This contest officaly has begun, and entry is closed. So In retrospect, that also means no more joking around. It's time to get serious:

Each of you will have until the 17th to turn in your cards. If all contestants get them in early, then I will start judging early.
Post your 2 (or 3) monsters here, and they can be changed before the contest is over, however BEFORE I judge them. (make sure the lore on the card matches the lore you post, because that is what I'm going by, and it costs someone a contest before)
Lateness of any kind will NOT be tolerated, and will result in immediate disqualifications.
In addition to the above, I realize that time zones could indeed become an issue. To some of you, it could possibly be the 9th still. However, that is no excuse, which is why i'm mentioning this now. All cards, regardless of time zone, will be due by May 17th EDT.
HINT: Try not to make 2 cards that virtually have the same effect, and make sure you tackle the weaknesses of your selected archetype
As always, have fun and let the best card maker win. I look forward to some tie-breakers and stellar results!

Xi-3
EDIT: Removed 'Mid-Boss' Fusion card. Added 'Full Moon' for the sake of information. Not to be included as consideration for the contest due to requirement that all cards submitted for the contest be Monster Cards. EDIT Repair: Replaced first-draft Evangeline with 1000-ATK version. The Cardmaker is glitching by cutting off the last digit (it's a zero). This is, in a way, worse than when the Generate button would not reactivate. EDIT R2: Replaced first-draft Eva-san with a Type-3 variant. The Cardmaker is still cutting things off, but it's easy to tell what it should be. This is the final change I am allowing myself to make. EDIT: 00: Well, this post is no longer relevant. I've finally made Monster Cards to support Type-3 Leveling Monsters (which was the original assignment anyway). They're on Page 3, after a long discussion where I just wasn't getting it.

Xi-3
She's still a 'Leveling Monster' because in most situations (and I say 'most' because Spell and Trap cards might help) her higher levels can only be summoned by her previous levels' effects -- unless you're counting the Fusion version, but then the 'tribute ungodly-high monsters' option reflects her personality perfectly, in my opinion. She's based equally on Silent Magician (leveling) and Skilled Dark Magician (stable ATK and DEF, plus access to a higher-level version). I did not use a Counter system because it is sufficiently maddening that she essentially has her full power all the time. She simply chooses never to really use it -- so the whole system behind Leveling her is Spell-driven. To be honest I do not care enough about the different types of leveling monster to change her. I could have also used a different character (I have plenty who fit the Type-3 archetype better), but none who really say 'Boss,' better than her. So I'll simply let it ride.
You see, a "LV" monster is monster that can summon a stronger version of itself, after a certain condition is met. There are 3 types of LV monsters that have there own means of identification, however they all have the same basic concept: they can summon a stronger version of itself, after a certain condition is met. Your monsters have no real "condition" that can merit them as being a "LV" monster. Of course you can say "Eva-Chan (LV 4) must tribute itself and "Full-Moon" to summon its stronger version from the hand, deck, or graveyard", but that isn't even remotely reminiscent of a "LV" monster, regardless of type, that has conditions for there stronger versions. All I gather from your post is that you're representing a misinterpreted view of "LV" monsters, and it seems to me that you believe that by slapping the phrase "LV" onto your cards name, and making a stronger version, then it's a "LV" monster. If you want to get techincal, you created a whole NEW type of "LV" monster, a type 4 that can Summon any version of it self, anyway, and still retain their effects, regardless of the way it's summoned. Also note that "LV" Monsters of low level start of with low base stats, then those stats get stronger. The cards you made would be considered a "Type 4", but more related to "Type 2", which is funny because "Type 2" monsters have low stats . . . but yours does not . . . Now, on to the main idea. I'm disappointed that you "do not care enough about the different types of leveling monster to change her". That shows me that either you don't care about the concept of this contest, or you just don't care about furthering your skills as a card maker. That statement also annoys me because you specifically picked "Type THREE LV Monsters", yet it seems like you don't know what they are. Not only did you not do the task, but the cards you made were conceptually incorrect. You needed to create cards to support the weaknesses of "Type 3 LV Monsters", and the cards you created didn't even come close to doing that. The fact that you "do not care enough about the different types of leveling monsters to change her" represents a lack of motivation, as well as a lack of card making skills in general. I warned you that this contest is difficult, and I am indeed starting to believe that it is too much for you. I know this may be called "The Boss Contest", but i'm not looking for a boss monster. that's just how I choose to identify my contest. My next contest will be "The Boss Contest #3" and will deal with loops, not boss monsters. Straight from the F***in Requirements: The 2 monsters minimum (3 MAX if you want to) must be strong enough to make those decks playable with the cards currently in that archetype (or any support cards to go with it) WITHOUT being broken OR overpowered AND the cards must cover the weaknesses of the archetype . . . I am NOT asking you all to make cards for an exisiting archetype. I'm asking you to make cards that will SUPPORT an exisiting archetype, and cover the weaknesses that is present within it already. You can make a "Guardian" monster, but it still must support the weaknesses of the Guardian Archetype which is (I won't tell you because that is part of your job as contestants). for example: The Moth archetype weakness is that it's extremly difficult to keep the lower moths on the field long enough to summon cards such as "The Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth" and the like. So a card to support them may include a card that treats itself as "Petit Moth" by name OR that advances the turn count, to aid in the summoning of it's higher forms. A previous contestant of mine created a monster called "Inbred Moth", that is part of the MOTH archetype AND supported it. I would have taken the card if its name was "Clock Turner", just as long as it supported the WEAKNESSES of the archetype. Do you get it now? Xi-3
Curious. For one thing, I do not remember specifically choosing Type-3's. That was you. To my knowledge, their unique requirement is that they cannot use their effects unless they were summoned by their previous level. That is an intrinsic part of the way the Evangeline cards work, because her effect does not work at all unless you also have 'Full Moon.' That is her major weakness, in and of itself. Because Eva-chan requires 'Full Moon' to Level, summoning 'Eva-chan' and activating 'Full Moon' is an announcement of what you intend on doing, and there are plenty of monsters with more than 1800 ATK (maybe with an earlier version I could have made her weaker, but that was before I understood what she can do. For argument's sake, though, would you feel better if I lowered her ATK to 800)? 'Eva-san' does not have the weakness of her predecessor because her effect is always 'on.' She also has additional strength from having her full magic power at her command. Those are the major differences between her and 'Eva-chan.' Also, to be honest I do not usually like putting 'Lv' on my monsters if I can avoid it. I thought I could find a way to differentiate between them well enough without them, but added the 'Lv' just in case. For the Fusion card I had to put the 'Lv' because I already had a card by the same name, and if you try to save a card with a name like one you already have it overwrites the other card, even if you give it a different ID number. If I made the change to Eva-chan's ATK, would you accept her as a Leveling Monster then, or do I have to use Counters, or is it the phrase about her effect only working if she's summoned by her predecessor's effect? Because I think that line would be a waste of space. The text becomes too small for anyone to use it as well. EDIT: Actually, 1000 might make more sense. Both ATK and DEF, though. I mean, look at the boost 'Full Moon' gives her. I'll make the change.

(*facepalm*) Look, I don't know what you are trying to accomplish, but the cards you created do not, at all, met the requirements of this contest. How will the cards you create make Type-3's any more playable? How does it cover the weakeness that Type 3's have? Those are the questions you should be asking yourself when you create the cards for this contest. As I said, I will take your cards however you want to submit them, and I will judge them accordingly. If you change them, you do; if you don't, then oh well. Enough of this debating, it stops now.
Xi-3
Why did you specify Type-3s? For their weakness? Then I have already addressed that since by getting around their having to be summoned by their predecessor to use their effects they are no longer typical Type-3's at all. Besides, if something is an explicit result of an effect the card's creator really should not have to waste the space to write it (normally I'd assume we're creating these cards to be used by intelligent people who can read and reason. I know children are often smarter than we credit them for, however having to write everything is just ridiculous), especially as the card making software does funny stuff to the text sizes even when there is still room available on the card.
But as you've said, enough: I've looked at my cards and the reason I don't have Type-3s is because they are overall harder to keep on the field. They keep on getting destroyed because they're so vulnerable. How do you get around that? Boost their stats (like I had originally) or make them Type-2s or -1s. So there's really nothing else to be done with the cards themselves because, as I have said multiple times now, what you're asking me to do is to change a Type-3 into some other Type of Leveling Monster. And I have already done that. That said, I leave it to you as this contest's organizer whether or not to disqualify my entry or just keep it. I would like to keep it as is, because I entered this contest more out of curiosity than any desire to win. Besides, with all the glitches now is hardly the ideal time to be fiddling with the cardmaker's software.

Xi-3
About how far I could go in one of these contests, of course. I have made my final change to the cards. Further changes ought to result in my disqualification, as you have already been rather generous on this count. Didn't know ASCII art was legal, though. guuu1234
Well, in your self-defense, this contest is pretty difficult; opposed to a contest that would say "Make a machine-support or machine-type monster". What do you mean by ASCII?
Xi-3
Character art, then. Your facepalming thing.

Xi-3
It finally connected for me what you wanted for this contest. You want Monster Cards that support the type of card you specified. I could not understand before why you were saying it did not have to be a Leveling Monster, my mind being so stuck on that. If that's the case, then my Familiar cards would be best, as below: These are modified versions of similar cards to be found in the 'Dungeon Crawlers Set.' In any case, I already said I wouldn't let myself make any more changes, despite these cards fulfilling the contest's requirements (Evangeline would not, since she would be about supporting herself, not others).
