Why would people in the TCG Section roleplay?
Because TCG is has so much potential for exploding, it makes the Balkans look like a Barnes & Nobles on a slow Sunday evening

...

I've been here to witness most of these wars but I've never roleplayed beyond creating a character

The RP Section is too apathetic to maintain a war, as it demands people to remain for quite some time. And of course, the average YCM RPer's attention span is about 3 days.
that's about 5 days longer than I expected

But that doesn't change the fact that, in theory, YCMs usual RPer's wouldn't really be involved in the first place as this FOR ONE'S OWN NATIONAL HONRO

HONRO BEATS ATTENTION SPANS TEN TIMES OUTTA TEN

It's how Cherry pronounces "honor" (or honour depending on how poor you are)
"Honro" is a typo joke from DMG originating from someone who challenged another about honor and nonsense and someone made the typo. Then "Honro" became an in-game meme that is now widespread throughout.

...

Or it could've already been a meme and I've been clueless for years.

Oh, that's the actual story?

Never actually knew that xD

Sad but true. I've seen way too many good roleplays go downhill because the players end up getting bored for one reason or another and just leaving. It was always something that constantly annoyed me since I wanted to always end the roleplays

Most RPs are interesting, but the idea of actually doing them is not.
There's the bad RPs.
Then there's the RPs which are really good and extremely detailed, but terrifying in terms of length and expectations.
That last one Struggle of Powers should fall under (^^)

I know what you mean, Zeo. How some RPs survive long, I don't know.
I actually have the answer for that. What you do is accept a lot of people so that once the role play begins you can start weeding out the weaker ones. The longer the role play lasts and by accepting new people on occasion you can keep the truly interested role players in the game while giving fresh blood every so often so it remains interesting and lively. And if you do this properly you'll have an "inner core" of role players and an "outer core" of role players who will come and go.

Also, on a side note, apparently someone tried to steal a woman's purse at my store today- before I got to work. One of the old coworker's mother actually tackled the thief to the ground so a coworker on duty could grab one of the two purses from their shoulders. It must have been fun to watch . . .

Wow... that's... I don't even know how to describe that. But, hey, way to go, lady? And did they really think they'd get away with away with showing up with one pure and leaving with two? How stupid are these people?
One person actually DMG. And considering she has gotten away with it enough that she has been on the news, considering Jacksonville is #1 in crime that says something, you can't say she is stupid. Stupid coming to my store maybe . . .

I would honestly love to be involved with a long running RP, but they turn into disasters or one just never finishes with me.

And God knows I can't make a decent RP.
Cherry to be honest I've been wanting to reopen Struggle of Powers II once I have my other affairs in order. It might be a long role play like the original but I can assure you it will be enjoyable. Super powered beings! Government conspiracies! The fate of the world and the sanity of every decent human being balanced on your choices of right or wrong! DUN DUN DUN~!

[sigh]
Dad you get a little too carried away when you're talking about plots. It's all well and good to say it but after you finished the original what did you do? Nothing.....you sat around. Talk, talk talk........

*eye twitch*

Hey! I've been working my ass off on Trio of DEF II! Once this is finished I'm certain I'll be able to do Struggle of Powers II with no problem (>8 /)

I actually look forward to when I get to post in an RP I like again. My problem with the RP section is that people will join a good RP, and then everyone asks when it'll start. Then the host takes several days, sometimes a week, to start it, and by that point, everyone has lost interest. Then there will be a few people left to post, and it'll draw more interest again, but now everyone is busy with life, and the RP is thrown under the bus. Like they can't be bothered to check it at least once a day, and take three minutes to put in a decent post. =(
