why is Sandra and Woo not on that list?
Who and who?
It's not a web comic. It's a flash cartoon. Nathanael D. Striker
I'm going to make a side topic if that's alright. What kind of videogames are you guys into? Personally, I've had a urging to play FPS and racing games since those are the majority of my library. I've also played KH and KH2, but no other games within their genre as far as I'm aware of. Spirit of DMG
Me, I like racing games, James Bond, and Fable. Haven't played Fable III or Journey yet, though. Mainly cause I don't have a 360.
Okay I've read Cyanide and Happiness before but I don't normally look for the updates. Because of that I didn't like it in the web comics I read, though I have read it before.
If y'all are interested... If it's called "Fourth Wall Abuse" then the overall gag obviously has to be breaking the fourth wall. While this can and is funny at certain points if constantly done it gets annoying and even dumb. For instance if your characters know they are in a work of fiction and are in fact characters themselves it becomes dull if all they do is reference the reader or whatever, and not their surroundings or the situation they are in themselves. Normally I'd only have one character who can break the fourth wall, as it makes them look absolutely crazy to everyone else; yet at the same time you as the reader gets a good laugh when they do reference the audience and what not. A good example would actually be the following:
"I know who I am, Anne," Setsuna said, looking completely identical to Anne except for the fact she had dark skin and golden eyes. That, and her clothes. There's no point mentioning them, as it would put us dangerously close to purple prose territory. She gave Anne a look that stood between annoyed, amused, and lustful. "Honestly, did you inherit your mom's mental problems too?" Anne sniffed. "Vio, Setsuna's being mean!" "She is merely having her 'Character Establishing Scene'," Vio, the last girl, who contrary to the trend so far had dark hair, if slightly tinged with red at the edges, said, voice nearly monotonous, as she pointed to the script she was holding. "As, in fact, are we all. I have seen it is so beyond the walls of time and space." Setsuna shook her head. "This 'Seeing Beyond The Walls Of Time And Space' ability of yours is weird, Vop. What exactly does 'seeing beyond the wall beyond three none else see' really mean, anyway?" Vio just smiled and winked at the readers. Setsuna blinked, looking between Vio and where she'd been looking and finding nothing there. "Did you have something in your eye, Vio?" "Come," Vio said, changing the subject. "Let us continue. We must end this scene now so we can arrive at our destination off-screen." She began walking. The other two exchanged confused, suffering looks. "Vio, what the hell are you talking about!-?" Anne asked as the two of them walked to catch up to her. The scene ended, leaving Jake passed out on the ground, thinking of French Toast and Waffles…
EDIT: Expect those names to reappear, but not with the same personalities and/or abilities/relationships seen in this small exert
Thar
Well, okay, it's not really "breaking the fourth wall." More like breaking the connection between IRL and the Internet world while still intranced by the Internet. Took me a while to find a way to plot that idea, even though it hasn't really happened yet. Playing in a friends basement is definitely very satisfying). I just don't any FPS games like James Bond that have very good single player modes Now, has anyone here played Battlefront 2? Jake the Sage
Ah cool Remo I hope you enjoy yourself. Try to be epic and catch one out of the air with your bare hands while you're there (^^)b I might not be a heavy gamer so I guess that is the only reason I can enjoy so many games without being bored of them or really seeing the "bad qualities" that other major gamers complain about. I've played FPS, turn-based rpgs and so many others I don't know or remember. Yet there is always something to be said about the games you can find in an arcade and play with people watching.
