I consider myself pretty damn tolerant in all aspects. Although I draw a line at ignorance, if you are 17 and you aren't at least a little aware of current events I get a little annoyed.

I just have a small question for you. How tolerant of religion are you?

I'm tolerant of religion until I'm being preached at, which never happens to me. I don't mind if you're a catholic, atheist, jewish, whatever. As long as you don't tell me that I'm wrong. I'm a Christian but I don't mention my religion to other people and when people ask I don't talk about it more than I have to, and if someone is an atheist and tries to tell me that I'm wrong that's when my tolerance is up. The way I see it is let people have their own beliefs you know?

I think religion is bullsh*t yet I rarely decline any invitation to church and have no problem with praying in company of family or friends.
I'm very tolerant and everything because I've learned to stop things before they escalate into something troublesome.

I have very low tolerance. Especially when it comes to my beliefs. They are my own personal beliefs. Whether I'm a Christian or not shouldn't influence you and I tolerating each other. If that's an issue I'll take your f***ing head off.

You are free to believe and say whatever you want as long as it doesn't seek to cause violence or deliberately misinform. And I'm free to make a personal judgement of you based on your beliefs. We have to make judgements about everyone, even being indifferent about someone is a judgement. If someone tells me "DONT JUDGE ME IM A CHRISTIAN" or "IM A VEGAN DONT JUDGE ME" or even "I THINK THAT ABORTION IS A GOOD THING DONT JUDGE ME" then I make the judgement that they are probably quite insecure or they don't like to question things. If you don't want to be judged because of something you believe, then try and question it, no matter what it is.

If you mean tolerant in the sense of "putting up with it," yes. If you mean tolerant in the sense of being respectful, hahahaha no.

I'm wondering what you disrespect then.
Being tolerant means being respectful. Note you can still disagree with someone and be respectful at the same time. The difference is how much you insult them or berate them.
Now if they're the one's being disrespectful to begin with that's a different situation.

Tolerant does not mean being respectful in any way. I'm not going to insult them, but I'm not going to respect their beliefs or their reason for believing, at least internally.

I'm not going to rain on their parade, so to speak, but I'm not going to pretend that their beliefs are just as legitimate as those of others.

That's fine, but then you can't complain when they treat their beliefs as being completely superior to yours. It's the same sh**.

I wouldn't complain over such a thing knowing full-well I think the same way

As a matter of fact I'd revel in the opportunity for them to try to change my mind!
