Gensokian
Closing his pouch after putting his deck away, Rinnosuke looked up, and almost jumped back at what he saw; he hadn't expected to see another person up and about, much less one in a mask, and dressed like that. What made it even worse was that the man seemed to be looking in his direction, which could mean any manner of things. Becoming flustered, he suddenly couldn't figure out how to handle the situation. Trying to calm himself, he took in a deep breath and let it out slowly as he attempted to meet the man's eyes. "Uh...hello there?" he asked hesitantly, still very wary of anyone in this land, even the less-suspicious ones. "It's...uh, it is morning, right? Do you need help, or just walking around like me?" He gave a nervous smile, and looked off to the side at nothing, trying to make himself believe that there was nothing to be nervous about. Even so, he still felt his core slowly start to tense up, and he just tried to tell himself that this man in front of him was nothing more than just a duelist entered in the tournament, and not someone trying to rob him. Medivh
Greg sat up, groggily. His vision was blurred, and he looked around. My head is pounding...What happened to me? He heard a wooshing noise, and looked down. Around his deck box, swirling columns of smoke coiled, forming an "X" around the box. The purple Darkswarm mark on his left hand shone bright and bit painfully into his hand as Greg reached down, flipped the deck box open, and looked through his main and extra deck. He gasped. Many cards had been replaced, most notably his new-gotten "Radiant" monsters. They were still there, but their numbers had taken a heavy blow. The same was true for the monsters in his Extra Deck. Many of the new cards were Darkswarms, though some were just random, generic support. Greg placed his deck back in it's case, and the smoke "X" around the box faded and the mark on his hand stopped glowing. "Interesting..." he muttered to himself. Love of Ghibli
It is the second day of the tournament, Dorian and Butler make there way to the tournament grounds to begin a second day of card playing. Dorian is prancing around as usual without any care in the world while Butler is still ever vigilant. Oh what's the matter Butler still concerned about all those strange feelings you got yesterday? Dorian said mockingly. How can you not be clearly this a dangerous place and should leave at once replied Butler. I know but isn't that why you insisted we come to the second day so early because all of those really scary people might still be a sleep. Its not like it matters anyway even with all of that chaos I managed to get three heart pieces that fit so I'm only two away from making it to the finals. But those were not even good matches can you even say you had fun winning against opponents of that level? Butler asked You know I hate that type of talk! Dorian exclaimed Do you know what's fun? WINNING and if you can't have fun when you win then you really do not deserve to win plane and simple. Now you dragged me out here without my mandatory two hour morning shopping exercise so you at least should help me find an opponent. Yes Sir. Butler replied obediently. The two left the safe corner to see who would be up at this hour to duel.
Wave_Sine
Palir'd been noticed, though being one of the only people up at this hour would make one hard to miss. He walked closer to the man, making every effort to keep his movements fluid. It looked like he had been startled by Palir's presence. When he got about three feet away, he stopped and thought about the man's questions. It is currently... between midnight and... noon so yes... it is morning. Palir thought a few moments more, then answered the question that had truly been asked. I am wondering... if you are... in the... World Duel Carnival... as well. He reached into a pocket and pulled out his heart-shaped frame with two pieces in it, both shining slightly with the light of the sun and the streetlamps. He then put the frame back and took his deck out of a different pocket. If you are... perhaps we could... have a Duel... try to get... ahead in the... tournament. He waited for the medievally-dressed man to reply. Gensokian
Rinnosuke resisted the urge to back up several steps as the man approached, feeling his nerves go wild inside him, and he cursed himself because of it. Just as he was about to scream, however, he took in a breath and closed his eyes tight before he relaxed himself, then heard the man speak. Something about the way he spoke made him seem even more suspicious; perhaps it was just his way, but he seemed...careful about his words, like he was trying to say the right things to hide something else...but Rinnosuke decided it would be best not to provoke the man. Staring at the frame with two pieces fitted in it, he let out another breath and then pulled out his own frame, his three pieces sticking to the places they fit, then he showed the one that didn't fit in his other hand. "Yes...I'm in the tournament," he said slowly, trying to sound normal, instead of at wit's end. "I guess that means you're looking for a duel for my heart pieces." Slowly, he pulled out his own deck, and then the device he was given for dueling purposes, which he quickly and thankfully figured out how to use in no time. "So...what's the wager?" He looked up at the masked man with a nervous smile, wishing he could see the man's face, and his intentions, behind that mask.

Wave_Sine
Palir wished that he could say that he was used to people being intimidated by him, but that just wasn't the case. This guy was no different, well maybe a little different in that he seemed more nervous than most people. Upon hearing that this person was in the WDC, Palir reached fro his frame, once again holding it. My wager is... two Heart Pieces. He put the frame back in his pocket, then looked back at his opponent. Normally his pre-emptive apology was unnecessary, but with him... Palir rolled up his left sleeve.I apologize... in advance... if this disturbs you. Gensokian
Slipping his own arm into the disk, shuffling his deck, and then placing it into the holder, thus activating his own disk, Rinnosuke felt at least some of the tension leave at the apology, despite the speech still seeming rather suspicious to him. "Two pieces it is," he agreed, nodding as he was told to go first and drew his starting hand. Not much to do, but it could be very useful later. "Well, I guess to start things off, I'll place a monster face down, and then two cards behind it," he said, using phrases he had heard in his previous duels, hoping he used them right. The cards floated into view, the monster horizontal, and the cards behind it right next to each other in a vertical stance. "Let's see if your hand is more useful than mine." Kohakuchan19
Out in the City, Seth (or rather Bacterian at this point.) was watching over the horizone form a tall building until the sun finally came up. He he jumped off the building and landed on his feet onto the sidewalk below. He left a slight dent in the concrete, also leaving hundreds of cracks that oriented from under his feet. Those who saw this were very surprised and became nervous as he continued down the street looking for opponents. No one seemed brave enough to challenge Seth to a Duel, simply because they were afraid. "Weaklings... All of them... But I'll remedy that in good time.. Lets see.. how are my three drones doing...?" Seth's eyes went from red to white as he synched his mind with the zombified duelists he had taken control of the night before. This allowed him to see what they saw. He kept switching between the three of them, monitoring their every move. One was trudging through the park, one near an arcade area, and the other was headed for the hotel where he was sure Amber was staying. All three still had a single heart piece. "hehehehe... It would seem that they aren't making too much progress.. perhaps I need to adjust their behavior a bit..." Seth's eyes flashed a neon green as he communicated with their minds. "DRONES!!! Straighten up! Act more civilized!" With that the Drone suddenly walked normally, and their expressions went from gaping mouth, to plain and neutral. They would also speak normally like people would, but their dialog would be limited. ________________________________ Amber heard Leon's voice telling her to Wake up. Her eyes opened and she sat up and let out a big yawn. "Time to go already?" She said as she rubbed her eyes. "I haven't even had a chance to freshen up.. Or eat for that matter..." As soon as Amber said that, Her stomach grumbled which resulted in her blushing. "I'm going to Wash up real quick. Be done in a flash." With that she bolted into the Bathroom, taking some clothes in with her to change into. She took a quick shower, and everything else that would need to be done. Amber would let out an occasional "Ouch!" everytime she ended up pressing against her bruise too hard, but other than that there were no problems. After she got dressed, she unlocked the door, and started Blow drying her hair. (Which seemed to take the longest to do, since she had so much of it.) She quickly got impatient with the activity and left it half damp as she brushed her hair instead. She came out of the Bathroom, and her out fit.. was pretty much the same, except she was wearing a black t-shirt under her hoodie. She walked up to the night stand, and retrieved her goggles, and then revealed her method of putting it on to get that style she had before. -First she loosened it and put it around her neck, like a necklace (making sure none of her hair was under it.) -Second, tilted her head down as she stretched the goggles up to her forehead, making her bangs flip back. -Finally, she tightens the goggles, snug around her head. "All Done!"
Lord JZ of the Enigma
"Sheesh, where is everyone?" Josep exclaimed as he continued through the park, finally his nose catching a whiff of a Number..or at least the presence. "well, seems I'm close, that's the smell of one of them...definitely" he looked around the nearly empty area, his eyes scouting the edges of his field of vision, but he saw nothing, the feeling was there though, no doubt about it, if anything chances were high that the Number scent wasn't coming towards him, but that didn't matter, if he challenged someone then they had to accept. "the only good part about this tournament...is that they can't run too far" he began walking towards where he felt the presence, as he walked, Red-Eyes roared once again, Josep may not have heard it, but any Duel spirit within miles could not get the distinct cry out of their heads. AkatsukiPride!
When Mikey woke up the second time, he didn't like the position he was in one bit. He was sprawled out on the floor on top of a pillow with a shower curtain thrown over him, and Blazey was asleep in the bed he was supposed to be in. "Jerk," he mumbled. He walked out to a balcony their room had, and he saw a drenched chair hanging from the side by a long piece of heavy-duty rope. "Blazey must have had a lot to think about," he said. He laughed a bit. He took a quick shower, put some gel in his hair and fixed it up to its usual downward, spiky glory. He put some clothes on and wrote down a quick not for Blazey. I am not sorry for leaving without you, but you kind of kicked me out of my bed instead of sleeping on your own, you gave me nothing but a shower curtain and a pillow, and you hung a chair from our balcony. So yeah, I'm leaving. But by the time you read this, I will have left. Good morning, by the way. He taped the note to her face and went out the door laughing. The images of Ocean and Heat walked beside him, chuckling a bit as well. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ IV juggled three heart pieces in his hand. Unfortunately, all of them were the same frigging piece and didn't fit together whatsoever. So that duel he just had was a major failure, except for one thing. He took a black Xyz card from his pocket, examining it. "Number 25: Force Focus. Seems a little odd. Its a giant flying laser camera thing..." He shrugged and put it in his pocket. After all, a Number is a Number, no matter what Number it was. He looked back at an Ex-Number Holder laying on the ground, shocked. "Sorry," IV started, "but I'm not so merciful. Don't take it personal." He chuckled a bit before walking away, and his chuckle broke into an insane laugh, which probably brought a lot of unnecessary attention to himself. Gensokian
Rinnosuke was taken aback a bit by the Karakuri that was summoned; it looked like something that someone he knew...no, she couldn't have done that, no way at all. In any case, he didn't quite like the way that trap looked, but as he drew his next card, he knew that he wouldn't have much choice but to spring the trap. He just needed to think about how best to do that, without leaving himself wide open next turn...and he thought he had it after reading his cards again. "Alright, first, I'll flip up my SDM Gatekeeper, Hong Meiling," he said, and as the card flipped, a young girl in Chinese attire flipped up from the card, and went into a fighting stance.

"Then, I'll normal summon the SDM Fairy Maid." At his declaration, a small fairy hit the field, in a maid's attire, and flittered around for a few moments, seemingly cleaning nothing. "Now that she's been normal summoned, and since there's another SDM on the field, I can grab an SDM card, and I pick SDM Servant, Koakuma." Rinnosuke searched through his deck and pulled out the little devil, but then immediately sent her to the grave. "I'll be using her effect, however, to discard her and pull out the field spell, Scarlet Devil Mansion." Once again, he searched through his deck, and as he pulled it out and shuffled, he played the card and then, behind him, a giant mansion sprang up behind him, a massive gate blocking the entrance. "Now, I'll have my Fairy Maid attack your Karakuri, and with the home field advantage, she has just enough to destroy it!" As the fairy received the command, she started to lay a spread of bright, oddly-shaped bullets in the direction of the defending Merchant, and Rinnosuke braced for the trap he knew would be face down from his opponent's previous turn. A bright flash, then a serpentine machine appeared, floating in the sky behind Palir. Next I'll activate... "Solidarity". As long as... only one printed... Gensokian
Rinnosuke could hardly keep up with what just happened, but he soon figured out it would mean that it would make his life rather difficult. With no monsters to save him on the field at the moment, and with that Solidarity to beef up his monster, all he could do was brace himself for impact, and he barely was able to keep himself on his feet. "Ow..." was all he could say, slowly lowering his arms from their shielding state. "Is...that all for your turn?"
Wave_Sine
Behind his mask, Palir winced a bit at his opponent's reaction. Turn end. By the way... are you okay? These last few words are spoken in a softer tone, though the metallic edge is still present. His had acted on his opponent's reaction too quickly; he had forgotten to set a card face-down, though at this point he figured that any more would have been overkill. He'd read the effect of the card this Rinnosuke had protected; it had the potential to ruin his strategy, especially if it remained protected. Luckily, I haven't seen any DARK monsters aside from the one he discarded. Catastor should be able to hold him off for the time being. Palir's Field State (assuming no response to summons): LP: 8000 Hand: 4 cards Field: 1 monster (Ally of Justice Catastor, ATK 3000), 1 active S/T (Solidarity)
Gensokian
Rinnosuke had to wonder just how he was going to combat that Catastor; he had seen it before, but now that it was stronger, only one monster he had could really take it out directly, and that was only if the Scarlet Devil Mansion was out. He could feel that it was already over for him, but then he drew his next card, and he could see what he had to do next. "Alright, draw done, so now comes the important Standby Phase," Rinnosuke said confidently. "Meiling returns, and I can dig out Remilia, who goes back to my hand. Now, I'll shift Meiling into Defense Position before I make my next move: Scarlet Devil Mansion is still out, so I can activate this next card; Spear the Gungnir!"

"I'll discard SDM Magician, Patchouli Knowledge to actibate this, and I'll target your Solidarity for destruction!" As soon as Patchouli was discarded, a long spear of lightning shot out from the top windows of the mansion behind Rinnosuke, and it pierced right through the image of Solidarity. Then, as the arcs left, the image of what seemed to be a young girl came through, as if she rode the spear itself. "Now the Mistress of the mansion can let her power be known. It just so happens she's a DARK attribute, so she can come out in a fury. Now, hit her with Scarlet Shoot!" Baring her fangs, Remilia had an evil look in her eyes as she spread out her batlike wings, and from behind her, large orbs started to fire in the Catastor's direction, and one struck it right in the middle of its core, crippling it and making it nothing but a large piece of scrap metal. "And with that, my turn ends," Rinnosuke declared, a small smile on his face; the Scarlet Devil was still as fearsome as she was back in his home lands. Wave_Sine
I probably should have expected that from something to do with a "Scarlet Devil Mansion". He braced himself for the damage of the attack (Palir LP: 7300). My turn. Draw! Palir's body language had become increasingly worried. None of the monsters he had easy access to had enough attack to surpass the little vampire, and he was in no position to summon any of them in the first place. No way around... it then. Set two cards... face-down... turn end. This defensive strategy would be all he could do at this point; maybe after his opponent's turn he'd be able to get out of this situation. Gensokian
Rinnosuke felt rather confident as he drew into his next card. Looking at it, he decided it would be better if he just held onto it, just in case he actually did need it. Instead, he figured that it would be better if he just kept up his offense, making sure to keep his advantage. "Alright, then, I'll keep this card in hand for now, then have Remilia attack your face down monster," Rinnosuke declared, and on his words, Remilia lunged forward, claws ready to swipe at the hidden monster.
