This is us, hundreds of years into the future. Our numbers became too great for Earth That Was, and we built ships and terraforming devices, and set out towards the stars. We settled on terraformed worlds, growing, expanding. We formed the Earth Alliance, to bring government and civilization to all the outer planets. However, they did not wish to be part of our fruitful alliance. The browncoats, or Independants, formed an army, and fought the Alliance. It was a foolish thing to do, and a fruitless endeavor, as the war turned in the Battle of Serenity Valley. The browncoats were crushed, and civilization bloomed.

However, one seargent from the war manages to stay away from the alliance. Seargent Malcolm Reynolds, or 'Mal'. He obtained a Firefly-class ship, named it Serenity, and became a smuggler. His crew was as loyal as could be. Until one time, after a huge story, they discovered a secret. How the Reavers were created. Reavers were humans, but not men. They lived on ships that barely run, on the edge of space. All men fear them. For when they catch you, death is preferable. When they catch you, they will rape you to death, eat your flesh, and sew your skin onto their clothes. And if you're very, very lucky....they do it in that order. Mal and his crew discovered that the Alliance, albiet unwittingly, created the Reavers. They revealed via a tape that an Alliance officer had made, where she said how the Reavers were made, why, and that it was completely unintentional. This nearly toppeled the Interplanetary Parliament, and even now, armies are gathering on all planets. Undercover, and in disguise, the recon armies lie in the Central Planets. Fully outspoken, openly declaring war, are the main forces on the outer planets.

One man decides to follow in the footsteps of Malcolm Reynolds. His name is Lance. And he needs a crew.
Thats the plot, and the world in one :D
1. All YCM rules apply, and the advanced clause.
2. This world, although it is in the future, has no lasers, no aliens, none of that.
3. Or magic. This is realistic.
4. HAS FUN!

Name: Obvs. Full name, plz.
Age: Anywhere in between 20 and 30. No oldies on the ship.
Side: Alliance or Independants?
Role on the Ship: Only fill this out if a. You're on the Independants side and b. You're going to be on the ship. Roles include Pilot, Engineer, First Mate, Public Relations, Doctor, Negotiator, and Navigator. Details of the roles are below in a different spoiler.
Bio: 3-4 lines minimum.
Appearance: 4 lines, or pic and 2 lines minimum.
Personality: 3 lines minimum.
Weapons: Weapons in this time are like they are now. Machine guns, revolvers, hand guns, etc. Revolvers are the most popular sidearm.
Main Weapon: Which weapon do you use the most?
Sidearm: Obvs.
Other: Any info about your character that doesnt fit anywhere else.

Pilot: What it sounds like. You fly the ship. Also, you ARE allowed to be an EXCEPTIONAL flier. As in, extremely good.
Engineer: Again, what it sounds like. You make sure the ship stays in the air. It's a Firefly-class ship, so they dont need much. But as with the Pilot, you ARE allowed to be extremely good at your job. As in, the ship should be careening out of the sky, but because YOU have maintained it, it stays in the air.
First Mate: Goes with the captain(me) on his jobs, and is in charge if the captain is gone.
Public Relations: Ha, bet I had you confused. This public relations...depends on WHAT kind of relations you want. This role is the Tough Guy, the fighter, the muscle, and, optionally, the stupid.
Doctor: Duh. Again, as with Pilot and Engineer, you can be REALLY REALLY good at this job. Also, you can have a fully-supplied medkit with you at the beginning of the RP.
Negotiator: This is the good public relations. You are the haggler, the smart-and-smooth talker, the one who gets the jobs.
Captain: Me. The captain can adequately perform all neccesary jobs on the ship. He can sort of maintain the engine, knows full well how to fly the ship and can do it pretty darn well, is a fighter, and can take on the Negotiator role as well.
Navigator: The Pilot and Captain can easily take on this role, but if I run out of roles, feel free to use this one. You basically plan the routes, staying under the radar, etc.
Passenger: Duh. You're a passenger. I dont really reccomend being this, unless you're gonna be like Shepard Book from teh TV series.

Swap one of these for teh Role on the Ship slot in teh app if you're on teh Alliance side OR in the Independant Army.
Captain: You have a squad of feds/soldiers behind you almost all the time. You command your own section of a big-ass ship OR smaller ship if you are on the independants side. What else do you need?
Admiral: You have a HUGE squad of feds/soldiers behind you almost all the time. You command around three big-ass ships. Or around 2 medium-sized ships if you are a browncoat.
Operative: DAAAAAMN. The operatives are the cream of the crop. They have a small, but extremely well trained, squad of feds behind them at ALL times. They are extremely well-trained for combat. Also, they firmly BELIEVE that what they are doing is the RIGHT THING TO DO. No amount of talking or torture can change that. Operatives are ONLY Alliance.
Spy: You relay info back to the Independants, giving them a heads-up against any surprises the Alliance has for them. Spies are ONLY Browncoats.
Grunt: You are a fed/soldier.
Trained Grunt: You are a well-trained fed/soldier.
Boss Grunt: You are one of the Feds that Operatives usually choose. OR you are a high-ranking soldier. Seargent or something.

Name: Lance Arnolds
Age: 25
Side: Independants
Role on the Ship: Captain
Bio: Lance was sixteen when he saw his first Firefly. His father ran a junk shop, and he got customers of all ends of the galaxy. One day, a Firefly-Class ship landed near their shop, and Lance's father named crazy-high prices to buy it. "Lance, if you ever see a ship that looks like this," his father would tell him while pointing at a picture of a Firefly, "you come running to me. These may look like junk, but they will stay with you till the very end." The captain of the Firefly said almost the same thing. "I ain't selling this ship. I love this boat. Love keeps her in the air when she outta fall down....tells you she's hurtin' before she keels. She ain't never failed me. So I aint gonna fail her." After that speech, his father gave up. Two years later, an out-of-control hunk of metal fell in Lance's backyard. It was the hull of a Firefly. It took Lance and his father four years to reconstruct it, and after one year of flight training, Lance was ready to pilot it. "You go out there and give that Alliance what-for son." His father told him. "Get yourself a crew. A good, loyal crew. Go make me proud." Lance vowed to make his father the proudest man in the world. And he hoped to meet Mal, the man who had visited his junk shop all those years ago.

Appearance: Lance is tallish, around 5'10. He has a well-filled figure, but not overweight. He has green-brown eyes, and a small scar on the underside of his elbow, from a stray piece of sharp metal in his fathers shop. He wears simple clothes, browns and tans. Tan shirt, brown pants, brown belt. He has black boots. His shirts are mostly short-sleeved, and he has a dark brown duster for when he needs it. He never wears hats.

Personality: Lance is extremely friendly, if you're friendly to him first. He likes new people, if they like him. He seems very cold and rock-hard to outsiders. To his friends, he is a loyal comrade. Always in the mood for a good brawl, he'll walk into a bar, get drunk, and start throwing bar stools around. He gets a perverse high off of doing so, and if he gets a little too drunk, he has to rely on his crewmates to bring him back to the ship. He never gets drunk on the job though. On the job, he is completely determined to finish the job, and get paid. Although he works for the Independants, and idolizes Mal, he still likes to get paid for his smuggling.

Weapons: Lance uses a variety of weapons. He has around 5 handguns, 1 machine gun, 2 rifles, and a revolver. He keeps the revolver in a holster on his belt, and the rest of his weapons in a trunk under his bed.

Primary Weapon: His revolver or a rifle.
Sidearm: His revolver or a handgun.
Other: N/A

reserve doctor please

Name: Ashley Rose
Age: 29
Side: Alliance
Role on the Ship: Doctor
Bio: TBA
Appearance: TBA
Personality:
Normally Ashley is high on Morphine throughout most of the day, something that is frowned upon but since he still does his job, and does it damn well at that, the crew lets him be. Also, they once tried to wear him off the drug but that didn't end well.

When going through these withdrawal symptoms; he is unable to sleep, turns bipolar and somewhat paranoid and it hinders his work performance completely. He can go from being absolutely fine to breaking down in tears and screaming in fear the next second. The longer he is without the morphine the more paranoid and aggressive he turns, blaming everyone for the way he feels and acting threatening in general to anybody near him. However, when he gets to this stage the crew usually straps him in somewhere to keep himself and the crew safe.

As long as he can have a steady stream of Morphine going into his system he is completely fine and operable though. While he's quite eccentric and impulsive he seems to be completely at ease and happy at all times, greeting everybody with a smile and makes small talk. He will always try to help people out and is generally very kind, but he doesn't really read body language very well and seems to be unable to tell when people are busy or do not wish to be bothered. This can sometimes cause him to be a nuisance to people, making them yell at him or throw him out of whatever room he has entered. Whenever this happens he will walk around sad and confused for a while as he usually doesn't understand what he has done to cause that person to become so angry with him. Luckily the drug affects his short term memory so he's usually not bothered by it for too long.

Weapons: Revolver, and, though it's not mainly a weapon, a scalpel
Main Weapon: Revolver
Sidearm: N/A
Other: -
Cool. As for the last part of the "Weapons", Fireflies dont HAVE any weapons. The only thing they have is a one-time-use trick. A bunch of little things drop out of the cargo bay, and shoot off in different directions. Each leaves a signal and a trail. That way, the smuggling ship can get away unnoticed.

But...but....it's millions of years in the future! :'( I guess I'll have to live with out my futuristic ancient egyptian laser beams.
It's not millions of years in the future if it's based on Firefly. It's a couple o' hundred years in the future.
