Astro Dude
Wow. Funimation is getting their hands on all kinds of anime, old and new. They managed to dub Tales of Vesperia First Strike and got two of the original va's from the game. Here: http://www.funimation.com/tales-of-vesperia/forum/funimation-shows/and-more/tales-of-vesperia/tales-of-vesperia-dub-cast That's not all. They also got right for Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Rebirth, Tales of Symphonia and Record of Lodoss War. I say to them good luck trying to get the original casts for the games back together for the anime versions of the three tales games. But they did get the Slayers dub cast together for seasons 4 and 5 so anything is possible.

It seems you aren't even paying attention to the industry, either. FUNimation has been the top player for quite a while, Sentai Filmworks is the one making more notable moves right now. Expelsword
I'm sadface because FiOS stopped offering FUNimation Channel. Now I can't watch Yu Yu Hakusho anymore (legally).
Naive. Tell me, who's listed as the English licensor for Tales of the Abyss on this page? They list a load of stuff they don't have. Note that some stuff on their recommendations list have links and some don't.
Astro Dude
Bandai. But come on! Media Blasters dropped Record of Lodoss War so someone had to pick it up.
burnpsy
Record of Lodoss War was going to be an HD rerelease on an old dub. They found it was too expensive for how much they figured it would sell, so they dropped it. For two reasons that are quite obvious, nobody will be picking that up again. Astro Dude
It's an old anime. I'm sure someone will. It was the anime that gave Lisa Ortiz her career. Plus do you know how hard it is to find an anime like that these days?
burnpsy
Remember that this is, first and foremost, a business. What do you think will sell better, an old show with an old dub, or a new show with a new dub? Unless the old show is something super-famous like DBZ or Sailor Moon (Lodoss War is rather obscure to the general anime public TBQH), the new show wins. Don't completely ignore my argument - Media Blasters themselves are on record saying that the reason I said was the sole reason the picked it up, and the sole reason they dropped it.
