Priority of Ignition effects on summon

Recommended Posts

Once again, a rumor is spreading that the infamous "priority" will be removed soon from the TCG, this time May 28, with the release of the Battle Pack, according to the rumor. Apparently, the announcement has been forwarded to certain OTSs (Oficial Tournament Store).

Anyways, I take this chance so we can discuss one more time this rule or mechanic and express our opinion about it's dissapearance, be the rumor true or not.

Go!

Removing Priority makes having cards like BLS @1 feel comfortable and not extremely topdeck-sacky.
It's an idiotic rule that should be removed from the game to ultimately make the game much better and the formats a whole lot worse.
Also cards such as Bottomless Trap Hole, Torrential Tribute, and even Raigeki Break become more playable than they already were and makes many similar cards so much better.

After Admining on DN for so long, a LOT of dumb situatins would never happen without priority.

Player: "He Summoned Wind-Up Hunter wth Wind-Up Magician. I want to use Torrential Tribute. Can he use Hunter's effect?"
Me: *silently aware how stupidly cheap the answer is* Yes. TCG still has Priority on Ignition Effects.

Not quite.
Not every deck could run Raigeki Break, Phoenix Wing, and every other similar card, all in 3s.
No. They run it in 1's or 2's.

Then it becomes a tech.

No, being run in every deck makes it a staple.

MST is only run at 2 in some decks, does that make it a tech? No.

Although, I don't agree with the notion that Raigeki Break would be an absolute staple, I believe it would see a huge rise in play.
FABLEDS.

But seriously, it'll be that and Bottomless. Less Bottomless against Inzektors.

LOL, TGU becomes available to everyone and THEN they make Rabbit able to be hit by everything.

Couple questions:

What is TGU

Why would Raigeki Break suddenly jump in usefulness? Same reason as Bottomless?
Tour Guide from the Underworld. Know your Yugimonz

Raigeki Break and Bottomless are both much metter because of this because they can destroy any Opponent's monster before they can activate their effects.

TGU = Tour Guide of the Underworld (or so I've heard)

The quickest and most succinct way to explain priority is the wiki:

http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Priority

Basically, it guarantees your monsters effects have a spot in a chain. Commonly run cards that have priority are Brionac, DAD, Chaos Sorcerer, BLS-Envoy, and probably a lot of other cards, I'm too tired to remember. Basically, Bottomless and Raigeki become better, Brionac, DAD, CS, BLS become (slightly) weaker.
