Elton John

High in Your Song? Elton John only ever goes probably an octave above middle C, if even that.

I've always found the Ellie Goulding version of Your Song marginally better simply because it's so simply arranged (more so than the actual original). A piano, a minimalist string arrangement and heartfelt vocals.

Elton's was absolutely amazing and is probably still one of the best songs ever written. I just feel the style of the song really doesn't suit it as much as other versions do. Especially the acoustic guitar in the song. Scrap that, and all you have is a super simple, non-fiddly singer-songwriter's ultimate portfolio piece.

Still, he's an absolute legend for everything he does.

Well yes I feel like he should have gotten a higher note, and that other versions of this song are much better because some people can hit high notes so they could of course change some parts to high which could make the song better.
