Astro Dude
Censoring was involved but that's no reason to hate them. I mean, would you want 7 year olds to see Bulma in her uhhh right in front of their parents. And they kinda avoided the whole Blackface racist thing with Mr. Popo. Imagine how much trouble they would've been in with that. But getting back on topic I liked the dubbed version of 5d's despite the fact they never finished it. Hmmm... wonder how the voice of Sailor Jupiter or Princess Sally would fit Akiza or Tori?
Phantom Roxas
Not true. If you haven't been watching Toonzai, you'll see they're re-running Classic Yu-Gi-Oh! and they just finished the Capsule Monsters arc and are moving on to the "Pharaoh's Name" arc. And Toonzai is a five hour block, but take Yugioh and DBZ away and you're left with 2 1/2 hours of nothing. What will you run from 9-11 and 11:30 to noon?
I knew they were running Capsule Monsters, but not that they were going to the Pharaoh's Memory arc after that. By "done", I meant that they had finished dubs, which is why they're on reruns. Do Yu-Gi-Oh! and DBZ really take up half of the block's running time? Also, most people should be watching The Legend of Korra at 11:00, because it is awesome.
And DiC, you got me sold there. The voice cast for Sonic SatAM was phenominal. Maybe they'll run it again.
I'm tempted to bring back that debate about Back to the Future: The Animated Series, but these are different companies. You're better off waiting for them to release them on DVD or for them to have something like Boomerang.
And Fairly Odd Parents dosen't count as anime.
Then why bring up Sonic SatAM? In fact, it's the biggest reason for why we hate them. I'm all for allowing an adaptation to stand on it's own when I can, but 4Kids butchers the source material of their licenses to the point that they become unrecognizable, a practice which VG Cats portrayed accurately. ~/Coolio Prime\~
We're talking about ONE company. Do you really think that means we're talking about all dubbing companies?
4Kids and Funimation. Given their field presence you'd think they'd be among the most profitable, so it's just an assumption. And it probably has a good deal to do with fansubs and general methods the community takes to watch things.

I'm tempted to bring back that debate about Back to the Future: The Animated Series, but these are different companies. You're better off waiting for them to release them on DVD or for them to have something like Boomerang. Then Shout Factory is the one for the classics Then why bring up Sonic SatAM? Astro Dude
Well they don't show it much anymore. Also, 4kids did keep the girl characters chests from One Piece the same size. Though parents probably wouldn't have approved seeing Nami stab her arm in anger.
Shradow
Parents complain about everything. They think shows like One Piece have too much violence and swears and things for kids, despite shows like that not being made for kids in the first place. Astro Dude
I agree. We'll just see what develops. And with Yugioh gone from their roster, who knows. Maybe 4kids will make an anime version of Jem. They did so for GI JOE.
~British Soul~
whoever gets the rights to yugioh better dub GX season 4, although it might not happen given the BS reason for not dubbing it: "it's too dark." With season 0, using the first episodes as the prime example, Dark Yugi acted so cruelly by inflicting a penalty game onto the loser of the shadow game
Dr. Cakey
Dubbing companies don't make money because very few people buy anime. That's why they rely so much on selling rights to Hulu, Netflix, Crunchyroll, and so forth. On an unrelated note, does 4Kids dub anything other than Yu-Gi-Oh! anymore? Astro Dude
Curently they're working on Tai Chi Chasers. Maybe the head of the company should read what fans might want. Who knows, a reinvention of Jem and the Holograms, maybe a reinvention of an old Hanna Barbera series, something like that.

Astro Dude
I know. Anyway, Zexal and Yugioh maybe gone, but I doubt 4kids will give up on Tai Chi Chasers. I think 4kids should dust off some old shows THEY had like Fighting Foodons, Ultraman Tiga or Tama and Friends.

Astro Dude
If Funimation gets all of Yu-gi-Oh, wouldn't they have to reunite the cast of all four series and get some new faces for the new characters. Honestly I would like Funimation to dub Yugioh season zero and the rest of Zexal if that were to happen.
They don't need to get the original cast back. How much of the cast for the 4Kids version of One Piece came for the the Funimation dub? It's not like Funimation doesn't have plenty of voice actors to do the roles. It was just some fan showing that they want Funimation to pick up Yu-Gi-Oh!, but since the Funimation Channel still expressed interest in it happening, it's possible. Medivh
I only have Hulu Plus, so if Funimation gets the rights, does this mean YGO + GX + 5ds etc. will come off of there? But Funimation dubbing Zexal would still be awesome.
Tentacruel
Sounds good, but to be honest I don't think Funi could really do that much better of a job on the original series.
