and nice neighborhood where everyone makes sure nothing bad happens.

Despite the city having nothing happening, there are always bored people who want to have stuff happen to make the city more "interesting" like the bad side of Providence. Those people can go die in a ditch.

I have no idea - nobody talks to their neighbours in the GTA.
Um... pretty sure that GTA's neighborhoods aren't safe. It's called Grand Theft Auto for a reason.

My neighborhood is actually extremely safe. We all look out for eachother. Here in North Dakota
It's funny cause it's true. It's also funny because there's no one to look after each other. But it's REALLY funny because he's saying people live in North Dakota.
It's safe as long as the sports teams aren't losing and you don't f*ck up while ordering a cheesesteak.

I live in a city in where nothing really happens

OT: Well my town has had only 2 armed robberies in recent memory and BOTH of them ended with the robbers (one who robbed GameStop for some reason), getting shot in the face by the cops. Safe, am I? The only thing I really worry about are coyotes.
