Catman25
I think I like my 11 layer tags more. 25 layers + a panda. Edit: Holy hell tinypic why you lq?
Night
Why you no comment on my abby? I quite like the atmo of the piece. The lighting is horrendous and lazily achieved. Also, the lighting is lolwrong. Focal = Dark <- Light. BG = Light -> Dark Panda is a nice touch, and makes this piece. The splatters are pretty dope too. Try to refine your work a bit. Catman25
Lighting looked pro on dodge so I went with it. You should know that I believe looks cool > technical stuff haha.
Icy
Even a 1000px piece would have nowhere near 1000 layers, regardless. At that stage, you'd have masking effects, tweaks to the RGB channels, merged folders etc. If you need more than 100 layers in any kind of piece that doesn't bridge 3D Art, you're doing something WRONG and repeating a lot. Or you're combining multiple things, which is the only excuse. That being said, I disagree with Nightwalker. While the atmosphere is nice, that's all it is. Your size actually limits this, as well as directionality. I get it, you used the lightning to fill the empty space, but it's still poorly placed. Your light is coming down at roughly an 85x10 degree angle, from INFRONT OF HER, and you took no steps to change the lighting (hint: you can and I do it all the time). Your space stocks, fractals and whatever else are nice and yeah sure they get the mood of atmospheric satisfaction of curiosity across but they don't pop at all. That moon looks like all it's there to do is to add some semblance of depth or ground, whatever you want to call it. So... all things considered... Where did you go with this?
I did not feel the need to "change" the lighting. I saw, albeit from novice eyes, an ample opportunity for lighting, but obviously it's not working. I do thank you for your comments and criticism though, I'll try to analyze this further and see where I can improve. As for "where I went with this," the answer is the tag itself. I don't really know what you're asking but the tag was a journey, a transformation from the stock and that's where I wound up in the end. I don't know how else to answer. Night
What I meant was, I like the feel of it, clearly it needs work, just as the rest of the piece does. But the foundation feels right, which is what I like about it. There's no sense in bashing the entire thing, I like one aspect of the piece, even if slightly it's worth pointing out. You taught me that.
Icy
I don't troll Catman, and I saw the exaggeration but decided to not bite; instead hand everyone who looks at this a book. More fun that way to me. And point there Nightwalker... Sorry for any harshness Catman.
Catman25
I don't find you to be harsh, but rather blunt. Critiques from you I notice are from more of a different perspective and if you have to spell things out to explain yourself I'm fine with that.
Yes they are lol, I comment from a Design Standpoint not a mechanical and technical one; Something I'm glad I taught Nightwalker so much about. My favorite pieces are the ones that get their idea outspoken. And typically I do not spell things out, I show them (complete with a diagram and modification of your own piece) but as my recent thread in here shows, I was in the middle of my own. Not saying its a good idea but its cumpolsary xD Catmaaaaaannnnggggg, I'm not really sure of the noise level in the tag. I'm sure it wasn't intentional but try to clean it a bit because its very distracting at the moment. At the moment it looks pretty flat mainly because the lighting isn't focused so much; not on the subject or on the background, it kind of looks no focused low light photography. The lightning looking thing on her arm is a bit over-contrasted so its giving a hard sharpness to the piece. Maybe fix that and re-colour it to something more eye catching; don't forget to paint the light reflection on the face and clothes if you do that. Twenty-five Zero Oh-oh
I kinda like this but yeah fix the lighting. I like the way you did the colors.
