[b]Appearance: Roderick stands at a height of 7'1", slightly tanned and athletically muscled with a squarish jaw and some facial stubble, bearing amber eyes and short, bleached-blond hair (natural color is a lightish brown). Normally, his attire consists of a black, sleeveless hooded jacket worn over a faded green muscle shirt and slightly worn beige cargo pants with a tear over the left knee. Keeps his items in a dark-red-and-black, single strap backpack, and any Pokemon he has captured on a belt around his waist, often keeping the Ball of the Pokemon to send out first in battle on a magnetic chain around his neck. Sometimes puts on a pair of frameless, non-perscription glasses. [/b][/b]

[b][b]Biography: Born and raised in Aspertia City, Unova, Roderick grew up a rebel in a household where the Pokemon that lived with them were treated as part of the family. Starting his own journey at the age of 15 with his Oshawott, "Sean", Roderick took on every Gym he came across, managing to obtain 9 Badges, more than enough to finally gain access to the Unova Pokemon League, at the age of 16. Sadly, however, he was unable to take out even the first of the Champion's Team, and to add salt to the wound, "Sean", who was then a Samurott, was crippled in the fight, and his Stoutland, "Scott" was fatally injured. Seeing this as being a result of his own overconfidence and blind drive to win, Roderick left the League to wander the region, his heart heavy with guilt and sorrow, in order to reevaluate his life....[/b][/b]

[b][b]For the next seven years, Roderick traveled and trained with a wandering Motorcyclist, a self-prclaimed "heartbreaker" by the name of Charles, who taught him, among other valuable lessons, how to better control his emotion[/b]s and impulses, and to cherish the time shared with his Pokemon, for although they will not always stay with you physically, they will always have a place in your heart. For this, Roderick and Charles would often make regular visits to the Daycare on Route 3, as well as to the Celestial Tower where "Scott" was laid to rest. [/b]

[b]At the age of 23, Roderick bid farewell to Charles and made his way overseas to the Kanto/Johto continent, as a way to start anew; prior to this, Charles gave him a newly-hatched Cubchoo, which Roderick would later name after the heartbreaker himself. First taking on the Johto side, then the Kanto side, Roderick eventually made it to the Indigo League. Although he performed spectacularly, making it to the Top 3, Roderick eventually dropped out of the competition, still somewhat uncertain of himself.[/b]

[b]After leaving the Kanto/Johto continent, Roderick then travelled to Hoenn, gaining all eight badges for that region and yet declined to take part in the Evergrande League. He would do the same for the Sinnoh region before eventually returning home to the Unova region to take an indefinite hiatus from battling.[/b]

[b]Six months ago, Roderick received an invitation to partake in a challenge taking place at the island of Olene. Though initially deciding to decline, the support from his family and friends, including his Samurott, "Sean", eventually made him change his mind. Before he left for Olene, Roderick made a stop over at Driftveil City to visit Charles, but found out upon arrival that Charles had not been seen anywhere for the past few months. Although worried, Roderick still hoped to see Charles soon.[/b]

[b]Wishing to once again start fresh for the challenge, Roderick left his previous Team at home, and took with him, once more, another infant Cubchoo, this one being the offspring of his Beartic, "Charles", and christened him "Charlie".[/b]


[b][b][b]Personality: Roderick has a passionate love for battles and competition, but also has an analytical side, able to come up with strategies almost on the fly. Despite his somewhat intimidating figure, he is usually gentle and caring, especially toward his friends and Pokemon, yet has been prone to fly off the handle in a rage when witnessing injustice being done. He has also been known to surprise people with his knowledge of Pokemon psychology and medicine.[/b][/b][/b]
