Generating Virtual Reality Simulation... It was only a matter of seconds before I once again found myself in a completely different dimension, surrounded by a simple, virtually endless, green plain. This was where I last left - a route that connected Amore Town to my destination - Yokai Village. A pack of lantern-like beings started to approach me, each stealing my soul with a single eye and a long, protruding tongue. They were not actual players like me, they were just a bunch of programmed pixels that could be replaced with ease. As my long, wavy, rainbow hair glistened in the sun, my rainbow longsword producing a blinding light as I started to duplicate into seven different copies, each with the seven colours of the rainbow. It was not easy to manipulate seven players at one go, so they slayed the herd of odd pixel beasts without a single command from me. “I believe my work here is done,” all seven replicas spoke before fusing into my multicoloured form once more. A lot of stamina was used to activate my duplication ability, and the bar beside me that literally spoke ‘health points’ was much shorter than before. I looked at my palms, and my colourful sword, only to note that my rainbow hue was beginning to fade. I was actually relieved that the Yokai Village was only a stone’s throw away, and I could take a short break there. As I began to enter, the place I imagined was less than expected. It was basically a Japanese-themed ghost town. I would not be surprised to see a ghost in these lands. I walked under the entrance of the town that looked like a red shrine arc. I had the thought of replicating myself once more to search the town, but like mentioned earlier, I lacked any strength to do so. So I simply approached the nearest, barren tree before taking a rest under it. As I took a short slumber, I began to ponder about my progress in the game. I haven’t played this game for half a year, yet it feels like I only last played this yesterday. This is the day I learn that this day was not the best day to return to this cyberspace.

I opened my chrome coloured eyes before yawning with my mouth wide open. I was obviously back to full colour. As I rubbed my eyes, I started to notice a long, shiny object in front of me. It was a katana. Wielding this ancient Eastern weapon was an odd, 1-metre tall bald creature with a head that resembled a gourd. “Child, I don’t see that you belong to any guild. I suspect you-” I boldly interrupted. “Solo player? I believe so.” “No,” he replied, giving me an annoyed look. “Changeling. Otherwise known as bots. Taking the form of players to hack the system and possibly permanently delete other players. I don’t suppose you’re going to wreak havoc now, are you?” “Don’t be so harsh on the lady. She’s no changeling. She’s just a regular player,” a voice spoke. The voice came from a curvacious, busty lady wearing a red kimono. What made her stand out were those glistening nine tails of bringht orange and those sexy fox ears. She was quite a knockout, one cannot deny. “Very well,” the bald dwarf spoke. “I do apologise. They call me Nurarihyon, Leader of the Night Parade. Its a pleasure to meet you ummm...” “Gin, the Seven-coloured Knight,” I sincerely stood up and bowed, before shaking Nurarihyon’s hand. “Pleasure to meet you too.” The nine-tailed lady approached me . “Good day young lady. My name is Tamae, the Nine-Tailed Warrior.” “Nice to meet you too, Tamae,” I grinned and blushed as I shook her hand. I then realised something. “By the way, how did you realise that I was not a changeling?” “You don’t want to know,” Nurarihyon kept a poker face. ~~~ I soon found myself in the building known as “The Night Parade”, a guild lead by Nurarihyon. It was a small guild of at least forty players.Tamae was a member, as well. The only outsider present in the building was me. We sat at a round table, the three of us talking. Of course, we weren’t the only players present in the building. “So, that’s why you’ve never heard of the changeling invasion. Geez,” Tamae sighed. “We don’t know much about it too. Its just an odd glitch that happened to pop out all of a sudden. We do know it tends to permanently delete players, but its true motive is unknown.” “Maybe it deletes the game or something,” I sighed, “no one wants that to happen.” “That sounds awful, I would agree,” Nurarihyon sipped a cup of tea before continuing, “we will never know until we-” All of a sudden, the ground started to shake with the velocity of a jackhammer. Everyone present in the building began to evacuate, by land or by air. “Huh? What’s happening?” I questioned as the three of us began to evacuate the building. It was only a matter of time before we witnessed a giant, eight-legged, mechanical spider-like being. Its fury and berserk could be compared to scorpion that just drank alcohol. The only exception was that it was not killing itself, it was devastating everything else. Without hesitation, Tamae immediately hovered upwards with ease, before creating warm, orange flames from each of her nine tails, before they began to evolve into crimson- then blue flames, and finally being launched at the odd foe. “It’s a changeling, this one’s extremely dangerous.” “You don’t say,” I replied as I watch the machine fire a giant laser cannon at Tamae. I could not bear to watch her ‘health points’ bar shrinking like a balloon. My shining rainbow boots granted me a minor speed boost, allowing me to stab my multicoloured sword into its mechanical leg, causing him to lose balance for a short period of time. By taking advantage of this time, Nurarihyon then began to slice off another leg of the beast. It began to topple, and finally fell. “That’s it?” I questioned. All Tamae said was a simple “nope”. The machine stood up, before withdrawing its legs and shifting into a tank-like form. It simply shot a giant, photon-based ray at me, lowering my health points to the red zone. “This guy is serious business,” I exclaimed. I then realised that I had too little health to duplicate. All of a sudden, the being exploded, and a blinding light was produced. That was the most random, yet dangerous and unforgettable moment of my life. By dangerous, I really meant it. Because I later learnt that this wasn’t just a game, the hard way. The ground below us began to break up into pixels, one by one. Every player surrounding us started began to suspend in motion, even Nurarihyon. For some reason, Tamae and I were not affected. “Wha- what’s happening?” I questioned in shock and worry. “I am unsure. But I believe that we should be able to do something about this. Some other time when we have the chance. It appears that someone has imprisoned these players in this game,” Tamae appeared really panicky. “We have to help now, but I guess we don’t have a choice now, do we? We’re stuck.” “Don’t worry, we’ll come back for you all,” Tamae smiled as she began to decompose into pixels and bytes, slowly disappearing from the face of this virtual world. For some reason, the same thing was happening to me. I looked at my hands, fading into pixels and squares. My multicoloured virtual body began to evaporate like there was no tomorrow. What she said was impossible. She and I were back in the real world. What does this truly mean? After a short period of time, I found myself, back in my nice, white room. I looked around – just my stuffed animals, and my bed. I looked into a hand mirror at my bedside and noticed my long, silver-coloured bedhead, instead of the multicoloured one my avatar possessed. Today was a weird day, but I never knew how much weirder it could get.
Jolta
Bump. But seriously, even I feel that I should modify Chapter 1. Review if you want, provided YCM still does it.
