A place for people to live with Pokemon together, some of them are like pets. Some people host contests for their Pokemon, and some even study them as a science. What do I do? The same as you of course! We are Pokemon trainers. We fight with our Pokemon, bonding with them, and winning badges from different regions. Once you get the 8 badges, you can fight the Elite Four, the most powerful trainers ever![/left] [left]Of course, you already knew that, right? This time, we have something even bigger prepared for you, the Olene Challenge![/left] [right]- Rob Vasilik, Castle Lord of the South.[/right] [left][spoiler='Plot'] You play the role of a Pokemon Trainer, that just arrived to the Island of Olene on the ferry. You were chosen for your skills to enter the ultimate challenge for a trainer.[/left] [left]Instead of Gym Leaders, there are Castle Lords in the Island, called the Big Four. You must fight the 4 Castle Lords around the Island, and enter the Championship Finale. You will start with 1 Pokemon, but don't worry: as soon as you get to the island, you are free to catch them all. In this island live every Pokemon from every region, and Legendary Pokemon roam around it.[/left] [left]Watch out for not everything is candy canes here. An evil organization run by a man vaguely named X resides here. They call themselves Team Genesis, and their goal is to capture every Legendary Pokemon, to find the root of their powers and use them to control all regions. While big in size, it's really calm and peaceful. A perfect place to catch sweet water Pokemon, like Azurill, Magikarp, Totodile, Squirtle or Krabby.[/left] [left]2 - Desec Town: Because it's near a deserted area, not many plants grow here. Still, a lot of Pokemon that are adept with hot temperatures live here, such as Charmander, Pansear, Heatmor or Cindaquil.[/left] [left]3 - Trigi Shrine: An abandoned place of worship, it is said the Regis rest here, somewhere. This place is only inhabited by Sandshrew and Darumaka.[/left] [left][b]W - Home of the Castle Lord of the West, Umbra Venator. He specializes in Dragon Types and gives the Wingbeat Badge. (controlled by HijackAttack)[/b][/left] [left]4 - Argen City: A big city, that glows with prosperity. The Mall stands in the middle of the city, where there is a TM store and much more! The city's name comes from the fact that everything in the town shines silver to the sunlight. Voltorbs and Electrodes light the city at night, so try to catch some![/left] [left]5 - Contesy Community: Even if the Challenge is about the battles, this small group of people host a Pokemon contest. Performance and Style are more important than power here, so do your best! Some people say that a weird man sells Pokemon eggs here, so watch out for him.[/left] [left]6 - Sunflower Day Care Center/Spa: If you can't keep a Pokemon, leave it at the Day care and the owners will take care of it for you. It also has a spa for you to relax with your friends, with a sauna included.[/left] [left][b]S - Home of the Castle Lord of the South, Rob Vasilik. He uses Water and Ice Pokemon and gives the Flake Badge.(controlled by me)[/b][/left] [left] 7 - Domia City: A city surrounded by tall walls, it's a dark place to visit. Team Genesis have their base here, so be careful. It is inhabited by Ghost Type Pokemon, like Gengar and Dark Types like Absol.[/left] [left]8 - Hory City: A desertic place, it's well known for the Pory Hotel and Casino, where you can rest, battle and, if you are lucky, win the biggest prize ever: A master ball![/left] [left]9 - Cetili Forest: A big hot forest, home to a wide variety of Plant, Insect and Water Pokemon. There's a clearing in the darkest spot in the forest, where a huge community of Treecko, as well as Grovile and Sceptile, worship Celebi's wooden Shrine.[/left] [left][b]Andeel Mountain Chain: A tall mountain chain splits the Island in two. Every kind of Rock and Ground Pokemon live at it's base, and multiple caves while Ice Pokemon live on it's snowy peeks. A legend says that Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno live here, on the North, Center and South parts of the chain respectively.[/b][/left] [left]10 - Olene Research Lab: This place is the biggest center in Pokemon research to date, of any region. This is the place where the first Pokedex and Pokenav were developed.[/left] [left][b]E - Docking Spot of the Castle Lord of the East, Quincy Kempe's Moving Fortress. He is adept with Steel Type Pokemon, and gives the Silva Medal. Upon getting the Four Badges, trainers will battle in the Vitoria Championship: an elimination round to decide the Olene Challenge's finalists. The pool has two balcony like platforms above, for the trainers to direct their Pokemon. In the middle of the pool is a big platform made out of thin ice, where the Pokemon battle. It looks like a small naval base with a classic castle on top, crimson and black paint job for both parts, with eight wheels on each side. It can also fly. When it does, the wheels flip over and become jets and wings extend from either side. Inside the castle is just a small system of maze-like corridors. At the end, you come to a small wrestling stadium like arena where you battle Quincy and his first couple pokemon, then advance to a different arena for the battle with Lucario (His boss pokemon). The second arena is a large bowl arena with a flattish bottom. After defeating Lucario, he brings you into the command room to give you TM Flash Cannon and a special item. Inside, before you can battle him, you have to pass through the Nexus of Flames. Essentially, it is a maze that seems to be made of fire. At the end of passages that aren't the right way, there are two Charmanders that will try to attack the trainer and their Pokemon. Her parents raised her to a very smart child who loves Pokemon. When Kotomi turned 11, she left on her Pokemon journey around Kanto with her Pichu. After this, she traveled Johto with her cousin, Naota. She was 13 when she returned to Kanto and stayed there until she was 15. At the age of 15, she traveled to the Orange Islands to vist her mother's parents. She then visted Sinnoh to met her father's parents. Then she went to Orre, where she helped Professor Krane during one of the Cipher attacks on Orre. She met, befriended and caught many Pokemon along the way. But then Kotomi decided to take a trip to the Olene Region, where she was met by a childhood friend from Kanto. Kotomi was overjoyed to see her friend again, but then her friend did the unthinkable. Her friend kidnapped her. You see, her friend was apart of Team Genesis. He forced Kotomi to become a member of Team Genesis, due to her Pokemon's increable power. Kotomi had no chocie, as she didn't know anyone else in this region and sadly became a Genesis Grunt. But her power made her climb up the ladder to one of the admins of Genesis. Kotomi Ichinose; Fourth in Command. [b]Personality: [/b]Kotomi Ichinose is a very shy girl. Despite being shy, she is extremly intellagent. She cares deeply for her Pokemon other Pokemon. Kotomi would go out of way to save a Pokemon that she's never met before. She would even care for evil Pokemon, such as the ones owned by Team Rocket. But Kotomi's shyness leads her to running away from battles, and sometimes, important battles. [b][b][b]Home Region: Kanto[/b][/b][/b] [spoiler=Pokemon] Pokemon #1: Raichu [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/d/d0/Spr_5b_026_m.png[/img] Raichu was Kotomi's first Pokemon. She first got him when he was a Pichu. Throughout Kotomi's adventures, Pichu evolved into Pikachu from being with Kotomi for so long. When Kotomi visted her grandparents on the Orange Islands, Pikachu stumbled upon a Thunderstone, making him evolve into Raichu. Pokemon #2: Clefable [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/d/d4/Spr_5b_036.png[/img] Clefable was Kotomi's second Pokemon. Kotomi found her as a Cleffa, who was lost in Kotomi's hometown of Cerulean City. Kotomi galdly took in the Cleffa as her own Pokemon. Cleffa evolved into Clefairy when Kotomi was traveling Johto with her cousin. After Kotomi had obtained most of her Pokemon, including a Jigglypuff, Kotomi got a Moon Stone from a random shop in Kanto. Jigglypuff and Clefairy both evolve with a Moon Stone, but Kotomi only had one. She ended up giving it to Clefairy, making her evolve into Clefable. Pokemon #3: Jigglypuff [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/3/34/039.png[/img] Kotomi found Jigglypuff as an Igglybuff during her Johto adventure. Igglybuff was very stubbon and kept running away from Kotomi whenever she tried to catch her. Kotomi finally caught her with an Ultra Ball. Igglybuff almost evolved as soon as she was caught, since Kotomi kept trying to catch Igglybuff, it showed that she really cared for the Pokemon. Kotomi obtained a Moon Stone that she was going to give to Jigglypuff, but she ended up giving it to her Clefairy. Pokemon #4: Jynx [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/a/a8/124.png[/img] Kotomi found Jynx as a Smoochum during her stay in the Orange Islands. Smoochum was very shy, but followed Kotomi around the islands. Kotomi realized that Smoochum wanted to be apart of Kotomi's Pokemon team. Kotomi agreed with Smoochum and caught it! Smoochum took awhile to evolve, though. Everytime Smoochum started to evolve, she stopped evolving. Kotomi found out that Smoochum was holding an Everstone, keeping her from evolving. Smoochum gave Kotomi the stone, letting herself evolve into Jynx. Pokemon #5: Blissey [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/a/a0/242.png[/img] Kotomi visted Sinnoh to meet her other grandparents. Her grandmother gave Kotomi an egg. Soon after, her grandmother died. Kotomi held onto the egg as it was the only thing she had to remember her grandmother by. The egg hatched into Happiny. Kotomi raised Happiny into a Chansey. Chansey took awhile to evolve also. Kotomi trained hard with Chansey, who soon evolved into Blissey. Pokemon #6: Wobbufet [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/c/c0/202.png[/img] When a small Wynaut crossed Kotomi's path, she fell in love with the Pokemon. Kotomi caught the Wynaut with glee. Wynaut evolved in the middle of a battle between Kotomi and her father, who also had a Wobbufet. Kotomi beat her father's Wobbufet with her Wobbufet. Wobbufet got lost in the Orre Region once for two weeks, sending Kotomi into a deep depression. Wobbufet found his way back to Kotomi, who was filled with joy by the return of her Pokemon. --------------------------------- Pokemon #7 & 8 (Switches spots with Wobbufet and Jynx in her party) Roserade and Mr. Mine Roserade and Mr. Mine where both Pokemon Kotomi found in the Olene Region as wild Pokemon. Kotomi caught and trained them both and they love her dearly. Please note that all of Kotomi's Pokemon were Baby Pokemon at first. His first Pokémon was a Treeko, and since then he has kept a team of quick-moving, ninja-like Pokémon. He went on to defeat the eight Hoenn Gyms and defeat the Elite Four but failed to defeat Steven, the current Champion. Afterwards, he set his sights on the Hoenn Battle Frontier. He failed to defeat Pyramid King Brandon, but succeeded in winning each other symbol. He took a boat to Sinnoh, but didn’t defeat any gyms because he almost instantly heard of the Olene Challenge and leaving the Region. Before he went to Olene, he went back to his home in Fortree City to, and there his father, Edward Cambell, gave him the family pet, an Absol named Soldier. He plans everything out before hand, and has millions of strategies running through his head at a time. In battle, he syncs his body with his Pokémon, often trying to mimic their movements to know just what is needed to come through and win. He’s really friendly when you get to know him, but he can be quite shy at first. This time though, he only managed to get fourth place. After this loss, he stopped coordinating do to him losing to his rival in the semi-finals. He went back to Sinnoh depressed, only to find that his parents where proud of him. They were amazed that he even made it that far. His parents told him to try to beat the pokemon gyms and try to win the pokemon league. He went versus a gym just so his parents can know that he at least tried to get back into pokemon. He managed to beat Fantina, once again thanks to his Lopunny. He fell in love with pokemon battles and went on beat the rest of the gyms in sinnoh. Yet he only managed to get fourteenth place in the Sinnoh League. Either way he wasn't going to give up; that's when he heard about the Olene Island challenge. He decided he would take that challenge and it was perfect timing too. His Lopunny had a little daughter, which was perfetct do to the trainers only being able to start with one pokemon. He was born to a decent class family, and was raised in an average manner, going to school like a normal kid and making various friends, and led a relatively normal life. He showed a passion for pokémon very early on, especially those of a water or ice type. His facination extended beyond that of a normal child's interest, and developed into what can only be described as a passion. It was not long before a talent was shown in him, being able to command a set of pokémon he'd never met, and gain a tie against one of the gym trainers, after asking for a challenge. As such, gym leader Jasmine decided that she would mentor him personally, to develop him into a great trainer. It didn't take long for his talents to shine, after he befriended an injured Lapras that had washed up onto the nearby beach. It was relatively young and quite weak, but Aaron managed to help it recover, and befriended it enough for it to journey with him. After buying a pokéball with the last of his pocket money, he chose Lapras as his first pokémon and decided, around the age of 15, that he would become a Pokémon trainer. He trained constantly, learning many things from Jasmine and her Gym trainers, and eventually(Age 16) became skilled enough to defeat all but Jasmine, who suggested that he try the Johto league challenge, allowing him to use her Skarmory to travel to the location of the first gym battle, Falkner of Violet city. After his incredible straight up victory over Falkner, he claimed that he would never fly again, and refuses to catch any initially flying type pokémon. He battled his way through the rest of Johto quite easily, catching a large variety of mainly Water and Ice type pokémon. His battle against Jasmine was something to be seen, and though Aaron won, the battle was incredibly close. He defeated the Elite four in an incredible straight win, and managed to reach the pinacle, the battle against Lance. It was an incredibly close battle, and Aaron claims that he only won due the Ice's match up against Dragon. After his victory, during Lance's congratulations, he was offered the position of Johto league champion, due to Lance wishing to concentrate more on Kanto. Aaron obviously accepted, being realised as the most powerful trainer in all Johto. He stayed in Johto for another 3 years, fulfilling his duties as Champion, as well has having some pretty exciting experiences, such as a battle with the Legendary Lugia, in order to calm the raging seas around Olivine and Cianwood city. He was hailed as a hero for managing to repel the legendary beast, despite it being a tie, due to Lugia fleeing. However, after an invitation over to Sinnoh to battle Cynthia, and his victory being seen as the 'Battle of the Decade', he decided he wanted more adventure, and left the handling of the Johto League in the hands of Karen, while he takes on the new Olene challenge. Having only being allowed to enter with his Lapras, he looks forward to the test of skill while hoping to capture some new, rare pokémon. [b]Personality:[/b] Despite his title and his international fame, Aaron has a surprisingly shy and quiet nature, and is rarely willing to speak to large groups or on camera. He will never make a large spectacle of anything if he can help it, and will often critiscise his own abilities and compliment his opponent's, in order to move attention to them. He is quite lazy and lax, and will often avoid confrontation at all merely because of the effort required, a trait that has been passed on to all of his closest pokémon. Being the youngest among 5 brothers, he was raised in a family of play fighting and violence, and as such learned to defend himself. He enjoyed his life with his brothers a lot, and although he was the most violent of the brothers, he was also originally the most compassionate, showing adoration and Idolisation for his brothers, and a love for pokémon. He had originally dreamed of becoming the strongest trainer, like many other kids, and couldn't wait to collect pokémon. Until he was 12. He had just recieved his first pokémon, a gift from his rich uncle, who was visiting due to said uncle's birthday. Being a rich and powerful person, their uncle had managed to find 5 different Psuedo legendaries, and awarded them to his Nephews. Some were already pokémon trainers, but they all accept the rare pokémon with gratitude. Vex recieved a Dratini, the largest of all the Psuedo's there. However, during the party, when Vex went out side to play with his new pokémon, the house exploded. A rival business man had been plotting to kill Vex's uncle, and had finally succeeded. So Vex was left homeless, and along with his Dratini was left to travel alone and hungry. He had been travelling for only 6 days before he was unable to move, having not had any food. Luckily for him, a mysterious man arrived and saved him, bringing him to his house. Without revealing his Identity, this man explained some plans to Vex, and how he would make him strong enough to get revenge on his family. He identified himself as 'X', and gave the then named Shivexel the nickname Vex, and code name V, before taking him to be trained. Nowadays, he has lost his previous compassion, and has almost forgotten all about his fight for revenge, only wishing to get stronger, and in essence has become what X most likely wanted. He has become probably the widest known Genesis admin throughout the organisation, known for his cruelty and his treatment of those that are weak or those that betray Genesis. He will only acknowledge the other admins, the Castle lords and X, and among them the only person he will obey is X directly. He's cunning, deceiving, intelligent and lack moral respect for most people, with only the other Admins, X and the Castle Lords being the only people in Olene he will acknowledge. He is power-mad and power-hungry, protecting his current rank with a rabid ferocity, and aiming for much more. He is cocky and snide, and will most often insult an opponent before a battle. He also refuses to battle people he considers 'unworthy', sending in grunts to deal with the dirty work in his stead. During battle he gain a manic attack, using attack after attack from his powerful team, unleasing a barrage of destruction meant to cripple the foe quickly. While in battle he also insult his opponent less, concentrating more on the battle at hand than the opponent. The only things he will be 'kind' to are his pokémon, who - despite the murky history between them - seem to be his only friends. He's not one of the guys that will protect and love his pokémon, but he dislikes seeing them injured, and acts much nicer around them, aswell as telling them many things that he wouldn't tell others. He has a facination with Dragon type pokémon, seeing them as Lords of Pokémon, and viewing their power as legendary. As such, he collects them as a way to demonstrate his own power. Despite him being the lowest of the Admins, Vex views himself as the strongest, and although his all out offensive strategies most often have him lose to the other Admins, it is a dangerous strategy, and no-one ever escapes unharmed. At the age of 15, she traveled to the Orange Islands to vist her mother's parents. She then visted Sinnoh to met her father's parents. But then Kotomi decided to take a trip to the Olene Region, where she was met by a childhood friend from Kanto. Kotomi was overjoyed to see her friend again, but then her friend did the unthinkable. Kotomi had no chocie, as she didn't know anyone else in this region and sadly became a Genesis Grunt. But her power made her climb up the ladder to one of the admins of Genesis. But Kotomi's shyness leads her to running away from battles, and sometimes, important battles. Kotomi found her as a Cleffa, who was lost in Kotomi's hometown of Cerulean City. Kotomi galdly took in the Cleffa as her own Pokemon. Cleffa evolved into Clefairy when Kotomi was traveling Johto with her cousin. After Kotomi had obtained most of her Pokemon, including a Jigglypuff, Kotomi got a Moon Stone from a random shop in Kanto. Jigglypuff and Clefairy both evolve with a Moon Stone, but Kotomi only had one. She ended up giving it to Clefairy, making her evolve into Clefable. Pokemon #3: Jigglypuff [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/3/34/039.png[/img] Kotomi found Jigglypuff as an Igglybuff during her Johto adventure. Igglybuff was very stubbon and kept running away from Kotomi whenever she tried to catch her. Kotomi finally caught her with an Ultra Ball. Igglybuff almost evolved as soon as she was caught, since Kotomi kept trying to catch Igglybuff, it showed that she really cared for the Pokemon. Kotomi obtained a Moon Stone that she was going to give to Jigglypuff, but she ended up giving it to her Clefairy. Pokemon #4: Jynx [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/a/a8/124.png[/img] Kotomi found Jynx as a Smoochum during her stay in the Orange Islands. Smoochum was very shy, but followed Kotomi around the islands. Kotomi realized that Smoochum wanted to be apart of Kotomi's Pokemon team. Kotomi agreed with Smoochum and caught it! Smoochum took awhile to evolve, though. Everytime Smoochum started to evolve, she stopped evolving. Kotomi found out that Smoochum was holding an Everstone, keeping her from evolving. Smoochum gave Kotomi the stone, letting herself evolve into Jynx. Pokemon #5: Blissey [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/a/a0/242.png[/img] Kotomi visted Sinnoh to meet her other grandparents. Her grandmother gave Kotomi an egg. Soon after, her grandmother died. Kotomi held onto the egg as it was the only thing she had to remember her grandmother by. The egg hatched into Happiny. Kotomi raised Happiny into a Chansey. Chansey took awhile to evolve also. Kotomi trained hard with Chansey, who soon evolved into Blissey. Pokemon #6: Wobbufet [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/c/c0/202.png[/img] When a small Wynaut crossed Kotomi's path, she fell in love with the Pokemon. Kotomi caught the Wynaut with glee. Wynaut evolved in the middle of a battle between Kotomi and her father, who also had a Wobbufet. Kotomi beat her father's Wobbufet with her Wobbufet. Wobbufet got lost in the Orre Region once for two weeks, sending Kotomi into a deep depression. Wobbufet found his way back to Kotomi, who was filled with joy by the return of her Pokemon. --------------------------------- Pokemon #7 & 8 (Switches spots with Wobbufet and Jynx in her party) Roserade and Mr. Mine Roserade and Mr. Mine where both Pokemon Kotomi found in the Olene Region as wild Pokemon. This time though, he only managed to get fourth place. After this loss, he stopped coordinating do to him losing to his rival in the semi-finals. His parents told him to try to beat the pokemon gyms and try to win the pokemon league. He went versus a gym just so his parents can know that he at least tried to get back into pokemon. Yet he only managed to get fourteenth place in the Sinnoh League. Either way he wasn't going to give up; that's when he heard about the Olene Island challenge. He decided he would take that challenge and it was perfect timing too. His Lopunny had a little daughter, which was perfetct do to the trainers only being able to start with one pokemon. [b]Personality: [/b]Allegretto cares alot about his hair. He hates it when it gets messed up, especially if the cause is by another person. He also only likes and trains pokemon that he consideres cute, beautiful, etc. His battle style still contains some techniques from his coordinating days. Such as combining his moves to get even stronger and in some cases weaker, but prettier moves. This sometimes makes him lose battles. He himself doesn't hate losing, but when he does he is onl mad if he didn't try his best. Other than his impulses to keep his hair nice and his battle beautiful he gets along well with people. Although he sometimes does critisize trainers with "ugly" pokemon. But if you bring a pokemon from other region it must be unevolved and you wouldn't get the pokemon at the beggining. By the way Kotomi is accepted. He was born to a decent class family, and was raised in an average manner, going to school like a normal kid and making various friends, and led a relatively normal life. He showed a passion for pokémon very early on, especially those of a water or ice type. His facination extended beyond that of a normal child's interest, and developed into what can only be described as a passion. It was not long before a talent was shown in him, being able to command a set of pokémon he'd never met, and gain a tie against one of the gym trainers, after asking for a challenge. As such, gym leader Jasmine decided that she would mentor him personally, to develop him into a great trainer. It didn't take long for his talents to shine, after he befriended an injured Lapras that had washed up onto the nearby beach. It was relatively young and quite weak, but Aaron managed to help it recover, and befriended it enough for it to journey with him. After buying a pokéball with the last of his pocket money, he chose Lapras as his first pokémon and decided, around the age of 15, that he would become a Pokémon trainer. He trained constantly, learning many things from Jasmine and her Gym trainers, and eventually(Age 16) became skilled enough to defeat all but Jasmine, who suggested that he try the Johto league challenge, allowing him to use her Skarmory to travel to the location of the first gym battle, Falkner of Violet city. After his incredible straight up victory over Falkner, he claimed that he would never fly again, and refuses to catch any initially flying type pokémon. He battled his way through the rest of Johto quite easily, catching a large variety of mainly Water and Ice type pokémon. His battle against Jasmine was something to be seen, and though Aaron won, the battle was incredibly close. He defeated the Elite four in an incredible straight win, and managed to reach the pinacle, the battle against Lance. It was an incredibly close battle, and Aaron claims that he only won due the Ice's match up against Dragon. After his victory, during Lance's congratulations, he was offered the position of Johto league champion, due to Lance wishing to concentrate more on Kanto. Aaron obviously accepted, being realised as the most powerful trainer in all Johto. He stayed in Johto for another 3 years, fulfilling his duties as Champion, as well has having some pretty exciting experiences, such as a battle with the Legendary Lugia, in order to calm the raging seas around Olivine and Cianwood city. He was hailed as a hero for managing to repel the legendary beast, despite it being a tie, due to Lugia fleeing. However, after an invitation over to Sinnoh to battle Cynthia, and his victory being seen as the 'Battle of the Decade', he decided he wanted more adventure, and left the handling of the Johto League in the hands of Karen, while he takes on the new Olene challenge. Having only being allowed to enter with his Lapras, he looks forward to the test of skill while hoping to capture some new, rare pokémon. [b]Personality:[/b] Despite his title and his international fame, Aaron has a surprisingly shy and quiet nature, and is rarely willing to speak to large groups or on camera. He will never make a large spectacle of anything if he can help it, and will often critiscise his own abilities and compliment his opponent's, in order to move attention to them. He is quite lazy and lax, and will often avoid confrontation at all merely because of the effort required, a trait that has been passed on to all of his closest pokémon. His favourite hobby is to ride on his Lapras' shell out on the open sea, looking at the sky, whether it be day or night. He is fascinated by Water and Ice type Pokémon, and has caught all Johto and Kanto Native, non-legendary water/ice pokémon at least once. However, his obsession does by no means make him weak to type disadvantages. His is very skilled at creating strategies to counter act disadvantages such as Type or weather. No, he's built up a reputation because of the structure of his team, as it consists solely of unevolved and baby Pokemon. Now, that wouldn't be weird if he was an inexperienced trainer, but a trainer facing the Johto league with [u]only[/u] unevolved Pokemon has been unheard of until he came along. It's not that his Pokemon couldn't have evolved either, they have all been at high enough levels to achieve that and as he treats them well the whole issue with trust wouldn't be there either. No, Diego doesn't [i]want[/i] his Pokemon to evolve, nor does he think they actually need to either, which is why he has developed various bracelets and sashes with infused everstones, preventing his Pokemon from evolving. Of course he doesn't keep his Pokemon unevolved if they are unhappy in the state they are, but all his Pokemon seem to be content with living confined to their young stages. The fact that his Pokemon don't need to evolve was something that a sixteen year old Diego managed to prove as he knocked down powerful opponents in the Johto League and finishing in 4th place. Ironically enough, Diego ended up being the most famed contestant of that year's league due to his unusual team and finely tuned strategies and video footage of his Rattata singlehandedly overtaking a mighty Charizard was used for several years for the league TV commercials. After having partaken in the Johto League, Diego took two of years off from competitive battling and training, though he did appear in a couple of battles in various charity and promotional events. During his two years off from training he finished up school and also managed to get his everstone bracelets commercialised, becoming popular accessories both for humans and Pokemon alike. Even though Diego could have had quite an easy life as a designer and businessman, he chose to leave his home after graduation to take on the Kanto League. Because, while he could have the easy life he wanted to improve as a trainer and achieve his dream of winning the league with only unevolved Pokemon, so he could prove to everyone that evolution had nothing to do with the power a pokemon can harness. However, after acquiring 2 of the Kanto Badges Diego suddenly left the region and instead headed over to Hoenn. Nobody knows exactly why he did this as there are no records of anything happening to him there that would suddenly cause him to drop the challenge and leave. Furthermore, when asked about Diego doesn't answer, simply stating that it was for 'personal reasons'. While he headed over to Hoenn he didn't take up the challenge immediately upon arrival, instead he spent 6 months just staying at __________. After having spent half a year just relaxing he decided to give the league in Hoenn a go, figuring that he might as well try it before he headed back to Johto again. However, his League Challenge came to a sudden stop here as well after his Azurill, Claire, died tragically in an accident during his Gym Battle against Flannery. While compensations were given for his loss, Diego couldn't get over the loss of Claire and as a result he decided to drop the challenge and return to his home in Johto, were he lived quietly, spending his time on his company "Everlace" that had developed from the success of his Everstone Bracelets and Accessories. Up until he got the invitation to take on the Olene Challenge he didn't battle at all, but his dream of becoming the first trainer to beat a league with unevolved Pokemon still remained and he figured that he would give it one more try.
