Tentacruel
har har No. I hope you realize that "Heavy Metal" and "Metal" are the same thing, while "Hardcore Metal" is not a genre. R&B is generally sh**, and you forgot to include any form of Jazz.

Bahamut - Envoy of the End
Real Music is a genre. That covers everything that is made. As opposed to fake, non-existant music, which as genre contains nothingess... Wait that's not the discussion? The discussion is someone telling us that these ten genres are 'real' ie the best music, and then backtracking on himself very rapidly? Right... ... ... Who really cares about genres and sub genres and being "I'm into into 'deathcore metal' and none of this 'hardcore metal' rubbish learn the difference loser!" or "Jazz was so much better in 75 than 76." I mean who really, genuinely cares? I listen to lots of music. I try a band, I like it, I get an album. I don't like it, I turn it off. Doesn't matter what 'category' people try to ram them into. I genuinely hope you're not complaining about the metal genres.
Lonk
I feel offended about the title not being consistent to your opening post. All music is real. There really is no point of discussion in this thread.

Lonk
And how the hell is OST a musical genre? ._. Black, why in the world did you just insult VGMs by calling them "not a musical genre"? It may not be the most formal of genres, but it definitely is a genre, and my favorite at that. Somebody, please lock this thread before I should strangle this mod for unintentional trolling

Somebody, please lock this thread before I should strangle this mod for unintentional trollingYou misunderstood my point. OST is NOT a genre. OSTs are all parts of seperate genres. They can be rock, rap, whatever. Sure, there are those like 8-bit, but that falls more under Chiptune and whatnot. "OST" covers a wide range of music that can't be confined to a single genre. BlazBlue has mostly rock, Gurren Lagann has rap and rock, Guilty Crown has "Indian-Sounding Music", Naruto has very JApanese feeling music, etc. Not sure on the exact genres, but you get the point. Enrise
Music is music, and cannot be defined as fake or real. If the music exists, then it is real. It is defined as an art, whose mediums are sound and silence; the compositions of music can range from strict creation styles to improvisational ideas that are produced in your thoughts. Even the sounds of nature can be considered music, from the birds signing and the waterfalls crashing, crickets chirping in the midnight and the wind vocalizing it's thoughts into a howl, screech, or whistle. Why? Because the sounds given by nature are the mediums that create a melody. The melodies nature creates is the music nature provides. If there are laws in music, it's this:"The terms of "real" or "fake" shall not be applied to a musical genre based on a personal opinion. Music is real, so long as you have ears to listen to it, literally or figuratively."
FindingTheEverlight
Anything is real music, I even admit Justin Beiber is music, sadly. I don't listen to him, but as long as it has a beat and or lyrics, its music nonetheless.
Guest Lujan Solo
All music is real. Some music sucks. The music you think that sucks is awesome to someone else.
