Mr. Heartland was in his office, making plans for the semi-finals and trying to make sure everything was in order.

[color=#008000][b]"So the Duel Coaster is ready? Excellent!" [/b][/color]He said on the telephone as he was looking out the window then heard the sound of someone teleporting into his office. [b][color=#008000]"Yes.. keep up the good work then.. and make sure our semi-finalists are treated with great hospitality."[/color][/b]

Heartland hung up the phone and turned his chair around.

[color=#008000][b]"Aaah Welcome my dear... What's that you have?" [/b][/color]Heartland approached Aivea and took a peek at the face. [b][color=#008000]"Dear me! What happened to this young lady? She looks worse than the other girl I saw this morning!"[/color][/b]

The boy's LP were spared and he could continue to fight on for another turn.

[color=#000080][b]"Draw." [/b][/color]Seth drew his card and looked at his hand [b][color=#000080]"Alright then... lets have a little fun shall we? I will play monster reborn to special summon the monster in my graveyard. Come on out in Defense Barrier Resonator!"[/color][/b]

A small fiend with an electric device on it's back and a resonator fork in it's hand appeared on the field.

[color=#000080][b]"Now.. I will activate.. Enemy Controller!" [/b][/color]Seth's enemy controller appeared on the field and he shouted out a code.[color=#000080][b] "Up! Up! Down! Down! Left! Right! Left! Right! B! A! Start! With that code entered, I tribute my monster and take control of one of yours this turn and I choose [/b][/color][color=#000080][b]Caius!"[/b][/color]

The code was punched into the controller, and the Barrier Resonator was tributed. Then Caius was moved to Seth's field.

[color=#000080][b]"Now.. Because I don't like what your monster did to my friend over there.. I'll tribute HIM to summon my Summoned Skull!"[/b][/color]

Caius was tributed, and in his place, emerged a giant floating brain with tentical-like arms."

[b]"Um...yeah...I'm OK...are you normally this eager to hug people? Just kinda wondering...yeah. So...call me Neo, at least for now. I need to go by the more awesome-sounding name when I'm in costume. And...you're kind of squishing me, Blazey..."[/b] He smiled as he heard Mikey and the monsters laughing at Kagayaki's name. [b]"Wow, that really is an un-manly name for a Numbe- what the f***?!" [/b]The last exclamation came when Neo, who still had his duel equipment on, saw a ginat Number thingy cover the sun.[b] "What the hell is that thing?!"[/b]

[color=blue]"Ugh . . . ."[/color] V muttered, taking the attack of Dr Faker and further decreasing his Life Points (LP 6000 > 4000). [color=blue]"No matter. I'm about to deliver a blow to you that'll finish you off, and pray hope that you're prepared for it."[/color] His crest continued to glow, and Dyson Sphere as well as Satellite Cannon were both in space.

He was in a heavy predicament. At the moment he had no cards that allowed him to summon his Satellite Laser Balsam, let alone another one of his Canopy Stars. He had only one card in his hand, and although he knew it was useful, it was useless if they had set cards to counter it. He'd thought Number Wall could protect his Dyson Sphere, but it didn't seem to be making much of a difference, as Number Wall was easily destroyable. He had only one set card, but it was too early on in the duel to use for a one-turn kill.

He couldn't win against them both. This he knew for certain. But the cards he had on the field - if Faker had no method of countering - would be enough to wipe out his Life Points. Just enough for that.

The number '77' was on his forehead, and on his field was a large electrical-themed tyrannosaurus rex (ATK 2500). Was this how he had felt when he had Number 91? No, 91 had been more powerful. And yet despite this, he had found that unlike Thunder Spark Dragon, he was capable of communicating with-

Yeah. "Attack directly!!!" He declared, and the dinosaur sped forward, ramming into Rai's opponent, making him the winner.

Rai walked over to his opponent, who had fallen unconscious for the time being. He liked the feeling, the feeling of obeying his Number. It was great, it was like when he had 91-

He then bent down and took his opponent's Heart Piece, before putting it into the frame. A fit. Now he had all five Heart Pieces, and now he had a complete Heart.

[color=#000000]With the attack successfully launched, D'zeljr fell to the ground, its tentacles drooping along with it. The creature seemed lifeless in this state... well, at least compared to what it was before. It was still breathing, and its tentacles swayed with the breeze.[/color]

[color=#800000]"Finally, I'll set one card and Summon Koa'ki Meiru Ghoulungulate in Attack Mode; [i]that[/i] I can do thanks to Energy Efficiency, since as you know it's normally a Level 5,"[/color][color=#000000] Dr. Faker explained, [/color][color=#800000]"I then send my revealed Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru to the graveyard for its maintenance cost, but I'll destroy D'zeljr since it's done its job for now. [color=#000000]D'zeljr slowly decayed into nothingness, but not before a new monster stepped into the fray. This specific one had a similar appearance to a horse, but it's head had decayed into a skull, and a poisonous gas seeped from its mouth.[/color]

This card can set a monster's ATK at 3000, but it must attack each turn and has its effect negated. I'll use it on your Meiru Ghoul."[/color]

V's facedown opened up, and then Faker's monster slightly increased in size. (ATK 2500 > 3000)

[color=blue]"Then I activate Number 9: Canopy Star - Dyson Sphere's effect."[/color] He said quietly. [color=blue]"By detaching an Xyz Material while my opponent has a monster stronger than Dyson Sphere, it can attack my opponent directly this turn."[/color] There was no noticable difference, but high up in space one of the floating orbs around the dyson sphere was absorbed by it. [color=blue]"Of course, that won't be enough for you, [i]Faker[/i], now will it? But here's something that will, for I activate the spell card Oni-Gami Combo, allowing me by detaching its other material to let it attack twice!!!"[/color] Then Dyson Sphere's other orb was absorbed, and suddenly a laser cannon appeared out of it - although the laser cannon was unseen at the distance of the sun.

[color=blue]"And now, Dyson Sphere attack directly!"[/color]

The first attack was just a summoned vortex, one that appeared near Faker and tried to rip off his arm - to avail or not, V didn't care. ((Faker LP: 4600 > 1700 if no response))

[color=blue]"Are you ready, Dr Faker?"[/color] V continued, his face turning into a mad, insane grin. [color=blue]"This is for all that you've done to us - to me and my family! [i][b]Dyson Sphere, again, attack directly, with RELATIVISTIC LASER!!!!!"[/color][/b][/i]

Then, all the way at the sun, the supercolossal Number monster fired a powerful beam of concentratedenergy, directly targeted at the hospital's roof. It was sharp for a dyson sphere, and the mathematics made it so that about 99% of its energy would be lost within space while crossing the distance between earth and the sun at godlike speed. And yet by the time it reached its destination, more specifically the hotel roof, it would still be strong enough to destroy a large section of the hotel roof. And it just so happened that its target was standing on that section. If this attack were to fail, V would still have his Number Wall, a charging-up Satellite Cannon, and Dyson Sphere. But he had a feeling that he'd never have another chance like this if he failed.

About thirty seconds passed before the beam was visible high up in the air as a bright light. When entering the earth's atmostphere, its speed had dramatically deaccelerated, but again - it was more than enough to take out its target. From the heavens, the beam appeared out, breaking through clouds just to get to its one target - Dr Faker.

[color=#000000]Faker attempted to activate the trap that he had just Set, but the vortex was too close to him, and managed to suck in the arm that he would've used to do so. He eventually managed to yank the arm out of the vortex as it dispersed, before activating the trap.[/color]

This'll render your...!"[/color][color=#000000] Faker looked up slightly as he was shouting, and stopped abruptly as the machine was firing a blast straight for him, that looked powerful enough to blow up a whole piece of hotel, [/color][color=#800000]"Mother of f***..."[/color]

[color=#000000]Still, the Duel Disk performed every task needed for Power Core Drain's effect [i]for[/i] him. First, it switched Ghoulungulate into Defense Position, and reduced its Attack and Defense Points to 0. It also banished an Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru from Faker's Deck, and increased his Life Points by a hefty amount; more than enough to survive the attack from No. 9. However, that didn't stop him from screaming in pain as the attack finally landed on him.[/color]

[color="#000000"]Dr. Faker emerged from the blast in a vastly weakened state, but he was alive. That [i]alone[/i] was enough to spit in the face of the Tron siblings' legacy. He panted heavily and leaned forward, almost as if he was struggling to recover.[/color]

[color=#800000]"Seriously... after all I've done to your father... [i]that's[/i] the best you can do back!?"[/color] [color=#000000]Faker asked spitefully.[/color]

[color=#000000]Activate this card by banishing 1 "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" from your Deck while you control an Attack Position "Koa'ki Meiru" monster. Target 1 Attack Position "Koa'ki Meiru" monster you control. Switch the targeted monster to Defense Position, and reduce it's ATK and DEF to 0 (permanently). Then, increase your Life Points by the sum of the targeted monster's original ATK and DEF. If the targeted monster is destroyed by battle, your opponent may inflict Piercing Damage to your Life Points. If he or she does, draw 1 card for each multiple of 1000 damage taken this way.[/spoiler][/color]

[/b][/color]Heartland rested a hand on Aivea's shoulder as if to comfort her.[color=#008000][b] "I We will take this young lady to the Hospital, even if it IS too late for the poor thing by now..."[/b][/color]

Heartland called for a Medical Crew to take the girl to the hospital, or what was left of it anyway. Soon a team of medics came in with a stretcher and placed the girl on it, then carried her off without a word.

[b][color=#008000]"Have a seat and relax Aivea.. You sound like you could use the rest.."[/color][/b] He sat back down at this desk, and waited for Aivea to get comfortable. [b][color=#008000]"So.. you say this 'virus' allowed you to feel pain...? What kind of pain are you talking about exactly? I have heard of incidents like these from staff, where people have become injured or even comatose after or even during a duel... But most of these duel have more to do with powerful cards.. known as numbers."[/color][/b]

V was horrified. Dr Faker had managed to survive the blast. How was he able to do that...? The blast should have killed him, a direct attack from a Canopy Star, regardless of whether or not he still had Life Points. His frustration turned into anger.

[color=blue]"Why are you still standing?!?!"[/color] He screamed out, and took a step back. He was shaking.[color=blue]"JUST STAY DOWN!"[/color] He shouted out, and slammed the last card in his hand onto his Duel Disk - a Meteor of Destruction. As he slammed it, from high in the air appeared a large ball of flame resembling a falling meteor, and it hit the weakened Faker (LP 3200 > 2200).

But he knew that wasn't enough. Why was he so useless? He had thought he could avenge his family by defeating their most hated enemy . . . . but it appeared as though such a simple task was impossible. Dyson Sphere, an object over a million times the size of the planet, wasn't enough. He was in a position incapable of summoning his other Numbers or Satellite Laser Balsam. There wasn't a single hope. There wasn't a single rain of mercy. Why? Why were he and his family never pitied? What had they ever done to deserve this fate?

[color=blue]"Turn end."[/color] He whispered quietly, and shot a glance at Faker's companion. [color=blue]"Do your worst."[/color]

Satellite Cannon continued charging up, but V already knew it would never have its moment. (ATK 1000 > 2000)

Chris drew his card, his hand shaking. He wasn't sure if he could do this, if he could pull through and succeed. Even though Dr. Faker was just barely holding on, if Chris didn't win, Faker would be kaput, and he himself would be next. He tried to figure out a strategy, but saw nothing that could help. Even though he had a card in his hand that might help him, there was no way for him to destroy any of V's monsters...until he remembered something, and factored in the new variable. It was risky...but it just might work!
[color=#D4AF37]"First, I will activate Gottoms' Emergency Call!"[/color] A trumpet sounded from off in the distance as Tiurcer and Falchionknight ran out of the rooftop door and stopped in front of Chris, standing on either side of Souza. [color=#D4AF37]"Because I control an X-Saber, I can Special Summon 2 more from my Graveyard! Now, I will activate Tiurcer's effect, discarding X-Saber Pashuul to make his Level 2, then Synchro Summon!"[/color] Tiurcer again became 2 rings, and Falchionknight 4 stars. [color=#D4AF37]"[i]Espadas cruzadas enzarzados en un combate eterno! La princesa del rayo de la mística oriental con gracia entra! Invocada Sincronía! Espada en mano! Sable-XX Hyunlei![/i]"[/color] Like before, thr synchro summoning created a burst of light, but this time, a young woman with golden hair, exotic golden armor, a combination visor-tiara that matched her blue buns, a curving sword, and a red cloak gracefully landed next to Souza, taking up a stance that resembled something from a martial arts movie. (2300 ATK|LV6) [color=#D4AF37]"Now, I activate the effect of my Hyunlei! She can destroy up to 3 Spells and/or Traps upon being Synchro Summoned, and I choose your High Count and your Number Wall! [i]Lei Long Jiàn[/i]!"[/color] Blue electricity started to build around Hyunlei's sword, and she slashed at the floating wall, sending a powerful lightning bolt at the barrier, which shattered. The attack kept going and fried V's other Trap, setting Ghoulungulate free while thunder crashed around them.
[color=#D4AF37]"Next, I will Special Summon XX-Saber Faultroll from my hand, since I control at least 2 other X-Sabers!"[/color] A huge red-armored cyborg warrior with a blue visor and a mane of spiky white hair landed on the field, cracking the roof in a slight crater, and readied his huge sword. (2400 ATK|LV6) [color=#D4AF37]"And I will use his effect to bring back my X-Saber Airbellum from my Graveyard!"[/color] A leonid soldier with golden armor and a gauntlet with razor-sharp claw-blades on each arm roared as he arrived on the battlefield. (1600 ATK|LV3|Tuner) [color=#D4AF37]"Now, time to Synchro Summon again!"[/color] Airbellum growled and flashed his claws as he became 3 rings, while Faultroll rose up into the air and turned into 6 stars inside of those rings. [color=#D4AF37]"[i]Espadas cruzadas enzarzados en un combate eterno! El legendario comandante se ha llegado a hacerse cargo! Invocada Sincronía! Espada en mano! Sable-XX Gottoms![/i]"[/color] The newly-assembled synchro array fired off, and a massive knight slammed onto the roof, threatening to destroy it. He was at least 15 feet of polished silver plating with blue lines pulsating and throbbing with energy, red fabric billowing out behind him, a massive sword, and an intricate helmet with golden wings on either side and glowing red eyes coming from the visor. He towered above the other warriors, ready to finally end this fight. (3100 ATK|LV9)
[color=#D4AF37]"Now with your defenses gone, time to finally end this! I equip Gottoms with Sword of Sparkles!"[/color] A massive shining sword with a gap in the middle landed in front of the giant, who promptly equipped himself with it. [color=#D4AF37]"Now, to attack! Gottoms, attack Satellite Cannon! Shining Saber!"[/color] Gottoms reached his arm back, and threw the sword up into the air with a shattering BOOM as it broke the sound barrier instantly, and flew up into space. The blade eventually reached the orbiting weapons platform, and sliced right through it, causing to appear as a flash in the augmented reality sky. (V: 2400 LP) [color=#D4AF37]"And now, for Sword of Sparkles' effect! Whenever the equipped monster destroys a monster by battle, I can destroy 1 card on the field, and I choose your Dyson Sphere!"[/color] The sword continued to fly forward and go faster, the magic enchanting it accelerating its speed until it reached the Number, and pierced right though its shell, ripping through miles upon miles of metal until it reached the core of the machine, disrupting the containment field of the structure that kept it from falling into the sun it contained. As explosions ripped through its arms, Dyson Sphere started to fall into Sol, crumbling into ruins while the sword slingshot around the sun and back to Earth, plummeting down through the atmosphere until it reached Gottoms, who grabbed it as another sonic boom heralded the end of the mighty Number.
Atsuko turned her head up to the sky as she approached the hotel and smiled. [color=#FF0000]"He did it..."[/color] She told on one, dumbstruck that Dyson Sphere was destroyed, before a huge smile grew on her face and she started jumping up and down in total elation. [color=#FF0000]"He f**king did it! Dorian looked at the girl coming in floating on a bubble and and he was glad he continued to remain unnoticed. He put his cards up and pretended to read a magazine in the stereotypical fashion of hiding and proceeded to watch the conversation unfold. Dorian went to brush scratch his head and his hand bumped into his D-gazer turning it on out of clumsiness. He was just in time to see a trail of explosions light up the digital sky as Dyson Sphere was being destroyed. V looked up and saw his Satellite Cannon and Number 9: Canopy Star - Dyson Sphere get destroyed. He had known this would happen. It would take a person of his calibur to hang around with Dr Faker - he had realized that only too late. His Duel Tattoo disappeared and D-Pad shut down, and his crest also quietened back down. He sighed and took a few steps back, to the edge of the hotel roof.

Butler watched as the duel unfolded unfortunately sense he does not really play duel monsters he barely understood what happened. He did however watch as Seth gave his own heart pieces to the fallen and while that wasn't a numbers victory like his master Dorian had hoped it was something interesting to take notice. Butler remained ever still to see the boys next move and Butler wondered who would Leon duel next. This may be a chance to see his numbers in action sense Butler and his master missed that part of the battle in the warehouse. Butler actually realized that he had one heart piece on him but wasn't registered in the tournament Dorian seemed to have an extra one. There was this miscellaneous stack of extras Dorian insisted Butler carry with him on all times. Butler remained ever still for he was the boys shadow at the same time he did not like that his master had not returned and after viewing the destruction of the sun blocking mega base (Dyson Sphere) he couldn't help but get a little paranoid. Although his master did have 4 numbers on him which is more than enough to stave off any of these monsters that could challenge him.

Chris didn't hear the entirety of what V was saying, as he was too busy doing a victory dance after Dr. Faker said he was alright, but suddenly those emphasized words stuck him. He shrugged, and noticed that the helicopter had arrived, so he got in after Dr. Faker, and they headed off.
Atsuko, meanwhile, was heading back, when she received a hail from her colleague. [color=#FF0000]"'Sup?"[/color]
[color=#8b4513]"Atsuko, we have a lock. There's some activity from Number 91 showing up on our scanners. We're sending you the coordinates now."[/color]
[color=#FF0000]"Got it, L-Man. Atsuko out."[/color] She flipped down her D-Gazer as a map of Heartland appeared overlaid, like a HUD. An arrow also appeared at the top of her field of vision to direct her.
Chris then received a call from their mysterious benefactor while he was in the helicopter, his D-Gazer muting the sound so Dr. Faker couldn't hear anything. [color=#D4AF37]"Yes? I'm en route with Dr. Faker to his laboratory."[/color]
[color=#8b4513]"We figured from your current heading. Just be careful. According to our records, this is not the nicest person there is. In fact, he can be a downright jerk. For all we know, he could be using the both of you. I have an extraction team on standby-"[/color]

He wanted to run about all over the house. Oh well. He stayed sitting and looked around.

A few minutes later, a strange silver cylindrical device, about the size of a trash can, landed in front of Atsuko. She tapped the top, bringing up a holographic display, and punched in some selections before the floating screen dismissed itself. The machine started to separate, its formerly flawless exterior parting into various panels to reveal complex mechanisms within, while its top started to whirr to life as rings inside of it powered up. After a minute, a blue sphere of energy emerged from the device, floating in midair. To anyone with a scanner or Number-finding senses, it would've looked like a powerful Number just appeared outside of the Heartland building.
