Thar
my paychecks are larger now due to a recent raise and much more hours. Lucky. I never got a raise because I only met 4 out of 5 work requirements. My second appraisal will be held in about 2 months, though, so there's that. How is your Christmas season going so far? House is all decorated, tree is set up, watched some Christmas specials while drinking an egg nog martini... we're all set. As far as the site's down time, I've been watching both Log Horizon and Arpeggio of Blue Steel. I'm enjoying the latter a lot.
Jake the Sage
Jake your sig is too big. Choose one of those fucking annoying cats and get rid of the other or put them in a spoiler. I don't think it's that big . . . *ponders* I suppose I can remove it since I already have the Creepy Santa avi. As for the season it's been alright. Work's getting to be more of a pain but my paychecks are larger now due to a recent raise and much more hours. I just get a lot of hours, not so much a big pay raise. Also, that song sounded awful. Why would you subject me to that annoying rubbish? It's the song that plays when Tetsuo is hallucinating . . . which means I take it you haven't seen AKIRA yet. House is all decorated, tree is set up, watched some Christmas specials while drinking an egg nog martini... we're all set. I got the tree up and the house decorated, though not as much as we used too, and went out shopping for everyone. I nearly got everyone off of my list but the only problem is that everything I had saved up since August to spend for Christmas presents has already been used up. So I'm going to be using the rest of my pay checks to buy the remaining Christmas presents I need to get. As far as the site's down time, I've been watching both Log Horizon and Arpeggio of Blue Steel. I'm enjoying the latter a lot. The second one sounds familiar but I haven't heard of the other one. I'd like to say that I've spent my time working on the story but, alas, since it was Friday that the website went down I spent that day getting the aforementioned presents and then the entire weekend was spent working (>>) Though I did have some deer approach me while I was at work . . . Jake the Sage
So I have finally made all of my Christmas shopping done the day BEFORE I begin sending all of the gifts off to their respective recipients. Okay that isn't the truest sense considering I gave three of my friends their presents already and took my niece to Build-A-Bear to get herself a Twilight Sparkle plushie. And let me tell you, I have never spent that much money on a single gift this entire year much less something MY LITTLE PONY! Ugh the me from the beginning of the year would be shaking his head right now Though to be honest seeing that little five year jumping up and down when she read that Twilight Sparkle belonged to her was worth it. Not to mention I got "Rebirth of Mothra I & II" out of happenstance.
Super Chaos Sonic
Quite the assortment of gifts there, Jake! I got for my family, the following: -Mom: Seasons 1 & 2 of Once Upon a Time -Dad: Red Vs Blue Season 11 & Call of Duty Ghosts -Little Bro: Pokemon X
Jake the Sage
Quite the assortment of gifts there, Jake! Considered the best gifter in my family . . . -Dad: Red Vs Blue Season 11 & Call of Duty Ghosts Really? Your Dad watched "Red vs. Blue"? Hell! I'd give a left leg to have my Dad at least have watched a single episode of RVB.
Thar
I had Christmas early. I got a long-sleeve plaid shirt, an Appalacian State shirt from my sisters, some jeans, the Lone Ranger w/ Johnny Depp, and a green kayak. I have yet to see what I'm getting in my stocking besides an apple and an orange just like every year. As for what I gave everyone: Mom: a four-section egg poacher Dad: golf balls, tees, a golf glove, and some work socks Sisters: the first Hobbit movie/the Hunger games, chocolates, a giant candy cane, and an iPhone charger. Honestly Thar forgive me if I come off rude, but is it common to give those types of gifts in your household during Christmas? I mean your father's gifts sound like something he would actually want, though I'm assuming he plays golf a lot, and movies for your sisters is always a good gift . . . but an egg poacher for your Mom? Again I hope I don't sound rude but I find it odd those would be types of gifts people give during Christmas; however, if that was all you could afford I retract any and all statements about it being "odd". The main reason I'm having trouble understanding this is because it goes against my most fundamental rule of Christmas: You must never give a person a gift which they would normally be capable or willing to buy for themselves during any other time Shirts, movies, CDs, etc. however are acceptable gifts as long as said item is something they have previously voiced their desire for and/or naturally fit with said person's personality/likes. A good example would be that I can easily just go out and buy my Mom a Tweety Bird shirt because she likes Tweety Bird.
The Warden
Funny, your rule criss-crosses against my one: Tell me what you fecking want because I have no idea what you want. It's better to give something useful than to give something they desperately try not to screw their faces up at.
Desu the Blue Nerd
Steam sale probably saved my wallet a bit since I figured it'd be easier to just gift people games rather than get their addresses and buy stuff online from various websites them when I already have them on steam. So... Raine- I going to give him Shadowrun Returns and might give him The Stanley Parable (originally bought it for Kyng but he's pretty good at pushing my buttons or I'll keep it and play it whenever Kyng pops up online) and FTL (it was on sale and figured someone might like it but I remember I promised Composer a gift too so this will probably go to him). Blu- Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Jacob- Starbound (shit, it just came out so it isn't on sale). Kaka- I actually had to get his address so he knows what I got him but I got him a Thug Seme t-shirt. Grandma- Gift card to the store I work (super lazy shopping) for $27.34. Dad- I got him an Iron Man bike lock. I feel like I'm probably missing some internet friends in which case they should have added me on Steam or something a while ago. Thar
What Broken said, Jake. I got mom the egg poacher because that's what she told me to get. I don't really care about surprising anyone, just as long as they get what they want. Today and tomorrow I'll be visiting relatives from my dad's side of the family. Tomorrow we'll be doing our traditional White Elephant, which I'm always excited for. The weirder the White Elephant gift, the better; that's kinda the rule for my great uncle Jim. Jake the Sage
Funny, your rule criss-crosses against my one: Tell me what you fecking want because I have no idea what you want. Well of course if they can tell me what they want I'd prefer that over just randomly trying to find them a gift I think they'll like. I got mom the egg poacher because that's what she told me to get. I believe I said "if that was what she wanted" or something along those lines then to just ignore what I said. Either way, yeah if she wanted it then I understand completely. . . . . we'll be doing our traditional White Elephant, which I'm always excited for. Desu the Blue Nerd
A white elephant gift is basically a joke gift. I'm guessing they also make a sort of game out of it where they dump it all onto a table, take turns grabbing a present, and maybe "steal" each other's presents although the last bit is more of a serious thing. Merry Christmas to you as well, Lora. Sorry I didn't get you two anything.

Ah, we just call it a gag gift in our family- didn't know it was called something else. Thar let us know what the white elephant was! Merry Christmas to you as well, Lora. Sorry I didn't get you two anything. Merry Christmas to you too Desu. It's okay, I generally don't get anything besides getting to hang out with family. Thar
It's funny, actually... I didn't know what any of our gifts looked like, so I accidentally grabbed one that was supposed to be from us. I ended up bringing home the framed sketch of a high-heeled shoe that was hanging on our bathroom wall.

[tilts head] We kind of had the same problem, almost, when I went to my cousins. My oldest male cousin accidentally opened up the presents I had wrapped for his Dad because they both happen to have the same name; doesn't help that both can be either called 'Dad' or 'Uncle'. Thar
Well, you DID generate a bit of hype. Though you squeezed it out long enough to have people begin to lose interest. But depending on how much of the entire thing you have locked and loaded for uploading, the prolonged wait should be worth it.
Jake the Sage
Yeah that was my bad. I should never have said I was making this in the first place when I had only just barely begun to think of a plot. Never making THAT mistake again. As for what I got it should be enough to tide everyone over with the uploading dates I have in mind and will also allow me to write more chapters.
